I found that there are 2 different 'sex' motels here, similar to El Parador, but less elegant.
Motel Ares is near the intersection of the main highway and the road to Topolobampo. Its 300 pesos for a night, but the rooms are rather spartan.
The motel El Pueblito is a little nicer, but cheaper at 140 pesos per night, with the jacuzzi rooms going for 240. This place is out on the road to Ahome.
No bars nearby, so the idea is to bring your own chica. How you find chicas here remains TBD.

Thanks, Explorer. This is the only first hand info I've been able to find. Maybe someone else will see the post and chime in. The 240 peso rooms with jacuzzis sound like the way to go. I suspect the cab drivers will help with the rest if no one does.

I plan to go back to Mochis, without bringing along a chica to cramp my style (actually, I plan to bring several chicas, but plan to deliver them to their homes, and not see them again until time to return). Next time, I will check out the scene in greater detail.

Doesn't look like anyone knows much about Los Mochis. We have a chance to break new ground here.
By Explorer8939 on Thursday, August 09, 2001 - 07:29 pm: Edit |
Second hand, I am told that there are chicas at the Catalina Hotel bar, but I can neither confirm or deny this info.
Let us know how it works out on your trip.

All I know about Mochis is that there are alot of chicas in the Nogales, Sonora strip bar scene that are from there. Samantha, Extasis, Ruth, and a few others off the top of my head.
There must be a place where they get started there and then move on to Nogi & other places.
BTW, these are all lookers too. ;-)
Good luck,
Nogi_boy

Yeah, there are many, many chicas FROM Los Mochis in TJ and elsewhere, the problem is that they don't like to work in their home town.
By nogi_boy on Friday, August 10, 2001 - 01:15 pm: Edit |
It prolly wouldn't take very long for someone to tell Mommy that daughter is "working" in a small town like Mochis. Now, if they care what daughter does or not is another story altogether.
By Bubba17 on Saturday, August 11, 2001 - 09:14 am: Edit |
Yep - I got a favorita in Nogales who's from Mochis and is quite the looker. She said she worked in TJ for two days, then ran for her life! Nogales offers good money for a lot less "work". They can make in 5 minutes what TJ girls make in 30. Maybe that's why Nogales has so many hotties for such a small town.
By Bullitt on Sunday, August 12, 2001 - 03:17 am: Edit |
Having been to both cities, I have to agree. The girls in Nogales are beautiful and its in such in a low traffic area compared to TJ. But its also true, when you got some action in the privado rooms, you gotta move quick to get your rocks off.

Well, thanks, that's a lot more information than I had a week ago. I will be there December 22-29 and will have time to explore the place. I will certainly post when I get back.
By Dreamingeagle on Wednesday, October 24, 2001 - 11:17 am: Edit |
Just a note to hopefully stimimulate more information. Can't decide if I really want to make this trip or not.
By Porker on Thursday, October 25, 2001 - 03:40 am: Edit |
Dude, do it. It´s not the normal way either of us like to ´explore´, but if you can find a taxi driver that you hit it off with, they´ll hook you up. There´s stuff there, I guarantee it.
By Dreamingeagle on Tuesday, October 30, 2001 - 02:06 pm: Edit |
Yeah, there has to be. I mean, it's Mexico, right?

Dreaming Eagle;
will be in the area around the same time. Plan to arrive in Chiuaua city 12/26 and then take the train to los mochis via copper canyon. If you have any info please post, also am interested in any alternative to back to back 13 hr train trips, such as low cost flights etc.(one way)
I got a cheap fare to el paso so i'll be approaching the canyon from the east, (ie juarez to chiuaua by bus). As much as i'm looking foward to thr train trip, two 13 hr days is a big investment in mongering time.
Am intersted in your thoughts and what your itinerary is.
thanks , Perorojo
By Dreamingeagle on Tuesday, December 18, 2001 - 05:13 pm: Edit |
I'm afraid I will not be making the trip after all due to financial considerations, but it will definitely be on the back burner for the future. I have not been able to find much information, however, and I have no idea about other ways of getting back. I had planned to take the train both ways. But I hope you do go, however, and that you post when you have time. The ol' budget just would not stand the strain, so I plan to spend the week at my apt. in Juárez.

