Calle Obregon is the place closest to the border for straight dance clubs. The Jungle et al are right close to the border. Farther down on the east side is a dance club which I believe used to be called La Morada but I am not sure what it's called presently. Then a little further south on the east side is Gitano's. I have frequented LM and Gitano's and both are full of Las Mexicanas. Obviously, the farther south you go, the less gringo's you see, which I prefer.

There is a newer disco called "El Pasaje" on the second block (South) on the East side (same side as Fray Marcos) on Calle Obregon. It's on the second story of one of the curious shops. They hang out a white sheet style billboard advertising. I was there a few weeks ago and there were two very nice looking waitreses that I would not mind going back to look for.
They play every style of music from mex pop to 80's, disco and banda. Nice atmosphere and inexpensive ( 3 drinks = $5.00).
I tipped the waitress $4.00 on the third round and she thought it was too much. I wanted to keep her coming back. ;)
We sat in the balcony over looking Obregon and could see Koko Loco's, La Jungla, Kookaracha's, and some of the other clubs up the street. Nice place. Oh, they also have Karaoke if there is interest, otherwise they play music.
I'll be back.

Actually the weather, IMHO, is absolutely the best during this time. Daytime temps may get into the middle 80's but very dry, and the temps at night may get a bit cool 50-60's.
I agree with your friend, Nogales is about 100 times smaller than TJ, but a lot more safer. All of the strip clubs are right next to the border, and all the dance clubs are a few blocks away.
The ratero problem is but a fraction of the trouble in Nogales as it is in TJ. Actually I feel safer walking around Nogie, than in certain parts of Tucson or Phoenix.

I have checked out the dance clubs down here. Success can be had with local Mexicanas and american girls 18-21. The best bars are Coco Loco and La Jungla. Coco Loco gets packed on Fri-Sat with Chicanos and Chicanas from Tucson as well as Locals. They play rap all night. La Jungla plays salsa, mexican techno, mexican pop, and american pop. The whitey count is lower in La Jungla.

coco loco sounds like they have a bunch of vatos in there. especialy if they have fools from tucson driving down there to drink at 18 - sounds like a typicaly rev ave whitey bar.
la jungla sounds kool and i will check it out most definately
do they play cumbia or banda ?
and any clubs you know that play just banda and cumbia ?
thanks
