I revisited Lion's Spa on Sunday, 17 January at 12:45 pm.

There were a half dozen other customers and two girls working when I arrived (there were five when I left at 3:30).

The towel boys were very accommodating, helping me find the NFL playoffs on (first) the TV that you can watch from the hot, dry room and then on the large TV in the lounge area.

I was approached by Katie (?), who chatted me up for a while, before making her sales pitch. She wasn't wearing much in the way of clothing, and I liked what I saw, so I told her that she had a customer, but had to wait until halftime.

She showed up with 1:30 left in the half, and got a quick lesson in how long two minutes can last in American Football.

We finally got to her room. There was no pretense of a massage, she just had me sign the slip, and we got down to business.

Katie knew what she was doing with her clothes off, and we eventually reached a satisfying (for me, anyway) ending. I'm never really comfortable having sex on those massage tables, but Katie came up with some, er, creative solutions... I get the impression that she's done it before. Was it the best sex ever? Hardly, but it was fine.

When I got back downstairs, the game was well in hand, so I showered, got dressed, and went on my way to watch the second game.

This was an extremely hassle-free experience. My limited Spanish was fine, and I think it could have been handled with no Spanish skills whatsoever. When we got to the room, Katie filled out the slip with the 'tip' already filled in - 150 soles. We never discussed pricing beforehand, and she still charged me the regular rate, with no attempt at an upsell or a gringo tax... a pleasure.

As you can see, they claim to be open 24 hours, free admission on your birthday, and the 30 sol daytime lunch/massage special. They also promise some sort of show on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturdays after 8:30 pm.

RT here. I was going through my notes and I forgot to mention that Lion's Spa takes credit cards, not only for the house fees (admission, massage, food, etc.), but also for the girls' tips. They add 5% for using a credit card.

The receipt below covers 150 soles for the girl, 25 for the massage, 20 entrada, a beverage, and the credit card fee.

So, I got laid, AND I earned points for my next trip!

According to multiple reports on PeruTops, unknowing gringos have been stumbling into Lion's Spa during the late hours, making no pretense of using the facilities, and basically saying, "Hey! Where's the chicks to screw?"

These guys are brought right to where the massage girls wait, make their selections, and are then quoted a price in the neighborhood of 150 dollars (as opposed to the regular price of 150 soles).

So apparently there is a gringo tax, but -- based on my experiences there -- it is selectively enforced.

One solution is to just not go there. I will continue to visit Lion's, but I don't go late at night, I do use the sauna facilities, I speak a little Spanish, and I will confirm the price during the interview.

Lion's Spa is still a good place to go: the facilities are good, the girls are on the high-end of acceptable, and the pricing is fair. Just act like you've been there before.

This doesn't happen very often in Lima. I hope it isn't the start of a trend.

I just returned from a trip to Lion's Spa following in RT's footsteps. My Spanish skills are minimal at best and I stumbled through the experience with much less grace than RT but it was worth the effort. I arrived around 4:00pm May 5th. The girl at the desk I didn't understand very well and was offering the $150 treatment (not sure what it involved) which I declined.

I checked in and after getting into my towel there were 3 or 4 girls checking me out out at the door. One girl wanted to take me for a massage right away and another girl Ashley got my attention as well but I told her I wanted sauna first before massage. She responded by leading me to the sauna and giving me a quick package grab and smiling coyly which isn't fair.

All the girls were very attractive, and seemed much more busty than a lot of the Peruvian girls. Ashley also had the world class butt. She was not the cutest one there but also had really large natural breasts, medium build, and extremely well-built. I'd guess she was early 20's. I ended up taking her not only because I liked what I saw but she also spoke a little English.

I'm not sure how RT described it but the sauna has a window and also with the girls walking around and vying for customers there was not much in the way of privacy. I felt like I was in the fish tank as Ashley and another girl were looking in and smiling.

After the sauna I picked Ashley for a "massage". A guy led me upstairs to a massage room. Ashley came in gave me a perfunctory massage for about 5 minutes turned me over and worked me up. She then offered sex for $150 (apparently I get the Gringo rate). I said no, "150 soles not dollars" she said no, and then we negotiated to 175 soles. She had me sign the tip bill so I felt confident I wouldn't be charged something else in the end.