Perorojo,
Possible a friend of mine will be on or near your flight and same day on the Chihuahua-Creel segment, but then he's off the train for one day at least in Creel, before resuming Creel-Los Mochis (El Fuerte, actually). He's also looked into alternatives for Los Mochis-Chihuahua and has not found anything great, so he's considering a roundabout on the bus: Los Mochis (well, El Fuerte)-Culiacan (!), Culiacan-Mazatlan (!!), and then two more bus rides, either Mazatlan-Parral or Mazatlan-Durango and then Parral/Durango-Chihuahua. That of course involves more days but at least the Culiacan and Mazatlan stops are guaranteed entertaining. Do you have a specific itinerary for ELP-Chihuahua that you'd recommend? My friend was thinking of just taking a taxi from the ELP airport to the border, walking across and getting to the Central de Camiones, and taking a bus from there.
By Perorojo on Wednesday, December 19, 2001 - 12:09 pm: Edit |
JBJ;
From El Paso bus station (downtown at convention center) there is a $5 bus direct to central de camiones. Then it's 4.5 hr.s to Chihuahua city. I figure arrive early afternoon and see what mongering possibilities exsist (anyone with info please post.). Then up early next day to meet the train. I have considered an overnight in Creel, I've also considered only going to Creel and then taking a bus back to Chihuahua city and hence back to Juarez. There is an internal battle going on between the railfan in me and the drunken-mongering fan. As far as your freinds proposed itinerary is concerned, it adds up to over $100 in bus fares and something like 30 hr.s in bus riding. whow! AereoMexico will fly you back from Los mochis to Juarez for around $300. An alternative i'm considering is Los mochis to Hermosillo followed by Hermosillo to Nogales, a night in Nogales to take in the fabled clubs, and then Greyhound back to Juarez. The problem here is Greyhound wants $85 for the nogales - El paso leg. Do mexican buses run nogales to Juarez? The map shows only marginal roads over the mtn.s. Also the train is not a gimme either, they want $100 each way. I don't have a problem here as it's the last passenger rr option in mexico. Let me know what your friend decides.
Dreaming Eagle;
Sorry to here about your change of plans. Name a club and a time on wed.s the 26th and all come looking for you and buy the 1st drink. I'm a TJ, NL and DF vet but a Juarez newbie.
thanks
Perorojo

One night in Juarez = 1 week in Los Mochis, if the issue is mongering.

I once saw a "tourist" book which described Los Mochis as "Los Mochis sucks". But I've never been there...
By Explorer8939 on Friday, October 26, 2001 - 07:38 am: Edit |
If I can get myself down to Los Mochis without a chica with me, I will truly investigate and return a report.
By Dreamingeagle on Friday, October 26, 2001 - 11:29 am: Edit |
Hopefully, it will be before December, Explorer. Or, if I do not change my mind, I will be reporting in early January.
Who is to say what is to be found in any town in Mexico? The toursist reports can add to nothing, or they can tell the whole story.
Just can't decide. But I can't imagine any town in Mexico without pussy...
The question is how much and how easy to find?
By Perorojo on Saturday, December 15, 2001 - 02:58 pm: Edit |

Absolutely love Mochis and the gal I brought there...I just hope its not the same chica Explorer delivered previously!
Friends Disco at The Plaza Inn on Leyva is a jammed nightclub with no formal dance area....and live band playing rock en Espanol....had a great New Years there this year as it was a bit more tranquilo. It is a late night destination...so do not expect much action prior to 11pm. The girls while not TJ caliber, are very friendly, and from my limited exposure seem loose enough.
The hotel itself is the best in Mochis(as Explorer will attest)at about 80 bucks a night with business discount. Full amenities ...and staff at reception are fully bilingual. I prefer the sex hotels as they are half price and more comfortable(No Credit Cards) Two I can reccomend are Orinoco and Esgar...both are closer to the highway coming into town, but close enough to centro. Room service as far as snacks and alcohol. Great garage for your vehicle. May be full on weekend evenings.
On Leyva going towards Colonia Texas next to an OXXO(Mex.7-11) is Mochis version of Las Chavelas called Meson I think. It is a restaurant with seafood and low key ladies bar. The girls are none to fine...but I visited with GF in afternoon..maybe better at night. Live band at night as well! My chica kept pushing me to see what the girls charge, but all ladies were occupado and so was I...did not feel right about it. Good news, the chicas all drink big beers..no fichas that I could tell.
The beach is 15 minutes from centro and very pretty.....did a little fishing...all I caught was my arm!
I am giving serious thought to living there...but still not sure. No traffic...and I was stopped twice in 15 minutes by the same cop...and no mordita. Very friendly place.
Chicas in the colonias are muy guapa..so you need to get outta centro to find them.

I prefer not to put this on the board although anyone interested can Email me and I'll give you the low down on Los Mochis. You won't find the good looking ones working in the bars. The Motels that you mention & a few others will arrange for girls to come to the motel 3 at a time for your choice. The girls actually work out of houses on the S.E. part of town and you can go there an make your choice if you wish. Prices range from $30 ~ $60 and range from 7 ~ 9 in looks. The tens are there but taken very early as the local men know who to ask for and plan for special days well in advance. .........Turn the page, MuleLip

lived in mochis for 2 years as an english teacher..LOTS of great looking girls!!!These are the best I've seen anywhere in Mexico.....There's a great strip club about 3 miles out of "el centro" on independencia...good looking girls and very friendly...as everywhere in Los Mochis
By Explorer8939 on Saturday, June 28, 2003 - 07:20 pm: Edit |
And where else are there chicas in Mochis? Last summer, I drove around all night looking just for a bar.
By Haaamean on Saturday, July 05, 2003 - 05:51 pm: Edit |
all of the bars are kind of hidden and they aren't real advertised I actually worked around the university a while so I got invited to quite a few places....so you kind of have to be connected....while that may be something impossible for most people ..they definitely have the best looking women...I'm not talking about prostitutes...but nevertheless very good looking girls everywhere
By Explorer8939 on Saturday, July 05, 2003 - 06:09 pm: Edit |
I am painfully aware of the nice non-working chicas in Mochis. The question is where the mongering opportunities are.
