With an ambience better suited to taking a nap than getting off on hot young latinas-- of which there were precious few, desafortunadamente-- I cannot in good conscious recommend this particular stripclub/ficha bar...
The routine is two fully-clothed dances to pop songs, followed by a two-song intermission during which Cabana's cowboy-hat-and-boots clientele trot out the fichera of their choice for a whirl around the dance floor to the music of Banda Limon, or whoever...After that, the dancer reappears for the finale, in which she disrobes to her thong and occasionally beyond...
And that's about it, basically...Many of the girls actually live in rooms provided by Cabana at the back of the bar, but it was clearly evident that this is first and foremost a ficha bar and any extras "afuera" will need to be independently arrived at thru negotiation...Do not even bother looking for the lap-dance area; it doesn't exist...
For those of you that are gringo-averse, rest assured that if you check this place out, you WILL be the only gringo in attendance...
The club is clean, tho, with two billiard tables beyond the bar area and respectful and attentive meseros...Oh yeah, its Bar to the left, and chicas to the right...Upon entering, you will be looking directly at the dance floor, which, interestingly, uses as its backdrop a black velvet rendition of Marilyn Monroe standing over the air vent in "The Seven-Year Itch"...
From a looks perspective I can recommend Marianne-- a Yadhira Carillo-esque classic brunette, and the nineteenish and thin Paola...But generally speaking, way too many of the girls were a touch on the heavy side-- not entirely unlike Hacienda or Carreta here in Tijuana...
Upon entering Mexicali from the Toll Road, take a right at the statue (Benito Juarez?-- help, anyone?) on to Lazaro Cardenas and proceed about a mile and a half-- La Cabana will be on the left hand side...Make a U-turn at the next light and pull into their guarded lot...Its always nice to tip the attendant upon leaving-- 10 pesos or whatever...

I popped into La Cabana on Tuesday night to find that tho the bar is still struggling, it does appear to be trying to get-up to speed...It apparently has decided to leave 1975 behind, and move into the 1990s-- perhaps from there the place can be coaxed into welcoming-in the year 2000...
For starters, it has ditched the billiard tables and installed a modern-looking bar (the old one featured 70s-era woodpaneling) along the far left wall...It has also seen fit to put another dance floor where the old bar sat...
It has ditched the funky dance format that previously provided time for a couple of Norteno standards while everyone was waiting for the dancer's final song...Now, the dancer dances her 3 songs consecutively, which makes a bit more sense, I think...
Privados apparently ARE available now, to the right of the new bar area and behind some mirrored paneling...
The newhire in the DJ booth actually is able to enunciate, a fresh change from the old DJ who often times sounded as if he were slurring into a CB radio somewhere out on Highway 2...
On the negative side, that tacky Black-Velvet get-up of Marylyn Monroe continues to be featured promininently behind the dance floor, and the lineup continues to suck pretty bad from a looks perspective...
Rumor has it that the Owners of Miau-Miau have bought the place and are trying to professionalize it; I have no doubt that their operational wizards are systematically analyzing every aspect of the business...

I recently visited Mexicali, while i was there my friends took me to La Cabaņa, a local strip club, most of the girls there were good looking and very accesible, the price wasn't bad either, only $4 cover(which includes 1 beer) and $7 per drink for a girl, you really dont have to spend a lot of money in this place to have a good time, we went there at about 3 am and the party was still going. If you know how to talk to the girls, you can get away with a lot of stuff that you would normally have to pay for. During our visit we hooked up with 1 girl for about 1 hour and all we had to pay for was only 1 drink for her.

La Cabaņa has tremendous potential. Out back is what appears to have been a motel at one time. It would be nice for Bar San Diego to have some competition.

I have been here before, the place is a bit of a hole in the wall. Not too many girls were present on a Saturday night, and had to have a few stiff drinks to make them look like 5's. We had a few table dances, non too special, though did have one girl who gave me a hell of a Handy under my shorts, but was whisked away when the song ended. wanted a privado from her but didnt see her again. hour later i picked another for the privado, she seemed promising out front, but once in the back she just wasn't there. first song she wouldn't let me touch her, the second song she sat on my lap reverse cowgirl, and after that i pushed her off and left with only paying for 1 privado. had too of been 3 years ago, maybe things have changed, who knows? Someone out there let me know if it has changed. Thanks.
