Take the metro to Tatuape. Turn left when exit Subway. There is only on way to exit. Take the next left down to road level and take intercity bus(#299). There is one every 15 minutes most days. Starts at 6am and stops at 12midnight. It will take you to airport for $3.80R. Some bus back to Tatuape for metro. The bus takes about as same as the Airport bus from Tiete bus terminal @ $29R.

Thanks. How safe is the Tatuape stop if you have luggage (one carry-on bag for example). I've been there before but it's been a long time.

The taxis are sure getting expensive these days in Sampa. About 128 reias for a taxi comun from GRU to Brooklin (where the Hyatt, Hilton, and Sheraton are) and 120 to get back; I'm guessing maybe 15 or 20 reais less to the Paulista area. Although I'm not a great fan of using buses and subways upon arrival after a long plane flight (or even a short one), with these sorts of prices I can see some justification in doing so. However, insofar as Brooklin is concerned, there are no metro stations. Moreover, after the bus ride I took yesterday, I would want to make sure the bus isn't going to be so crowded there would be a problem with luggage.
