Is there any street action in Monterrey? Everyone always tells me no, but I would be curious to know if anyone out there knows of a neighborhood / cross streets. I can't imagine a city that large and prosperous would be barren.
Any wisdom to share out there?
Likewise any info on Saltillo or Aguas Calientes would be welcome. Is there a zona in either city? Red light district outside of the clubs? Street action?
Thanks,
AB

Gregorio,
Thanks, I just got back, but would still be interested in the info for future reference. I make it down that way every so often. I couldn't find anything, so didn't end up staying long in either city, just moved on to more familiar territory. However, there is always nextime.
Thanks,
AB

There are street girls working out of a complete hellhole of a hotel at the far edge of the Monterrey Zona. The street is the same street that Krystal Bar is on and about 4 blocks toward Calle Juarez (a major street). I took a rather young looking one up for 130 pesos, including the room (I didn't bargain). She was a decent lay, but a hustler, just like the TJ street girls that I knew and loved. The room was smaller than any JAIL CELL I have ever seen, and reminded me of the Japanese flop places I have heard about that are like luggage racks on a train! Still... Getting LAID by a teenager (late teens, of course) for the price of a steak dinner beats renting pornos.

The only street action that starts by midafternoon is at the Soriana market, 2 blocks north of the Matehuala.
Along Colon street, from Bernardo Reyes Ave. up to Miguel Nieto St., a couple of girls can be found ofering their services.
Quality varies a lot here and the numbers too. You can find 6 tops. Last week after parting ways with my friend Porker, I saw a real long legged beauty walking around Colon., sitting at the bus stop at Miguel Nieto St.
This kind of action stops at nightfall, when the pedestrian traffic dies down and makes them easy marks for the police.

There has been a minor increase in street girl activity working out of the doorway of a hellhole of a 'hotel' (more like an abandoned building with mattresses) on Reforma near the corner of Pino Suarez. There are also girls working across Pino Suarez in the alley where the flea market is that use one of the hotels in the alley. Some of the ones in the alley are actually decently cute, but I haven't taken the plunge with them and can't comment on the quality of the experience other than that the hotel HAS to be better than the place on Reforma proper.
Be VERY careful, though, after ~ 8 PM when the market begins to close as the flea market area gets pretty desolate and the 'chicks' working there suddenly turn towards the old/fat/ugly and include a large number of transsexuals. Of course there are plenty of cops trolling that area too, which may be worse than the normal scum that troll that place after dark...

Infrequently there will also be streetwalkers located on the corners along Madero on weekend nights. They are generally of VERY low quality looks and wearing obviously exaggerated hooker costumes.

MONTERREY TRIVIA TIME:
Who is the sweet, innocent girl from Monterrey, who wrote these lines about an incident in a Mexico City club early in her career in her "tell-all" book?

As an FYI
There is a covered market at Reforma and Pino Suerez, which has, amongh other things, piles of CD's and DVD's. It has suddenly sprouted a small hotel and geuine street girls out in front (about 15 when I was there). I did not partake, so I can add no further information

Prices there go for 100 pesos and 100 for the cheap hotel where they are standing.
STD is free of charge.
If you really go for them, keep watch of all valuables at all time.
