Have you checked out info on Cabo of late? A hurricane TRASHED much of the town just a few weeks ago. In fact, the main highway was washed out, which cut off the tip of baja from the rest of the world. (This may be fixed by now)

Many of the beach side restaurants and hotels were all but destroyed based on what was reported and shown. (Of course, we all know that the media tends to focus on the worst areas of damage)

Might want to check on the condition of things, before you head down. I'd be interested in hearing about what you do find, both before you go, and once you get there.

I was in Cabo in May of 1999 and April of 2000, so it was awhile back. In May 1999, I did Lord Black but couldn't get any real action. Same story with Mermaids (didn't go to 20/20, Splash, or Boleros). Ended up with a street gal that was decent but it was a dangerous mission. I ended up in some ghetto ramshackle joint and wondered when I was going to get knifed - made it through and paid $150 for the full program and an hour (room was $10).

Had much better time in April 2000. Went to 20/20 right off the bat and the quality of the chicks was damn good and also a good ratio of gals to guys. As I recall, I paid $80 for four songs and then $40 to the gal for a BJ. The gal's name was Janet and she was a 10+.

Also had better luck in Lord Black this time. They have two or three private rooms, as opposed to the stalls with the curtains. For $100, I got the room for 30 minutes (no bed, just a couch or chair). Then, I had to bargain for the services. I believe I settled on $60 for the full program. If you go with this program, ask for the room that has the one-way mirror so that you can look back out at the dancers as you enjoy (and, of course, they can't see you !!!).

I always stay at La Concha in La Paz; its relatively inexpensive and right on the beach where you can swim (5 minutes outside the main drag-which is on the bay --dirty water no swimming). You can rent hobie cats and small boats right from the hotel. The place is modern and clean, about 80 per night if I recall. In Cabo- I like Pueblo Bonito Blanco, costs about $200.00 per night. Don't lose your novia in Cabo. the hotels are not chica-friendly (except for Mar de Cortez).

I always stay at the Hacienda Beach Hotel. It has a great beach right on Modano Bay. Also, it is right by the marina so you are able to walk to town and not have to pay for a cab. All the bars and restaurants are right there. I would recommend taking a cab to the Westin for a good seafood dinner.

I always stay at Marina Sol Resort. They are apartments that you can rent they are 120 a night and big all have balconies full kitchens etc. Real nice....stay with my novia all the time...

Maximus, It is about 1000 miles to Cabo. Can be done in 2 days but I would suggest taking 3. Flights are available from San Diego on Alaska, and Delta. Takes 2 hours, direct.

It is actually 1200 miles and well worth the trip. You have to do it at least once if you have the time. It is a great drive and beautiful vistas at various points along the way. Yes the flight is easier, but still to make the drive is awesome!

I have made the drive probably 25 times over the years but do it rarely anymore because I have everything down there that I need. Drive can be made in 19-20 hours drive time if in a hurry. It has sections that are truly beautiful but most is desert driving. You have to pay attention at all times because the road can be very dangerous
and help can be hour off. There is very little shoulder on the side of a narrow road(by US standards) and trucks and busses take the center line away ofter. Very easy 2 day drive if you spend a night in Mulege or Loreto.

I will be there as well; I recently bought a house in Pedregal and will be down in CSL every other month. I was there 2 weeks ago and it was great- but you wouldn't know unless you spent alot of money. There is only one secret to Cabo and it's: be prepared to pay. It's not for the penny-pinchers. Boiero is the best bet IMHO, but you have to pay for the quality. 300 or more per night will get you a good time--with a chica that clicks with you. Otherwise, you'll just get taken. If you don't want to pay that, save your money and party in TJ.

For cheaper times with average looking girls your best bet is La Paz. Check the archives for the bars outside of town and Vicky's. You'll pay about $100 at Vickys to take back to hotel.

Checked out the Cabo scene on a Tuesday night. Started at Cabo Wabo, a club co-owned by Sammy Hagar. The place was packed...a dude was crowd surfing when I walked in. Lots of college chicas as well as some tourists a little older.

Headed across the street to Splash&Mermaids. Mermaids had about 6 dancers and three customers, Splash was closed. Girls were 6 or 7 on the hot scale.
