I will place information about Nogales Hotels here.

By Orgngrndr on Monday, November 13, 2000 - 09:14 am:  Edit

I noticed that there were two hotel just north of Placers, et al. Both were less than 100 yards from the clubs.

The first was a small room-type motel that advertised rooms for 120 pesos. It looked fairly clean from the outside, but I didn't go inside, might be good for a quickie.

Next door was a almost new Hotel that looks like it belong in the U.S., It looked new and has the mission-style architecture used by the La Quinta chain of motels. Looks like a pleasant place to stay across the border for those mongers who need to make a prolonged excursion.

Probably the best hotel in Nogales is Plaza Nogales. It's not close to the bars, but is nice. Prices vary for the time of the year, but I payed $50 the last time. Cable, air-conditioned, pool, etc. Just get on Obregon and follow the road heading towards the fairgrounds. It will be on the right side of the road.

There is a hotel that is right next to the fairgrounds that is also nice. If you drive, this one is the safest to park in. You have to get the guy in the office to lift the gate so you can get in and out. Plus you park right outside your room. It's the hotel at the first stop light past the fairgrounds. $30-40, plus you have to leave a $20 deposit when you go out for the night. Plaza Nogales is right up the street.

Hotel Granada is fairly close to the bars. Not as nice as the first two, but has air conditioning, but no cable. $25 a night, but may be more since they remodeled. It's on the main road heading back to the border (Av Ruiz Cortines?). I've walked to Obsessions from this hotel, but it seemed like a long walk.

Hotel Fray Marcos De Niza is also close to the bars. It's on one of the first side streets past the border between Obregon and I think Lopez Mateos. I forget the price at this one.

I've never had any problems with bringing girls into any of these places.

By Xenono on Wednesday, November 22, 2000 - 10:41 pm:  Edit

The last couple of times I tried to bring a girl to Hotel Fray Marcos, I was denied entry. I would cross it off the list.

There is a new hotel right up the street from Lord Black and Placer's called Hotel Colonial. About 40-50 a night. The colors inside are loud though. Bright Orange as I recall.

The Plaza is nice - for Nogales standards. I have stayed there several times. But it is a long cab ride.

By Jharn on Monday, December 25, 2000 - 02:30 am:  Edit

The Plaza is nice, and I agree with Xen that it a long cab ride, I will not go that far out of the way.

I will try the Hotel Colonial or the Hotel Granada on my next trip.

By Inspector on Wednesday, January 17, 2001 - 08:44 am:  Edit

No go at Hotel Colonial.Nice hotel great location but when I tried to get a room the people at the front desk said this is a family hotel and bringing women back is not allowed, and I never asked. They just assumed why else would a single gringo want a hotel room. Ended up at Hotel Olivia with no problem bringing a girl back but an extremely small bed and would like to find a nicer place.

By Frenchie on Monday, January 22, 2001 - 06:02 am:  Edit

So, which places are the best for a little short time action? Are there many choices close to the bars? How much do they charge?

I'm looking for an alternative to the 6 minute rooms in the clubs.

By Horndog on Monday, January 22, 2001 - 10:06 pm:  Edit

Anyone know about any upscale hotels with jacuzzis or hottubs?? I am planning something for a weekend...

By Xenono on Monday, January 22, 2001 - 10:39 pm:  Edit

Horndog,

The Plaza Nogales is pretty nice. They have rooms, suites, and king size suites. I am not sure about Jacuzzis, but one of the suites I rented last year had a pretty big bathtub with jets in it.

The only problem with the Plaza Nogales is the $8-$10 dollar and 10-15 minute cab ride to get there. Prices at the Plaza range from $40 to $100 depending on the room you get.

I got a room at the Hotel Colonia right when it opened. No problems then. I guess things have changed now. That was after we were shut out of the Hotel Fray Marcos.

My suggestion, find and get your hotel first thing when you arrive. If you wait, you won't get a room as most of the cheap hotels fill up with Mexicans getting ready to make border runs. A local once told me about this after we spent about 2 hours looking for a vacancy someplace...anyplace...

Plaza Nogales should not have this problem.

I have a good recomendation. Hotel Miami. Cost is $35.00 for two beds. It is one block behind Coco Loco, easily within walking distance of the strip club zone. It is easier then having to go back to an american hotel and risk customs and a d.u.i. and good for an allnighter. Enjoy.

By Bluelight on Monday, May 28, 2001 - 01:16 pm:  Edit

Saturday night I decided to stop into Placers and see if things have changed any. It was better then the last time, but that's not the point here. One of the girls asked me if she could stop by my hotel after work. She seemed to understand that I wasn't staying in Nogales that night - so she told me next time to. She would come over after close for the night. So is there any new information about hotels? I'm not going to do a 15minutes cab ride - so Plaza Nogales is out of the question.

