I would like to propose a 2002 Nogales Mongers Convention. I believe the old Nogie vets have staged something like this in the past, and the TJ mongers do it all the time.

I propose that we all meet down there sometime soon. It sounds like a lot of fun to me. Match handles with faces, meet new mongering buddies, swap chica stories, strategies, etc.

I would like to see this happen in the next couple of months. The holidays are over, the chicas are coming back to town, and there may be some new talent running around.

I suggest an early evening rendezvous on a Friday or Saturday. I think the new Titanic Club might be a good place. It's new and out of the way, and we could plan our attacks and move on from there.

I have missed several opportunities to meet some of you perverts, so I say let's get ready to rumble.

Let's try to agree on a date/time/place and do this thing. Sounds like a fucking blast to me.

One thing we might want to consider: taking the final plans off-line (e-mail, etc.) -- so the convention is soley for those dedicated mongers who want to meet up -- not lurkers who might drop by...

Sounds interesting though I don't know about the Titanic. Might be better to meet somewhere with food to build up our strength.

There is a great restaurant called La Gran Fonda. Also there is that little seafood restaurant right across from Cherry's. I think the logistics of Titanic make it difficult.

I know the place, just name the time. Also, has anyone been to Ontario, CA and do you know the type of drive to the border? Leaving Ontario about 4 p.m.? I'm thinking about a quick trip on the 23rd.

I like the restaraunt idea - hadn't thought of that. I would recommend Los Equipales - stuff your face silly with good, authentic mexican food for prolly $5-6.

Where is Los Equipales? I mostly eat at El Greco when I'm down there.

I believe Los Equipales is w/in spitting distance of El Greco (never eaten at El Greco, but I think I've seen it). It is on an East-West street just a few blocks south of the border. Here is the address printed on the menu (yes, I have one):

We should pick a date in Feb on a Saturday so most can make it. It could begin in the afternooon and we can migrate elsewhere in the evening. The more I think about it, it should be at Cherries. It is a central location and monger friendly. We'll notify the doorman we are expecting guests.

A Saturday in Frebruruaury (I could never spell that month correctly) sounds perfect to me. But if we go to Cherry's, I might go postal if I see any of you eyeballing my bestest gal, Leslie. ;-)

Whats the closest airport to Nogie on the north side of la linea?

Also isn't Tuesday nights twofer heaven at some of the Nogie bars?

The tucson airport would probably be the closest. Its about 45 minutes north of the linea.
As far as the two-fers, they are on Tuesday I believe. Im a weekend nogi-phile, a more dedicated enthusiast may answer that more definitively.

btw I just read a post not to long ago that stated there is a shuttle from the airport to the linea. Might want to check it out.

Southwest flies into Tucson, and someone here once took shuttle from airport to border. Just 3/4 months ago. Check the posts. But Nogi has an airport also. I'm looking into charting a plane for tuesday night runs. 4 hour drives is beyond a weekday night for me, but a 90 min flight is possible. Last time I looked( 3/4 years ago) you could find $75hr for charter. Anyone interested? Of course if any of you is a pilot? We could work something out.

Nogales International is about eight miles east of Nogales. It did have a regularly scheduled flight from/to Phoenix about a year or two ago, but it may have been discontinued. There were some really great deals on the Shuttles from Tucson/Phoenix some times as low as $20 RT from Phoenix, $10 from Tucson. Since the Golden State Bus line shutdown though, thing have gotten more expensive.

There are two-fer tuesday deal at Lipsticks and Rios, and unadvertised specials at a
all the other clubs, just ask. I found out that Obsessions sometimes give 2 fer one laps on Tuesdays, and I have gotten the Monday specials on Tuesday at Cherries.
Tuesday is definately a good day to go IMHO.

If landing at Tucson, ask around for the direct shuttles to Nogales, there are two or three that make regular stops at Tucson International, some have coupons in the Spanish newspapers/throways for discounts. Late hours though you'll have to go to S.Tucson unfortunaly. The plus is that the shuttles run almost 24/7 to Nogie.!!

Damn, this sounds like a great idea, only I have to agree with the others on not making the meeting location Titanic, and agree on making it a restaurant. I would like to throw out my vote for a restaurant. Cafe Ajijic. Great little place, and also visited often by local hotties. Who knows might not even leave there. Feb. sounds like a good month too. Gives me time to save up money and maybe even have my tax return by then for a real gooooood time.

Catching up here:
1. Closest airport North of the border = Nogales International (OLS) 122.8 Mhz unicom. Private flights only. All traffic left handed, best approach from the South (03). Manned 07:00-19:00 Hours.
2. I agree on a snack or meal before the mongering, we may never learn much about each other otherwise. ;-)
3. Day of week = somewhat irrelevant although we may get better deals in the beginning of the week.

I think we may have to do it on a weekend in order to acommodate the most mongers (including myself - I generally can't make it down weeknights).

