Next door to Applebee's, in the Plaza Real mall on Gonzalitos, across from Liverpool. Regio highly recommended this place to myself and some visitors from the U.S. this past week, and as ALWAYS, his recommendation was spot on. Though his assessment was that the food is similar to the Olive Garden, to me the food was reminiscent of the superior Macaroni Grill. Except the decor and atmosphere was even more upscale than Saverios in TJ. Live opera music last Thursday night, and it was GOOD.
The shocking thing, though, were the prices. Entrees starting at 35 pesos? Upon seeing the place I would have guessed it would have been 4-5x as expensive. Simply amazing.
We did an encore dinner for an amigo's birthday on Sunday night. Again, first class all the way.
Now if they could only open another one within a couple blocks of the Matehuala...

Great idea Prker, maybe we can franchise one close to Matehualo and let the girls have meals on the house in return for ????. Oh yeah and at the same time provide a place for our fellow mongers to eat. HaHa

Ate there again Friday night before going to the local escort's birthday party at the Swinger Bar in Del Valle. The food was again FANTASTIC. 1 person entree, caesar salad and a coke ran me 85 pesos. The atmosphere is nicer than the food. This place is every bit as nice inside as Saverio's in TJ. At less than half the cost...
The live opera music was again featured, and the guy can really sing.

Over six months later and this is still my favorite place to eat in Monterrey.
In fact i liked it so much that I ate there 2 days in a row. Guys if you wanna see some regular non pro Monterrey girls, this is one place to sit and drool.

Again, I highly recommend this place, and the prices are VERY low for the quality. This is upscale dining for MTY and the prices are less than half of what you'd pay in the U.S. Applebees is next door and the food court in the mall has a number of U.S. style options too.
