The best I've found in NL is the Villa Real on Calle Lara. Excellent service in this establishment. Rates from $43.00 per night. Exceptionally clean rooms ala Motel 6 although with a Mexican flavor. On site restaraunt, The Dorado has a kick ass Bistek al Gusto Ranchero for 5 bucks. Cable TV, A/C and heat, HOT water, secure parking and a check out time of 2pm. I won't stay anywhere else when it's time to get away from the kids for a weekend. Also, convenient to Boystown. About a $6-10 cab ride. Supe nice people and the best deal I've found in Mexico in many a year. I'll post phone number and complete address as soon as I find the card.

Hotel Cesar Palace is not bad. It is off the main highway to Monterrey. It has a new Am chain hotel next too it, sorry forgot which one. Price is cheap and they are easy about bringing back friends. Nevertheless check the room before accepting, sometimes the room have small problems, ie broken TV, no hot water... .
By the way they have parking, that is secure.

Hotel Pedregal also is good. It is $35 a night, parking and very close to Boys Town. No problem with girls. It is on Lopez Lara on the east side about a 1/4 mile before you get to BT on the left.

Took Susana there first time i took her away from BT. I didn't care much for it but it is good for it's purpose.
