The entire western side of Peru is on the Pacific ocean. It's 1800 miles of coastline does not have many nice beaches. The western coast is mostly desert regions. The best Peruvian beaches are from Lima northward towards Ecuador.

See my report on Huanchaco [under Peru]. It has a nice beach, excellent surfing. There are a couple of links which provide pictures of the beach/ocean.
I have also provided a link to a hotel there.
