will be going to San Carlos soon and would like any information on the mongering scene there or Guaymas. I saw one post reporting the girls like to spend the night in Guaymas, but no detailed information on where to find these girls. I will report back after my trip.

There is a strip club right on the waterfront in Guaymas harbor. I dont think there is anything in San Carlos.

I just spent Feb. 17-19th in San Carlos. I didn't find any topless bars or spots for obvious mongering, but their are a few clubs where you can pick up on the local girls. Unfortuntately, this town is heavily dominated by American tourists and so prices are high. Most of the bars are loaded with wealthy tourists, so dress smartly and bring a wad of dough if you want to try and compete.

On Saturday night I went into Guaymas to check out the action. A friend told me to check out the area near the town square next to the docks. I found the club that he recommended was closed. It looked like it had been gutted and chained shut. Across the street was a new place (I don't remember the name, but that doesn't matter much since I believe it's the only strip club in Guaymas now).

It was a small place with one long central stage. There were about 12 girls working and most of them were 6-8's with a couple 9's and a couple 2-3's. They'll take dollars here, but they screw you on the exchange rate. Table dances are $6 and privates are $11. I got one of each from two different dancers and was disappointed with both experiences. I'm used to the hot and heavy action in Nogales. As in most places YMMV depending on the girl.

My friend asked about bringing a girl back with us to San Carlos and we were quoted $100 for one hour. It was never made clear if that time started when we left the club or when we got to San Carlos. I wasn't too keen on paying $100 in the club and hoping for things to work out back in San Carlos, so we skipped.

Next door to the strip club there's a disco. My friend wasn't too interested, so someone else might want to check this out and report.

Back toward the town square we hit a little dance bar. The live music wasn't bad and it seemed to be a place to meet working girls who would dance with you and maybe negotiate for more. We got there pretty late, so most everyone was drunk and ready to leave.

I also saw a lot of streetwalkers outside this area earlier in the evening.

Overall, this place can't compete with Nogales. We stopped their on the way back to Tucson and had a fine time, as usual.

Why didn't I pick one up? Many reasons. I was with a friend and we had planned to check out the local bars. The streetwalkers weren't particularly attractive. It was Saturday night and there seemed to be a lot of other options.

By the time we decided to head back to San Carlos it was about 1am and we didn't see any girls worth stopping for on the way out. If I was staying longer I might try to hook up with one.

I forgot to mention this. Although the table and private dances could not compete with what I've found in Nogales, the stage show was much better. For much of the evening, there were multiple girls on stage at any given time.

Later in the night a few did some great little shows. One poured a beer over herself and made a great sensual show of touching herself. Her wet body looked fantastic under the stage lights.

We had a great time watching the shows. It's just a shame that the dance tickets weren't worth it. Again, I imagine that YMMV and if your Spanish is good you can make a good time of it. It's too bad that there aren't any clubs competing with this place (that I know of).

I gather you are talking about the new strip club in Guaymas, the one near the town square, near the docks.

I was in Guaymas about a year or so ago, but I don't remember seeing any clubs, but it was daytime, and I was in a car filled with too many chicas and too little air conditioning.

Thanks for the info Frenchie. What was it about the table dance and privates that disapointed....no touching allowed? Attitude? From the sounds of the stage show I think I will check it out for that alone, but was wondering what the problems with the one on one stuff was.

Touching was pretty limited, the dances didn't last long at all, and the hot girls all had too much attitude. This last point isn't terribly surprising in most places, but the attitudes seemed a bit too much here. I believe that's because too many rich, rich gringos go down to San Carlos and Guaymas. They have ruined it for anyone who is not Mexican.

If looks aren't important to you, I think you can have a pretty good time with the older or chunky girls. They didn't get a lot of attention and I had fun flirting with them. I was only amusing myself since they didn't really interest me. I can't see paying for someone I'm not attracted to. But there always seems to be someone out there for everyone and if you like one of these non-superstar girls then you're in luck.

Another big problem was language. None of the girls spoke the slightest bit of English and my Spanish is still too rudimentary. It's pretty frustrating since I speak four languages; unfortunately, none of them are Spanish. Sure, I can handle the numbers and ask for all the basics, but you can't have a conversation like this. Real communication makes the encounter more than a quick "oil change". Here things are done differently than in Nogales and because of the rich gringo market, negotiation skills were critical. I just didn't have the Spanish to pull it off successfully.

