But stay away from the topless bars in Juárez. There are too many places like "Don't Touch" on Ave. 16 de Septiembre near my apartment where the girls asks for a tequilla and you discover it cost $11. Some of them will tell you they will spend the night for $100, but I don't trust them.

Making friends with a cab driver is a good way to go, but you never know what he is going to bring you...

Going to the Electric Q Disco might be a great move if you speak good Spanish...

Riding the bus is a nice way to see a lot of pretty girls.

It's hard to say. I have met a couple of girls at hotels.

When you get out of the whore bars and into Mexican society, all I can tell you is don't push it. The girls you are talking to know you have a little money to spend on them, and some of them will warm up to that possibility if they like you.

But they are mostly hard-working Catholic girls in Juarez. It's quite a leap for most of them to get into a paid arrangement of any kind, so the best you can do is entice.

I feel like this post was essentially worthless, but I also believe it essentially true regarding the discussion topic.

But, trust me, it can be done...

I have found a "girlfriend" in Juarez that I have become very fond of. I am not much of a monger anymore. I suppose I will return to full-bore mongering when this relationship ends, as I'm sure it one day will.

I put girlfriend in quotation marks because after each visit, I give her money. The first time we met, I sucessfully enticed her the money. I've been seeing her approximately once a month for a year now, and after that first time she never, (with the exception of one time when I forgot!) asked for $.

Mexican women view this arrangment much differently that an American woman would. I would venture to say that it might be viewed as acceptable. Nonetheless, in the back of my mind I wonder if she just does it for the money, and if all her moans and groans are just good marketing.

I agree with the statement about strip clubs not being a great resource. I got lucky once in a strip club some time ago but that dried up.

I think another great resource is shopping centers and other places where young women work and interact with the public. But the use of $ to entice would be very delicate - subtlety would be required. So would a good command of the language.

Cool, I agree that big malls and supermarkets are very good places to engage in a little flirtation, and you are correct in saying you need to know at least enough Spanish to get the conversation going. After that, if she likes you, she will help you learn to understand her. I would add riding the bus to this list. Regarding the money, actually, I think it is implied in the situation and need not be mentioned unless she brings it up. I met one lady in a hotel bar who came to my room for the night and gave her about thirty dollars the next morning just because I knew she needed it. I have said, "Nesicito amante hoven y bonita como usted," with a little smile, meaning I need an amante (mistress) who is young and beautiful like you.

My whole experience with having a girlfriend in Juárez is that with a little patience before long you have what you want. Then you have to ask yourself do you really want her. Maybe the right one has not come along yet, but my answer has always been no. Too much fun making the rounds to see my favoritas to be stuck with only one. Now and then I take one to my apartment toda la noche.

As for whether or not your girlfriend is doing it just for the money, I guess you will never know. Could be the answer is a mixture of liking you and liking the money. I had a young college girl for a mistress in Dallas, and her answer was "both!".

Thinking of taking a spontainous trip to Cd. Juarez today (only a 4 hr drive for me)since I happen to be off work tomorrow & have nothing better to do right now. However, is there much happening on a Sunday aftrenoon / evening?

Sorry, didn't get it in time...but I personally love the whore bars on Sunday afternoons after about 3 p.m. You have to kind of make the tour to find the girl you want, but, when you do, there is no rush, no nadda. I've gotten it twice several times than I can count on Sunday afternoons with no extra money changing hands.
