Hola, mongers.
Hey, I'm very intruiged by the concept of "semi-pros" in Nogie. If anyone can answer any of these questions, I'd sure appreciate it - and so would may others, I suspect.
1. What is a semi-pro? (just a non-dancer chica that's doing a little moonlighting?)
2. Where do you find semi-pros in Nogie? And when?
3. What is their M.O.? (You approach them? They apporach you? You buy them drinks? Who brings up sex first? Do you have to "beat around the bush" with them re:sex for a while first?)
4. How are they different in the sack than pros?
5. What's the pricing structure like?
6. Are they more short-timers or toda noche chicas?
7. Do they tend to be older/younger than pros?
8. How do they look relative to pros?
9. How do you spot one?
10. Are you more/less likely to get ripped-off by them?
Any help is greatly appreciated. If I can find some and hook up with them, reports will follow ;-)

THIS IS WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT!!
(post below taken from a Juarez thread)
"Went to the Don Felix bar last Saturday. It just across the street from the Kentucky Club on Juarez Ave. (about a block up). Had lot of new chicas working. Its a regular bar that allows the girls to freelance. Lately there have been a bunch of amatures working. I must have counted 15 chicas on Saturday. Martha, a regular said that due to the poor economy she had been seeing a lot more competition. The waiters are friendly and the beers are cold. Its a great place just to practice your Spanish - the girls drinks are regular prices and chances are she's working so you can take her to the hotel next door. Its a nice alternative to the expensive strip clubs and high pressure hooker joints."
Anyone? Anyone?

Mr. Bill:
I've enjoyed your posts.
I'll tell you of my one semi-pro experience, from over one year ago.
Jessie, a well known hustler, that I've most recently (one week ago) seen in Placer's, agreed to take two other mongers and myself looking for action, outside the clubs.
Importantly, one of the other monger's grew up in Mexico City, and was of course fluent in Spanish and the culture. The other monger had the balls to be driving a company van from the U.S. all around Nogales.
First, Jessie showed us the way to a hotel, maybe two miles from the border. After some banter with the desk clerk, he took us all up to a hotel room. Inside the room was one chica, the was a seven or eight. She offerred her full services for $50, but none of us went for it. I was tempted, but had just had a full service session at Lipstick's.
Next we asked Jessie just to show us a good place to meet non-working chicas. He showed us a place, that had a second floor disco. After asking us for money (I gave him $5, the other two guys gave him nada) he left. I think I might be able to find this place again, but I don't know the name of it. It is on one of the "main drags", maybe a mile from the border.
We eventually discovered that all, or most of the unescorted women at the bar were semi-pros. They were anywhere from 3's to 7's, with my rating putting most of the dancers at the Nogales strip clubs at 5's to 9's.
The guy from Mexico City translated for the other monger and I. BTW, the other non-spanish monger was the Mexican guys boss and I knew him from seeing him in the clubs several times.
It turns out that at the bar was an older woman, that functioned as "The Madam" and ultimately did negotiating for the chicas.
I ended up with a "7", for $50, plus a $10 tip to the madam. This included the chica taking me back to her hotel room for an hour, which was quite a deal, because I learned that most of the other chicas either did not have a hotel room, or were not willing to take any of us back to their own rooms, so there would have been an additional charge for a hotel room.
The session was "OK", but I would rank it at slightly below average for my monger experience. Perhaps this was in part due to my anxiety that I might get "jumped", as I was in totally unfamiliar territory. The chica herself did semi-GFE with some kissing, etc.
In the bar, buying the semi-pros a drink was no more expensive than buying a drink for yourself. I believe it was $2 per drink. One nice thing was the semi-pros seemed interested in "drinking-it-up", and I don't think got any sort of "kickback"
When I returned, I discovered that the other non-Mexican monger took a chica out to the van and got "full-service" from her in the van. He said he only paid her $40.
Later I found out that the Mexican monger had a near-run in with some guys in the bar, while the other monger and I were getting our services. He said "the guys" that tried to start a fight with him were off duty "Mexican Military" and that they really were just trying to get money from him. He said that the madam "rescued" him by asking him to dance, and they stayed on the dance floor until the other guys lost interest.
My obsevations that night are as follows. If you don't know Spanish fairly well, or have someone with you that can translate your chances at the non-stip bars are not good. You are also likely to end up in some sort of fight easily as nearly took place with the monger from Mexico City. I also think that as far as quality of chicas the strip bars are going to be much better.
I'm always up for an adventure, but would only do night-time exploring in the non-tourist areas of Nogales with at least one or two amigos, and at least one should speak Spanish.
Also, I think Jessie, AKA "the hustler", is scum, and should be avoided. I wouldn't trust him to show you around. The chicas he is likely to get for you are likely to be skanks and/or rip you off.
Happy Mongering,
El Tecolote

Thanks for the info, Tecolote. Sounds intriguing but scary... I will certainly not attempt any semi-pro action w/o at least one partner who speaks decent Spanish (not like my Taco Bell variety). Sounds like there are plenty of semi-pro opportunities in Nogie, but maybe few/none without some unsavory aspects to them. I imagine they might resent gringos moving in on their action, and not sticking to 'our side of the tracks'.
It would be nice to find a non-gringo-hostile bar with semi-pros. I'll keep looking...
PS - A couple buddies and me wandered into some small joint a couple blocks South of the border on the West side which seemed to be an older chica "madame" type of arrangement. But the selection was pretty poor and the atmosphere was less than friendly. Don't remember the name of the joint - ain't goin' back.

Tecolite:
I think I have seen that second-floor disco. It is on Obregon, a little bit south of the big municipal building on the east side of the street.
I've often been tempted to go upstairs, but have never done so. I might just go on some weeknight and see how it fares.