By Diabetic on Monday, May 28, 2001 - 08:59 pm:  Edit

I have never stayed at Olivia, but others have said two things about it: the beads are small and chicas are OK there.

Can anyone confirm/deny?

By Inspector on Monday, May 28, 2001 - 10:50 pm:  Edit

You can bring girls there no problem, but the rooms I stayed in there the beds were very small. I myself was looking for an alternative hotel to Olivia within walking distance to the clubs that chicas are welcome.

By Lordbrs on Sunday, June 03, 2001 - 02:54 pm:  Edit

Where exactly are Olivia and Miami? I'm not real familiar with Nogi outside the club zone but might spend a weekend down there. Just looking for something decent near the zone.

By Inspector on Sunday, June 03, 2001 - 07:39 pm:  Edit

Hotel Olivia is at Ave. Obregon #125 about 2-3 blocks from The Rio

By Bubba17 on Tuesday, July 03, 2001 - 03:57 pm:  Edit

Stayed at a place called Motel San Luis a while back. I don't have the exact address, but it's about 3-4 blocks South of the border (3-4 blocks straight South along the road that crosses the border, and one block West). It's right across the street from a police station, but that doesn't seem to be a problem, either (love this country... - that may even be a bonus...) They apparently don't have a problem bringing girls with you. I think it was $20 for the room and $20 deposit, but I think the girl ran off with my deposit (she went home and I stayed the night...). Clean, big rooms with two "double"-sized beds and cable TV. Even called a cab for me when I checked-out. ;-)

By Jon on Friday, July 13, 2001 - 08:19 pm:  Edit

Has anyone stayed at the Days Inn on the US side on Grand Ave., about 1/2 mile from the border? I'm not looking for a place to bring girls, just a place to crash after some fun at the clubs. Thanks.

By Tglucca on Monday, July 30, 2001 - 12:54 pm:  Edit

Went down this last weekend and stayed at two great hotels. The first was Marquis D'Cima which is about two miles south of the border. You need a taxi, 70 pesos. The rooms are great with king size beds and no problem with the girls. A room for two people, 370 pesos. The other hotel was Hotel Colonial which is just down the street from Lord Blacks. It is brand new and faces the train tracks. It costs 450 pesos and you need to tell them the room is for two people, you and your wife. They were ok with me bringing a girl but use common sense. Both hotels had air conditioning, great showers, hot water and king sized beds. A better value than the American hotels across the border.

Jon

Ive stayed at the Americana Inn, which is right next to the Days in. I have paid between $35 and $40 a night. Brought a girl up to my room through the front lobby, no problem. Nice hotel, nice pool, nice restraunt inside.

Hotel Andres.

I'm surprised not to find a report on this place - maybe it's new. Anyhoo...

Just around the corner from Lipsticks (the corner closest to the border). $25. Nice place, actually. Just one, little problem. !!HACE CALOR!! I can't believe I'm saying this, but for a brothel hotel, this place is actually sort of charming. 12-foot (!) ceilings, lovingly painted colorful rooms, immaculately clean (!) and a pretty decent ceiling fan. And get this - little twin beds seperated by a night stand a la "I Love Lucy" and the 50's TV shows where you couldn't ponder the idea that mom and dad slept in the same bed. Twin beds in a brothel joint?? That's okay, they can be squished together to from a decent double bed.

And here's a tip on the ceiling fans - if you want the light off, turn the light off with the pull-chord on the fan itslef - DONT use the light switch - that turns off the lights AND the fan. BIG mistake. I'd say, if it's not 70 degrees or cooler outside, get a place with real aire.

Another nice thing about this hotel is that they have a few snack items available at the lobby 24/7 - chips, candy, sodas, etc - and GATORADE!!! Woo-hoo!!

And you better not be too shy - the rooms have windows open above the doors (one on each side) that can't be closed.

Better get there early as there's only like a dozen rooms or so - will sell out early on weekends.

Oh, and make sure to ask for towels - they're free but not included by default (???)

Overall, very highly recommended if it's not too hot outside.

Ok gents, I've stayed in Hotel Granada twice now. The hotel itself is nice enough, but the pillows are like bricks. Admittedly I don't go to Nogi for my beauty sleep, but after I'm all worn out, I do like to catch a few hours of shut eye, and I just can't get any decent sleep in that place.

Any current advice on chica-friendly hotels? Especially any closer to the clubs?

Anyone know anything about this Hotel Hacienda del Real? It has a 5 star rating.

By MrBill on Sunday, February 10, 2002 - 04:35 pm:  Edit

No, but if the Granada and San Luis got 3 stars... LOL!! The presence of a bed and a TV set must get you three stars from these folks!! Maybe cable TV gets you 4 stars and a little fridge gets you five...