It's never good to over generalize. I think that more people need to post here since my one Saturday night might not be typical. We need some independent verification.

Was San Carlos last weekend. Stopped by Karol's Sport Bar. It is a same situp as the clubs in Nogales. The VIP dances are 100 peso for five minutes. Prices are a little lower than Nogales. Saw Gadiya who worked in Placer's and then Black Lords about ten months ago. About eight ladies working on Friday and Saturday night. A couple of pretty ladies and other so so looking ladies.

I just got back from my trip to San Carlos and found the following.....
Karols is a strip bar in Guaymas...located about 1.5 miles into town on the right side of the street....big sign says Karols sports bar...but no other indication it is a strip bar. We went in about 9:30 and it was pretty slow...picked up about 10:30...probably about 12 girls...rate from 3 to 7 or so. The ticket seller told us it was 50 peso's for a table and 100 peso's for vip....no one ever did a table dance while we were there. My rec is to book yourself into the Hotel Armida in Guaymas-stay out of San Carlos. Ask for the manager and give him a $20.00, then say you're looking for some good clubs to hang out in (for girls). He'll tell you-then if he likes you he'll take care of you personally with some "private stock." There are very pretty girls around but you won't find them working the strip joints. You'll need to get connected. As for clubs, Las Playitas was the best ("booth fucks" and BJ's) but it has closed. Apparantly, a new club has opened that may rival it. Guaymas is not a mongering destination but if you are resourseful and can get by in Spanish, you can have a great time. The Armida is the best hotel in town and I'd recommend a suite on the top floor. Better than any TJ hotel and not expensive. Bringing in a chica won't be a problem.

plan on 5 to 6 hours from Nogie. For cheaper travel take the bus from Nogales only about 14.00. Also, your so close to Obregon spend some time there. Hotels 2 blocks from the bus station and close to Lord Black are only 150.00 mex. nice room, cable tv. The Obregon Plaza hotel, 1200.00 mex. is near Carlos TD if I remember right Better than LB. Prices are 1/2 to 2/3 of Nogie. you can take girls to the Plaza. Never asked them to bring up beer or condoms, so I don't know.

You know, some of us Nogie mongers ought to start thinking about a trip to Hermosillo. By my map, it looks to be only about 225 miles from Nogales. Anyone think they'd be up for something like that? (We'd need at least one good Spanish speaker).

Was in San Carlos a few weeks ago having happy hour drinks at "Froggies" (bar just east of Gary's dive shop) and noticed a nice looking gal sitting by herself at the bar and seeming to be scoping out all the single gringos. I travel to San Carlos every year and 'Froggies' is the only action in town. There are usually a couple of semi-pros at the bar and do like to please. These comments are confirmed by the 'gringo' locals.

I was just in San Carlos about a week ago with my current Mexican girlfriend (hence, I didn't get to check out the monger side of things). I did notice some place called Horse Black on the main drag that looks like a strip bar ('table dance' advertised on their sign out front). In terms of general clubs, the place was pretty dead--we went to what was purportedly the big disco in town and it was deserted when we left at 11:30 on a Friday night. Thus it seemed to me like a not too happening monger town, but an EXCELLENT place to take a girl from Hermosillo or elsewhere (cool beaches and water). I intend to go back soon. There were also LOTS of hotties in the vicinity so guys with good hunting skills in the non-mongering game might do well there.

The beaches and water are never "cool" in Sonora.
The Sea of Cortez AKA Gulf of California is a very warm body of water.
If you want cool beaches you have to go further south to Mazatlan.

My apologies Cheftaz. I was born in Minnesota and, as a boy, I used to go swimming in its cool, clear lakes in the summer. To me 68 degrees sounds refreshing, not frigid.

I will remember your info next time I want to go to a Sea of Cortez beach: go early in the year around April or May.

I just returned from a beach near Obregon and the water felt like a tepid bath to me. Not appealing to a Minnesota boy. Lots of Mexicans enjoying it though!
