Zacatecas has a zona about 15 minutes outside of town. Just as a taxi driver to take you there. It is real hard to find, and out in the middle of nowhere. The talent is marginal, but there were a few pretty decent ones. Seemed to be pretty clean and drug free relatively speaking. Also seemed safe. Anyone know of any street action nearby? I never found any.

Are there strip clubs there? Brothels? 3 day weekend coming up...

The only brothels or strip clubs I discovered were in the Zona (boystown compound) which pales in comparison to NL or Reynosa. I suspect there are strip clubs outside of the boystown compound discussed by Abunker above, but the only strip clubs I went to were in the Zona outside of town. There was also a hotel there that took nightly rentals if you don't feel like staying in town. Only saw one decent 8, but she was so busy dancing (stripping) and entertaining locals never got a chance to ask her back to a room. Got discouraged and left after a few hours empty handed, but YMMV.

Thanks for the info. How would you rate the places in the little Boystown? Worth a look? How many chicas were around?

Porker, that is what I was talking about. Only one 8 in all the bars I visited there. about 20-30 women tops (including the TVs). It is about half the size of the Reynosa Boystown, or the equivalent of one NL street. There were a few door girsl too if memory serves me correct, but almost all the women I saw were of the overweight overaged variety. The only walled boystown compound I have been to that was worse was in Colima, MX.

The one redeeming feature was I think it was a Wednesday or Thursday night when I was there, so may get better on the weekends.

There is another one a couple hours South near Loreto, I think, that really had some nice girls on the weekend who bussed in. This one may be the same story.

Here's a little tidbit in Spanish about "ladies bars" and "luncheonettes" in Fresnillo, 30 miles north of Zacatecas-title to the story was: Authorities blind to clandestine prostitution":
Regados en la cabecera municipal existen ladis bar, loncherías disfrazadas y antros que trabajan a plena luz del día y burlan a las autoridades municipales.En estos comercios se encuentra un gran número de sexoservidoras que en su mayoría son originarias de otros estados y que cada fin de semana llegan para trabajar en la zona de tolerancia. Sin embargo la baja demanda de sus servicios las obliga a buscar otros lugares para ejercer el oficio más antiguo del mundo.
Estas alternativas son ofertadas en ladis bar, antros de diversión o loncherías disfrazadas, cuya operatividad está a cargo de lenones que ofrecen al cliente bebidas alcohólicas durante su estancia. Los prostíbulos clandestinos están distribuidos principalmente en los ejes viales que comunican a Fresnillo con la mayor parte de las comunidades, los cuales son visitados reiteradamente por campesinos menores de edad.

Pese a las denuncias existentes, los inspectores de Sanidad Municipal y los Servicios Coordinados de Salud en el Estado no han actuado, lo que favorece la proliferación de la prostitución sin control.

Since the main clientele for these places seems to be under-age campesinos, you probably want to avoid them if you don't have a command of Spanish.

It was only a few miles outside of town. Sorry can't remember the direction, but off of one of the main highways heading in. Get a taxi if you don't speak enough spanish to ask directions.

Zacatecas has an enormous zona (15-20 clubs) with a parking lot big enough to fill two football fields; nothing starts till 10pm; some places attempt a classy Vegas look, with semi-posh interiors for the strip show they feature--they do hit you up with one-drink minimum (30 pesos) or entrance fee--I had the impression the best value was to be had at the places on your right as you approach the entrance to the "football field" parking area. Almost entirely Mexican clientele; girls in the 0-8 range: for 30 minutes, FS, prices vary from 450 pesos (level="B/B+") to 900 (level= A/A-"), room included; lap dances (privados without extras--couldn't say if extras are available) run you 100; located off Highway 54 on the road to Guadalajara, about a 50 peso/15 minute taxi ride from the center--there's an entrance fee to the zona of 5 to 10 pesos per person. The city, by the way, is a colonial gem, and on the U.N.'s list of "patrimonio de la humanidad." Try dinner at the "Los Dorados de Villa"--local specialties and Pancho Villa memorabilia.

An April 2003 road trip to Zacatecas gave me the opportunity to sample more than outstanding colonial architecture and fantastic food. The action takes place in a compound about 15 minutes drive from El Centro on the road to Sautillo. Basically, a large plaza surrounded by competing clubs, with the usual police/guard station at the gate. The road in here is VERY rough, so beware if you are taking your own car. The pot holes threaten to swallow small 4-wheeled vehicles whole. My cab driver explained that leaving the road in such poor condition was a great way to control the speed limit. Also, do not come early, 'cause this place is DEAD before 11 pm. All the usual fun can be had, with less selection than in larger centers like Nuevo Laredo.

For a different experience, on the weekend you might try "La Mina". Zacatecas was once home to one of the largest ( and one of the oldest) silver mines in the world. The modern residents have enterprisingly turned one of the mine shafts and underground chambers into an amazing discoteque (weekends only). A fabulous spot to visit and a great place to meet up with very enthusiastic local girls.

Most towns of any size in Mexico will have a "Zona de Tolerancia" like this. They are NOT glamorous places and making a special trip to these towns simply for the purpose of getting laid is a hard-core perverts' mission. Palmiro would be the guy to try and get info from on this site, if he's still reading here. He has been to many of the towns listed in the Mexico section and has had some luck with the 'casas de cita' in many of them.

Bottom line, though, if you want to get laid anywhere in Mexico, tell a taxi driver 'take me to the women', and hold on for the ride.

No way, im not putting myself at the mercy of a taxi driver! Firstly, he'll probably take me to a gringo spot. I dont want that. I want the real deal, where I will be the only gringo, and where quick wits and spanish will come in handy. You are right, Fresnillo is probably much like the other towns. But I dont know any others with confirmed ZT, and an infamous one. If you all know a small town-ZT closer to DF or Guadalajara or Hermosillo let me know...