The restaraunt idea is good - I saw we vote on it (location).

If you want to stay in the downtown area, right next to Los Equipales is Los Columpios del General. Both excellent choices. Further North is the restuarant at Fray Marcos De Niza hotel, great tortilla soup!

I would like to try these places if there is time. The strip clubs are all a little different but still all the same. I'd like a little change of pace from deciding who your going to bang next. Its always nice to have that there if you get the urge!

I wish I could be there this weekend to meet you guys. But I would like to thank you for all of the good advise that you all have given over the years. Even back to the red snake days. Without your advice, I would still be spending way too much money in the Phoenix clubs. Hopefully someday I can meet up with some of you in Nogi. FYI, I have eaten at some of the restaurants in Nogales. El Grecko is good but very expensive. El Cid is good but is also expensive. Cafe Ajijic, Los Equipales, and La Gran Fonda are good and also inexpensive. Have fun

I'm rereading BillfromReading - What a Long Strange Trip It's Been. Probably be reading it until the hockey game starts. ( I left Placers 3 times last night, crossed the border twice, keep turning around and going back) And by the way, when the sign says 75 they mean 75, not 77 or 78 or 85! The first question the officer asked me was how much do you pay for issurance? Last question I asked was how what speed do you give warnings at? Warnings stop at 80, but they still get pulled over. Even so, it was by far the best trip to Nogales ever. Meeting those that showed up capped off a great weekend. And I agree Happyboy, I enjoyed having baby and Jesse there.

Well, the 1st Annual No-HO meeting (NOgales Hombre Order, pun intended) was a success! In attendance were MrBill, Bluelight, Lordbrs, Kandrew, Ugg1967, Happyboy, Jesse and Baby. (Did I miss anyone?) Bluelight really does wear a Santa hat - I thought he was shitting me...

Cherry's proved to be a good, if packed, venue to kick things off. Not a lot of mongering there, but it provided for lots of quality adult conversating. And Baby was there so we could all gawk shamelessly.

I had to miss dinner due to a hot hotel date - where did you guys end up going? I had to get by with a plate full of fajitas purchased on the street - beats the fuck out of Taco Bell any day, though.

I guess we split up to Rio/Titanic/Placer's. I was able to hook up briefly with Lordbrs and Bluelight at Placer's. Freakin' eye candy store - sheesh! Gotta love it.

I ended up spending some quality time at Rio. You guys missed a good show or two over there... (Check the Rio thread.)

I would like to thank Justdan and Roberto for not showing up, only because I got first crack at the Famous Samantha. Holy shit, batman!! (See Famous Samantha Thread) Just kidding, you guys, except for the Samantha part... ;-)

It was nice meeting you guys and fun hanging out with you. Sorry I missed about half of it...

Kandrew and Happyboy - sorry I didn't get to chat with you guys some more. But when pussy calls, you gotta answer it... Hopefully we'll hook up another time. Same for the rest of you guys.

Thanks everyone, nice to see you all. Because of the noise and different activities for all of us there wasn't a whole lot of talk but at least more people to hang out with in Nogi on future trips.

HB and I went off to Titanic and Rio after Placers while Bluelight and Lordblackrose held up the fort in Placers and then, I think, went home. I hooked up with one girl in Rio whose name I have already forgotten.

Dinner caused a minor reaction but nothing close to Montezumas Revenge!

I think Bluelight may have fallen in love but no thats the only negative I can remember from the whole night

Why don't you just save it for the next No-Ho event?

I suggested someone make up one of those tiny half shirts for a girl or two, give them to them without anyone knowing, and tell them to wear them on a weekend. It would be funny to read a post from a monger who saw girls wearing "CLUB HOMBRE" shirts. At least I thought it would be mildly funny.

Great idea Kandew, Venus would wear it. She's big enough for it to fit also.

Sorry I missed out gents. Thanks to an impromptu party my roommate had recently, I had some checks stolen by an acquaintance of my roommate's friend. And since the little shit got away with cashing two of them, my mongering cash is a bit low at the moment. (Discovered all this Thursday.) Luckily, he had more of my checks, and made the mistake of trying to cash one two hours after the bank placed a fraud alert on my account. He got a ride downtown to see Sheriff Joe. I've got a new bank account. And the bank is going to refund the stolen cash once all the paperwork's done. So I'll be seeing you gents soon.

well, it's been 10 days since the first monger convention in Nogales. The afterglow of the weekend has worn off, the desire to go back has worn off, I'm back into the daily work schedule that we all leave behind when we visit nogiland. Everything is a pleasant memory that I fear will become the measuring stick for all futures trips; personally. In other words, I'm afraid this was my mountain top. There has been 1 unresolve issue, baby. I think we scared her for good - has anyone heard from her? I've been expecting something from her since Monday but nothing. What did you guys do at Titanic to her???
