The Pasarelas strip club (Pasarelas means catwalk) is almost across the Azul Tequila Club on Madero Ave. It used to be a bar, then a dance hall for working class, now it's a big strip club, with 4 small stages with a pole each, all spread across the club. When I visited this place it was like an ensamble of former lap dancers from all over town. There were girls from the TVO, Infinito, Imperio and Casino. Prices seem to be the same as in all the middle ground clubs: 100 pesos for 2 songs in a private booth and FS is available for 600 pesos plus tips for the girl.
I do not know what a "tip" means if you have to pay extra to get the FS.
Girls here are below average, you can find much better girls in any other club, but there are a few 8's and 9's.

Regio,

when you say two songs for 100 pesos, is that two full songs, or two "four-minute" songs. No quiero gato por liebre...

Gregorio, haven't been to this place yet, walked by it the other day in the daytime, but the 2xWhatever 'deal' usually turns out to be a minor scam if it's part of a promocion. If it's 'songs' you're at the whim of the DJ, who at places like Imperio cut the 'songs' to a pretty strict 2 1/2 minutes during the promocion, which means you're almost always paying MORE for the 'extra' song. If it's 'time' you're at the whim of the timekeeper. As the DJ is usually way off in his own world or taking orders from the girl onstage, the timekeeper is usually more reliable. There are few true 'discounts' to be found in Monterrey. For a cheapskate like me I get tired of haggling over the fine print.

I went here last night for the first time with Regio and Unspongebob. Predictably, I wasn't impressed -- I severely dislike bars of this type. The girls did seem to try hard to act like they're having fun, and they are for the most part decent looking. Thanks to a pushy waitress/mamasan, they push privados harder than most ficha bars, but the girls have the same 'buy me a drink' disease that is plaguing most Monterrey clubs these days.

Re: the 'special promotion' 2x1 that was referenced in previous posts, Regio grabbed a girl towards the end of this promotion and was back at the table after refusing to buy the girl a post-privado drink in ~ 5 minutes. USB took longer, but I didn't ask how many 2x1 privados he bought. USB's girl certainly was easier on the eyes than Regio's, a reverse of the previous afternoon at Obsession.

We got seated in well away from the stage next to some speaker that made the sofa physically bounce up and down. Quite wacky, and had many more bad points than good.

Every girl in this bar smokes and apparently likes to drink. I guess they could call it 'Cabronas R Us'.

By Gregorio on Saturday, November 27, 2004 - 12:46 pm:  Edit

"Carbonas R Us" great line...
Been to a few of those joints myself, never came up with an appropriate name though...

An alternate name could be "Aprovechadas R Us"

By Gregorio on Saturday, November 27, 2004 - 12:54 pm:  Edit

I meant to write "Cabronas R Us" lo lamento.

From what I'm reading, sounds like the Monterrey tabolera scene is picking up on all the more unsavory aspects of US tittie bars.

Anhelo por el Monterrey que se nos fue...Mas sabor, mas cultura, mejores mujers, y lo mas importante, precios mas bajos!!!

By Regio on Sunday, November 28, 2004 - 12:17 am:  Edit

No no no no... I disagree with those points of view.
No Gregorio. The scene is still the same, as Porker is still the same. He totally refuses to act nice or relate to a girl that is trying to make a living getting drinks from clients, which is the purpose of the strip clubs to begin with.
You just have to know how to get around that.
I do...
Aren't you capable of getting rid of girls in nice ways?????
And no one's talking about prices. Prices at the Pasarelas are still the same as are the respective ones at the Matehuala, the Harem, the Divain whorehouse and the CasaBlanca WH.
Remember that Iam a regular of the clubs and I like to be seen as a regular, a good regular that gets along with the nonwriten laws of said club.
If I go there and do not spend money, the waiters and the girls will not pay attention to me. Any time I step on that club I will be singled out as a bad client.
And talking about not spending money, Iam border line at the Obsession and the Prestige. I have seen the managers give me the bad eye when we only go to those clubs to have lunch and split without paying drinks for the girls.
As I said before: Nope, I do not agree with both your points of view.