Still chuckling,

MrBill

I've been thinking about this, a city of 300,000 people only has 12 hotels? No way. Where are the rest of the hotels?

By nogi_boy on Tuesday, February 12, 2002 - 05:56 pm:  Edit

I can think of 12 just within the first few blocks (North to South). There must be as many (hotels & motels) as there are pharmacies (and there's a ton of those).http://148.202.15.53:82/pls/hotelmex_dvlp/Cons.Xciudad?versp=1&estadop=34&ciudadp=520&ordenp=2 Shows a bit more than 12, but I know there's plety more. Maybe they don't have telephone service.

By Diabetic on Thursday, February 14, 2002 - 08:22 pm:  Edit

There are a lot of hotels that are just not terribly close to the border. Many are up on tehhills to the west of the city, close to some of the industrial areas.

Motel 32 comes to mind.

Going to be at Fray Marcos de Niza Hotel friday and saturday nights. They told me things would be kewl bringing a date back. Will report Sunday.

So, if one has wheels and is looking for a place for a GFE, it soulds like Plaza Nogales is the place to be.

How close is it to the bus station?

I was thinking of a nice relaxing time in Juarez or Nogales. I am looking for a clean relaxing hotel to experience some good ole Mexico living. I want a nice clean hotel, but still somewhat close to some action. I am thinking of a 3-4 night stay.

Any suggestions in Nogales for a relaxing good time?

By Roberto on Saturday, August 17, 2002 - 08:53 am:  Edit

Hotel Granada is a short walk from all the clubs. For $43 you get a double that has 2 queen beds, cable, a/c, and a spacious shower. Downstairs they have a good restaurant. Also room service. If room service is closed, security will get you anything you want 24/7. They are very monger friendly. The night manager is Alberto. Tell him you know Roberto.

By Azpartyboy on Friday, December 06, 2002 - 06:52 pm:  Edit

are there any hotels on the US side that you can walk to the boarder from? It would be nice to leave my car in hotel parking lot and be able to have drinks in Nogales along with my other fun.

By MrBill on Friday, December 06, 2002 - 08:01 pm:  Edit

Dude, just park at one of the gated lots on the US side and get a hotel on the MX side - best of both worlds. Your car might even be safer in the pay parking lots than a hotel parking lot.

By Roberto on Saturday, December 07, 2002 - 07:38 am:  Edit

Most of the hotels on the American side are a decent walk from the border. The other option is to take a cab from your American hotel to the border. I recommend parking at McDonalds and walking across. It is nice to have a room to bring chicas back to. Also, it is safer not to drive at the end of the night if you have had a few to many soda pops.

By Jbr1176 on Friday, December 13, 2002 - 02:39 pm:  Edit

hey can you park in this mcdonalds parking lot overnite??? also how far is it to a decent hotel once you cross the border into mex??? are they within walking distance??? I visit nogales, az often driving truck but never crossed the border any info will be helpful.

thanks

By Roberto on Friday, December 13, 2002 - 03:51 pm:  Edit

You can park overnight. If they see you walking to your car the next day they will charge you again. Best thing to do is see where the attendant is the next day and retreive your car when he is distracted.

By Roberto on Friday, December 13, 2002 - 03:53 pm:  Edit

You can walk to the hotels from the border. Miami is close and Granada is a bit of a hike. There are many others but they are not necessarily monger friendly.

By Jbr1176 on Friday, December 13, 2002 - 05:19 pm:  Edit

hey roberto,

can i park a trk in that lot??? i have a box trk like 26 ft long. And is it fairly safe or should i scout out another location to park for the nite?? Another thing what locations should i ck out when im there??? it looks like from this site placers and lipsticks are the places to ck out. any info would be cool thanks.

By Roberto on Friday, December 13, 2002 - 05:35 pm:  Edit

The attendant will tell you if it is ok to park there. I would guess it is ok. If not there are a bunch of parking lots. The earlier you get there the better chance you will have to find a big spot to park it.

On your first trip, I recommend you get there in the afternoon so you can enjoy Cherry's. At night you will want to hit Placers, Lord Black, Lipstick, and Rios. Skip Fernis, Titanic, and Obsessions. If you want to go to a brothel, take a cab to La Conga. At about 3:30 a.m. when the bars closed you can always drink at Tecolote.

Unfortunately I can't hook you up with Jesse as he is dead now. He was the greatest pimp. Now you will have to deal with Alex or somebody else. I will be down there soon to find out what happened and who is acceptable to deal with.

Get a room at one of the hotels I mentioned above. The food is good on the streets. If you want a great meal go to La Gran Fonda or Herraduras.

