It's been said many times before, so who knows why guys continue to ignore this advice, but one should never take two girls from Help. These freelancers are much more likely to pull a scam than are other girls. If the girls work for a termas or an agency, you have some possible means of recourse if there's a problem. But these freelancers will rip you off, stay away for a week--by which time you've left town--and then return to pluck out another victim.

Sounds like you haven't been down in 3-4 years. IMHO you have two conflicting forces working for you. One, you haven't been there in a long time, so all the garotas will seem awesome compared to what you've been used to the last few years. Two, the prices are at least double now, that's just due to the currency and general inflation. Help entry is over US$15 now, when you were there it was around US$6-7 to get in. Garota prices are up at Help and the quality, relative to 2002-2003, is shitty. So, you may not like Help at all due to the new price/quality ratio.

Then again, you haven't been down in so long you may think the quality is awesome. Best advice - still book the trip to Rio but be flexible on your night venue. Help is no longer the midnight mandatory that it used to be, in fact a lot of us never venture near the place anymore.

Average girls can be had for R$150-R$200 - if you negotiate and are willing to walk away. Most will quote wide eyed gringo's R$300, even $R400..... Top end girls will most likely not budge much from the R$300 unless the night is slow. Since I like morenas, I tend to get the lower end of the payment scale - they tend to command less money. I will never pay more then R$150 - If they do not negotiate I keep looking until I find somebody I like and willing to accomodate my budget. Obviously that approach does not work with the few '10's you see here and there.

The later it gets in the night, the cheaper the prices get. At midnight the prices are at their peak, by 3:00am the girls are much willing to negotiate.

Price certainly does not always equate to better quality session either.

Make sure to negotiate and discuss everything upfront - BBBJ, overnight, etc.... do not assume anything.

Also you will most likely get asked to buy drinks throughout the night - just say 'No' Especially be wary of buying Red Bull, Whiskey, etc... Ave, stunners, etc. With the influx of PanAmerican tourits,etc there is no reason for anything to change, at least thru July. The only diff I noticed was outside at Terraco the quality was better, and much more negotiable. I found 3 diff GDP's there that ranged from 150-250RI, two extremely cute and the other an 8, all provided good service, so recommend hanging out there where you don't deal with drink requests, etc..

I worked in NYC for 7 years all times of day and night, also hit some of the clubs in North Philly, second story ect, also the Latin clubs Terra Columbiana ect. I mean things can happen but I never felt threatened.
When I was in Rio, I was almost paranoid about this safty issue, always looking around, sizeing up everyone walking toward me, day and night. Some residents of Rio say the safty issue is overblown. Other then the normal steps you should take to secure your safty is it that dangerous? I mean I'm not going to jump out of a plane wthout a parachute or walk around 8th and diamond at 3am by myself either!

Other than Jag and I pissing off a cpl of pimps, it seemed entirely safe. We were there until at least 9pm, no problems. As far as adjoining areas, I would use the usual caution. Best to take a taxi to/from IMHO...
We had a great time there on all of the visits, some diamonds in the rough, etc. enjoy.....

The only place I ever feel/felt threatened in Rio is the two blocks either side of Help after midnight.

We are definitely off topic here with VM in the 'Help' section. But to quickly respond and at the end I'll finish with the 'Help' topic - VM itself is safe. If you are newbie and are just not sure or scared about your safety, then take a taxi and in and out and you will be fine. I always take the bus. I have mentioned it and so have others, I think it is much safer then when you are close to 'Help'. Just do not expect much..the area itself is actually quite small, about a half block of girl/street action. The best place? There really is none in particular - anywhere you can find a gem, but it takes looking. Just walk in and out of all the alley's, or what I can only compare to a tiny shopping mall with back to back bars, and look in each until you find something you like.

Now to take it back to 'Help'... you really cannot compare the two. VM is your basic 20 minute bang, run, with no romance situation, in tiny dirty rooms where the girls bring their own sheets - Good stuff :-) 'Help' - well, a meat market as well but not to the degree of VM. 'Help' can run the gamut - from 20 minute quickies with girls that run back to 'Help' after their session leaving you dissappointed and potentially to those wonders that make you want to divorce your wife and want to live in Rio (plus have that momentary lapse of making other unwise decisions such as sending money and trying to rescue these girls).

VM is kind of like a whorehouse/flea market combination. In other words, there are bars along the main drag that double as whorehouses, but they’re not the primary attraction. Most of the action is located in the middle of the block inside a large warehouse building with a hallway that runs down its length, turns and continues across the back of the building and then returns to the front. Along both sides of the hallway are small establishments, and I use that term loosely, that have cozy bars inside and appropriate, comfortable accommodations upstairs. None of the places have names, at least none are posted.

I know that sounds to good to be true, and it is! In reality each bar is absolutely filthy, the plush accommodations upstairs are actually several condom strewn tiny rooms with a well worn, small foam rubber mattress resting on a platform that substitutes for a bed. Oh by the way, if you get a drink in any of the bars, ask for plastic because I wouldn’t recommend drinking out of any glasses. That said, the place is loud and vibrant beyond belief. And to make it even better, it’s loaded with all types of women who are ready, willing and able to please you for only R$25, or R$26 if you haven’t brought your own rubbers. I suggest you bring your own. To give you an idea of what I’m talking about, I’ve included two pictures of the “plush rooms.” Look at the rooms, not the girls!

I’ve been there over 30 times and spent in excess of 100 hours conducting valuable research. It’s very safe in VM proper, but I wouldn’t recommend walking around outside the main drag. It’s dangerous and you’re fair game for the banditos who wait for drunken unsuspecting gringos. I’ve watched them pick off a few.

Getting back to the main attraction, the women; it’s possible to find some very attractive women there. As a matter of fact, I’ve seen several women at VM only to run into them the next day on Hooker beach or in Help. I haven’t figured out why in God’s name they would continue to work in VM when they can pull guys off the beach, or out of Help, but they do. Guess they’re “whores to the core!” God bless them all.

I suggest we have pictures and videos in more than one category. They should keep their country category but add new catagories such as big boobs, spinners, large booty, great body, great oral performance, Gfe , etc. If you are into big boobs then you could search by that catagory. If you look at porn websites and magazines a lot of them cater to specifics likes and fetishes. We could also vote on each category.