Regio, my friend, sorry if I've been cramping your style and turning you into a cheapskate like me. But I still think that places like this are the absolute worst mongering destinations as they push drinks, drinks, drinks which is fine and dandy if you're looking for chicas to have expensive conversations with. But at the end of the night unless you want to pay in the hundreds of dollars to take them to a hotel (if they even go), the BEST you can hope for is some privado booth sex for some relief -- services that HONEST whorehouses like Matehuala and Infinito provide without all the bullshit and at a much cheaper cost.

Comparing Obsession to places like Pasarelas and Harem is not fair. Obsession actively sells sex on site, and while it's too expensive for just about anyone that's not RICH or a FOOL, it is what it is: A classy, expensive place. There are ways to play the game a bit cheaper, which you know much better than I do, but it's still relatively expensive.

You are right that I am a shitty client, but as far as being 'nice' to the girls, I'm sorry, but after Asia, it is simply AGAINST MY RELIGION to buy girls a drink if I think that's all they are after -- something that's pretty obvious when the first thing out of their greeedy mouths is 'buy me a drink'. I realize they can pay dividends if you're persistent and patient and have deep pockets, but I can't play that game right now. If YOU want to, good for you, I hope you get what you want from your experience there.

I just reported what I saw: A lot of people spending a relatively LOT of money on drinks and NOT getting laid. Not MY recipe for happiness in a congala.

What I'm gleaning from this conversation is that any guy who throws 100 peso bills around like confetti, he's treated like Fernando Colunga. But a budget-concious monger with only 100 pesos in his pocket (i.e. Gregorio) gets treated like "Milusos."

By Regio on Sunday, November 28, 2004 - 10:09 am:  Edit

Porker is wrong when he says I throw my money away. My average spending night for drinks (I drink no alcohol, plain club soda or diet coke... NOW you should understand why the clubs hate me) is 120 pesos (four 30 peso drinks at 4 clubs)
Porker worries too much on what other people do and spend. It's their own business in a place where they expect you to throw away money and I make it my own not messing with them cause if they are happy, well, let them be.
And yes Gregorio, if you don't spend money in a place where you are expected to spend money, you are not well seen.
Don't tell me you just discovered that?
I think that you haven't checked well your surroundings when you go club hopping.
That was discused at the general Mexico board, when someone wrote that they were angry at a DJ that kept insulting the clients. I wrote that the clubs do not care for regulars. They care for money spenders and even then, they don't care about them cause there is always a sucker that will take his place if he stops going to the club.
Am a regular, a client that has been going to clubs for years. I am friends with owners and managers... but one thing is for sure: they sure are not gonna miss me when I stop going.

By Porker on Sunday, November 28, 2004 - 11:39 am:  Edit

Guys foolishly spending money on ficha drinks is indeed their business, not mine, but it's also the reason why Mexico is full of 'working girls' that far prefer to sit around and TALK instead of FUCK. Clients let them get away with it. Sorry if I don't appreciate the fucked up game they've created and choose not to play it.

Ok........time for me to weigh in...

If you don't want to buy a girl a drink, it is easy to send them on their way without totally pissing them off.

Porker showed me a great club, El Cielo, which I highly recommend for potential, low cost, take-out opportunities. It's a good low end bar, with relatively high end chicas mixed in with the regulars and the scags.

The other night, I took a really nice girl out of there, but I didn't have to buy her a drink because I already knew her. She was formerly of Harem, and we already had a very familiar relationship, which started with me buying her drinks over at Harem almost a year ago. I had never had the opportunity to take her off premises before because she abrubtly disappeared from the bar scene almost a year ago. I often wondered what happened to her because she was a very nice girl.

Anyway, when I returned to El Cielo, this girl came up to me, and when she recognized me, it was like she was seeing her long lost lover. She threw her arms around me, and had such a truely sincere, and unmistakenly genuine expression of friendship on her face that you could not interpret her reaction as anything but genuinely loving. Really, what a wonderful feeling it is to catch a snapshot of a girls face at her first reaction to seeing you when you know her reaction is sincere and genuinely affectionate, and when you know her reaction is going beyond the more entrepreneurial considerations that are on these girl's minds. She was really actaully thrilled and glad to see me after all this time...What a great feeling. So, I decided this was the makings of another long overdue GFE.