Always haggle and guard your money.

thanks for the info roberto. it will probably be an afternoon trip and i dont know how much time i will have to spend. is cherrys the only place to hit in the afternoon and what are the hours of these bars. definitly gonna ck it out next time i go to az. funny i was just in nogales az this wk but didnt have much time and am always skeptical on venturing into areas of mex im not familiar with. oh well i guess ill have to settle for a trip to tj tomorrow. anyways thanks for your info

By Roberto on Friday, December 13, 2002 - 06:45 pm:  Edit

Cherry's opens around 1:30 p.m. and Rios about 2 p.m.

By Papa_C on Saturday, December 14, 2002 - 01:06 pm:  Edit

For you mongers that like to pay over 100 dls. for 30 min in a box you should avoid Cherrys right now. The best girls there only do all nighters for 100 or less. From 9PM to 12 noon for as many times as you like plus BJs...

By Azpartyboy on Wednesday, December 18, 2002 - 05:51 pm:  Edit

are these hotels south of the border actually worth staying at? I am just nervous staying down there. I'm afraid I will get attacted in the middle of the night. Are the beds like crap or decent. Any info would be appreciated. I want to pay for a nice place and be safe and bring back multiple women.

By Roberto on Wednesday, December 18, 2002 - 08:00 pm:  Edit

Don't be a pussy. I am telling you it is worth it. You don't need to be scared of shit down there. I can only recommend Hotel Granada. The cost will be around $40. They have 24hr room service. They have a restaurant. Finally, they have an off duty police officer at the front door. This place is monger friendly and you can be as loud as you want. By the way, the cop sells drugs too. Alberto, the joto works the front desk and he is a great guy. Tell him you are friends with Roberto.

By Phoenixguy on Wednesday, December 18, 2002 - 10:12 pm:  Edit

Much better to stay in a Nogi hotel, which you can walk back to, and sleep it off than to do something stupid like driving drunk to get to a hotel over on the American side. Granada's safe, clean, and most of the plumbing fixtures even work (which is saying a lot for Mexico). ;) Since Hotel Granada is a few blocks (uphill) past the clubs, I usually walk down to the clubs, and take a taxi back to the hotel late at night.

By MrBill on Thursday, December 19, 2002 - 11:40 am:  Edit

AZpartyboy - the others are right. Absolutely no reason to fear anything staying in the hotels down there. I was freaked my first time, too. Balderdash! Hotel Miami (just West of Rio's) or Hotel Granada (just south of Placer's) are both good choices - clean, decent beds, safe, monger friendly, etc.

I'd suggest Granada your first time. It's basically like an older Motel 6 or something. It's so clean they even put the little paper thingy over the toilet seat. Shit, there's everything but a mint on your pillow ;) And they have security guards. Not many can recommend US hotels because hardly anyone uses them ;)

My buddy was arrested for smoking pot in the Nogales, AZ Days Inn. That really ruined our night and his future. Why take chances? In Mexico, freedom is only a $20 mordida away.

By Erip on Monday, October 22, 2007 - 01:32 am:  Edit

Is Hotel Granada still the place to stay near the clubs in Nogales? Does the hotel have parking or any safe overnight parking nearby. I can't do anything more than minimal walking right now due to an injury.

Btw Roberto, I know this happened 5 years ago but how did your buddy manage to get busted for pot at a Days Inn? Was he smoking at the pool or something or creating a disturbance that drew police attention?

By Phoenixguy on Monday, October 22, 2007 - 08:55 am:  Edit

Granada is not that close to the clubs - it's about a 5 or 10 min walk.

By Erip on Monday, October 22, 2007 - 12:25 pm:  Edit

Oh, thanks! Then the next question is whether there is a decent hotel that is closer?

By Roberto on Monday, October 22, 2007 - 04:52 pm:  Edit

It is a funny story. He blazed up a joint in the room and called the front desk for a cab. The Mexican lady misunderstood him and sent a cop.

Hotel Olivia is the place to stay with free enclosed parking. Only a block from Sr. Amigos.

By Hot4ass2 on Monday, October 22, 2007 - 11:41 pm:  Edit

ERIP, Hotel California is about 50 feet from the back doors of Bolerios and Lust. I used a $15 short time room there for an El Potros girl and it was adequate. Also saw a recent ISG report from a monger who used it as his base camp. Hotel Elias seemed to be closed on a recent Sunday visit.

Thanks for the info guys though my travel plans are in danger of being burned up in the SoCal firestorms!

Roberto, so this woman misunderstood "taxi" for "policia?". No wonder they fuck up the telephone reservations so often.

They threw the book at him for simple possession of marijuana, or was he moving a batch north for a cartel?