Ashley like RT's Katie was also good at working the massage table. She did a BBBJ and sex in several positions covered of course. Highlights included an astonishing rear view as well as the large tits bouncing in my face. I didn't appreciate the seemingly fake moaning. I also didn't last all that long so the session was maybe 10 or 15 minutes, but she certainly knew her business and I left a happy customer.

I stuck around for a beer afterwards. One of the girls chatted with me for a bit. I think she was looking for "massage" business then realized I had been with Ashley. She was very cute but didn't have quite the body as Ashley.

I got dressed and paid using a credit card. The bill came to 211 soles including the beer and the surcharge. As I left the door guy shook me down and I gave him a few soles which he seemed ok with.

I thought it was a fun experience but the sort of wham-bam aspect of it wasn't quite my thing. However the quality of the girls was great. For a massage and being treated like king, Relax y Vida was a better experience for me, but I realize it's a different kind of place.

The routine is as always, and the extra large (upon request) towels were in good supply.

It seems that things are more or less back to normal after the police intervention on many 'clandestine brothels' in the Lima area a few months back.

There were eight girls working when I was there. All in their white 'therapist' outfits, but the high heels, tight pants and bulging cleavages left no impression other than HOOKER.

RT here. I went to Lions Spa last Friday afternoon.

The current entry price is 30 Soles, and that includes lunch from Monday to Friday (the deal changes frequently). The lunch consisted of chicken noodle soup and escabche de pollo. It was good, but probably the worst meal I had all week here in Lima. But for the price (free), you can't really complain.

I guess the political pressure is off these days, as the 'massage' girls were all prancing around, looking more like hookers than usual. A few of them even entered into the sauna area to get first crack at us. I didn't get pricing info on the 'adicionals', but the girls were very upfront as to what they would do to us, once they got us in the massage room.

With one exception, the girls all ran to a type, and the only word that I can think of to describe it is 'voluptuous'... they all had huge (and apparently natural) tits, tiny waists, and some very impressive butts. Think Jessica Rabbit, except shorter and with a Spanish accent, and you'll get the idea. These aren't girls that you see in Lima every day.

There were also three or four more demurely dressed girls there, too. I can only assume that they are available for a 'therapeutic' massage. The pricing board mentioned all types of options.

The facilities were all in good repair. If I lived in Lima, I would spend more time at Lions Spa, but on a 10-day visit, I am too busy trying to fit everything in and can't get there as often as I would like.

RT here. I stopped into Lions Spa for a few hours last Thursday during the day. I got there just around noon, and I was client #2. When I left at 3:45, they were up to #38, so it seems like Business as Usual.

The Steam room was in excellent shape. They finally figured out how to keep both the inner and outer Steam room doors closed... that was always a problem. The showers worked and had lots of hot water and pressure.

Speaking of Business as Usual, there were at least four girls there in tight dresses with their boobs hanging out. I smiled at three of them while I was in the lounge area, and all three came by to give me a sales pitch. Servicio is now 220 Soles, and I did not ask what the house fee was on top of that. I declined all three of their offers, but one of them was really made saying 'no' difficult.

I did, however, approach one of the Therapeutic Massage Women, and was quoted 70 soles for 50 minutes. I told her where my sore spots were and she said she would work on it. Fiorella gave an excellent massage, and looked ten years younger than the 45 that she claimed to be (although I didn't see her with her clothes off). Sometime during the massage, she changed into shorts and a tank top and looked pretty good at that. She did offer a hand job at the end, but gracefully accepted my decline. I felt better when I was done, and the hug and really nice kiss she gave me afterwards earned her a 30 sol tip (I didn't ask, but the HJ probably would have been 50).

I've said it before, and I stand by it: Lions is pretty ideal. You can get whatever you need done, clear out you sinuses, get lunch, and use as many towels as you'd like with nobody giving you a hard time. And they take credit cards.

Admission is still 30 Soles. And agua con gas has skyrocketed to 5 soles.