I paid a double salida, $70, to take her for three hours, and her fee to go with me was only $70. She was incredible, but we already knew each other and she always liked me a lot. So, it was a total GFE. I will undoubtedly see her again, and next time, it will be without the cost of a salida, and probably for less than the amount I paid this time, the $70.

Anyway, the point is, when I saw this girl over at Harem the previous year, I always bought her drinks, which were relatively inexpensive, and I believe that the investment of those drinks at Harem, over a year ago, set the stage for a very nice GFE, Anyhow, I enjoyed buying her the drinks then, and had fun with her anyway when she was at Harem. I didn't know it at the time, but that investment paid off big a year later in the form of a GFE...and the resulting experience with her was probably even better than if I had taken her a year ago. There is just something to be said for old times sake, and for sentimentality.

My purpose for telling that part of the story is...the next night, I went back to El Cielo to find another possible bed warmer. The girl I had been with the previous night had already left for the evening, so the field was wide open. I ended up not taking anyone from El Cielo that night. I chose a girl from Givenchi instead later in the evening, a girl that I also had taken before from Givenchi.

Anyway, when I was trolling in El Cielo that second night, the sister of the girl that was with me the previous night, the sister of my girl from Harem, came over, introduced herself, and started with the Una Copa routine.

I guess the sister assumed that she was going to try capitalize on my relationship with my Harem girl, her sister...but, fat chance...literally. She was much too fat for my taste (as most of you know, I like flaca morenas).

I merely told her "NO, sorry, but that I had no money, and that I had very little time, and that I would not be buying her a drink." End of discussion.

There was no argument from her whatsoever, and off she went, never to be heard from again. It was easy letting her down, and I don't expect to be bothered by her again.

Subsequent to turning her down on the drink, I selected a girl from the runway for a privado and upstairs we went. I had one privado from her, determined that she was not available for take out, and decided not to spend any more on her as well. Then, shortly after my privado, I decided to move on and scan the opportunities over at Givenchi.

The point is...if you don't want to cultivate a "relationship" with them, just send them on their way nicely, without any fanfair, and they usually get the hint. I just don't see the point in pissing them off. But, I wholeheartedly see the point in buying the right ones drinks. Because it can pay off nicely, both at the present time you are buying them drinks, and/or potentially in the future.

But, I am increasingly reluctant to spend too much money on drinks. That is, the girl has to already have all the "right" attributes for me to make the investment in drinks. Otherwise, I just send them packing, but nicely. I am becoming much more disciplined and skillful at determining which ones are worthy of my money. I make occassional mistakes, but generally I am getting better at it each time I visit Monterrey.

As for Pasarelas...Porker, we picked a really poor night to visit that club. I have been there when it is 1000 per cent better...really!!!!!!!! So much for poor timing on our part. It is a little high priced, and much more expensive for take-out, but the quality can be pretty good. However, the selection on the night we visited was literally the worst I had ever seen it.

Another piece of trivial commentary on my part is...one thing I hate about that club especially, Pasarelas that is, and many other clubs in Monterrey, Extasis included, is the ridiculously loud volume of music. You can't hear yourself think in some places. I remember commenting to Porker when we were in Pasarelas that I could KILL that damned DJ...the music is sooooooo fricken LOUD!!!!!!!!!!!!

In my opionion, the place with the best music volume at present is Azul. At least you can talk to the girl without the music breaking your ear drums.

Who said anything about pissing the girls off? All I say is a simple 'no'. If the girl gets pissed off because of that, isn't that her problem?

By Unspongebob on Monday, November 29, 2004 - 07:11 am:  Edit

I agree, it is her problem. And, you are right, some of them do get pissed off. But, I agree with you on that one...who cares if they get pissed off, unless they are of the category that you like.
