This could be the reason for the slow business at the nogi strip clubs...
http://www.azstarnet.com/dailystar/printSN/8655.php
I wonder if this has anything to do with the elections in November? Fox wants the borders cleaned up to build better relations with Bush??
I get tired of those damn flieros anyway.. I know it hurts business for the strip bars, but , hey , most of the mongers know where to go...

This bothers me like not at all, but it will probably cause another round of price increases. Ah well. Fuck Nogales anyway. They are the most expensive border town for pussy cost that is out of line with other developing countries and other Mexican border towns.
I am kind of torn now though. I fucking hate being approached and followed in Nogales to a place I was already going. They essentially get paid for doing nothing more than following me and that pisses me off.
But by the same token, these guys are dirt poor and it doesn't increase my price. Sometimes I head to Lord Black and use my free entry card when the Fliero is particularly annoying.

I don't agree with the article or the importance placed on Flieros. If what Cherries' manager said was true, why are things so slow at Rio's or even Obsessions? I've seen this first hand. Two clubs easily accessible from the port of entry lines. Personally, flieros never really bothered me so much. The lack of customers that these clubs are now experiencing has to do with something else. I know I've curbed my trips to Nogi lately.

Gee. I wonder if people have finally realized that going to Nogales strip clubs is now more expensive than just staying here in the US?
When beer was $2, tables were $5, and privates were $15 I was all over Nogales. Shit, I was down there every week. Now we have $3 beers, $7 and $10 tables, and $22 privates with a bullshit 3 privates required to close the fucking drape. It doesn't take a genius to figure out why no one is going to their clubs. And knowing their fucked up way of dealing with slowness, they will just raise prices again to compensate for the lost business. That is Mexinomics for ya.
Fuck it! I don't care if Nogales dies now. For what it costs to get laid there a couple of times I can get laid double or triple that in most other countries.

I hope they all go under. New ones always pop up.

The Clubs in Nogie were living off the "clueless newbies". Those gringos, students or otherwise who are ever so amenable to the $60 privados, $3 beers, and paying $150 + for full service. The prices stayed high despite a unspoken boycott by the knowlegable mongers, and the locals because the club owners could get a steady stream of the CN's due to those annoying little fuckers lassoing every male as they crossed the border AND making the clubs high profile to everyone crossing the border.
I went to Nogie about a week ago on a weeknite and most of the clubs were REAL slow. I asked one of the maseros I know at Lord Black if they are still charging the $60 for the privados. He said the management still requires the ticket sellers to offer that price to all gringos but quickly come down if they argue.
I've been doing that for months now and have yet to pay more than $20 for a long privado (10+ minutes) at almost any club on almost any night. The exception being Obsessions. I just stick to Cherries, Rio's and now Lipstick since the girls there have been getting better, with an occasional foray to Placer, Bol, or LB.
You would think that with the decreased biz, you would see a price decline, but we've beat that dead horse on this board for years now.
All it does is put you in a better bargaining position. Just say NO to the first offer and make a counter offer equivelent to the old prices and 9 time outa ten you'll get it. That goes for a lot of girls and a lot a ticket sellers, but not all.
What I have noticed is an increase in sightings of real street girls, and yes I'm aware of the trannies, but they seem to stick to one street/area. I was approached by a pretty cute SW who offered all at an amazing lo price, but alas I had shot my wad twice that night already moneywise and otherwise.

OG--
I went down to Nogi late last summer, and stupidly blew my budget by an extra $100. Had budgeted $200 for a night's activities, and the extra in reserve for anything else that came up. Visited La Conga first, got the $65 special, and then headed over to check out the rest of the clubs, including Ferni's, LB and Placers. Got two tables at LBs before settling on this chica named Claudia for a privado--negotiated $40 for BJ, and paid $40 for 2 tickets. Inside, she ends up fucking me and insisting that I pay her an extra $40 for it. I ended up paying her, but didn't have time to finish.
With one nut down and an aborted attempt, I was hot to trot, so I headed over to LBs, and eventually settled for a privado with Isabel, a cute gordita, and thought that I had paid the mesero for a 2 for 1. Suffice it to say that I got upstairs, and the boletero wanted an extra $20 for the privado, and I was already over budget. That cut into the money I had left to pay the negotiated amount for another BJ. Isabel was a sport, and got my rocks off for less than we negotiated anyway.
I will admit that I was pretty pissed at getting hustled, especially given that I had been reading up on the boards here, and thought I knew what to expect.
I have been back twice on non-hobbying visits, and the flieros have avoided me b/c of the company I was keeping, but am thinking about heading back down in the near future.
Any suggested negotiating strategies for a quick visit would be greatly appreciated, esp. given this latest development.

I would imagine that enforcement of this, like many other "enforcements" or "crackdowns" in Mexico, won't last very long. It would not surprise me in the least if things didn't get back to normal in about two weeks. Then the greedy bar owners can stop complaining about it.

i agree,.. xen, are you a fucking mulit millonaire or something? seems like you are always on the go.... brazil, argentina, asia, etc...... but i like the trip reports and all of your thoughtful insight on the elections, etc..
By Xenono on Sunday, March 28, 2004 - 07:02 pm: Edit |
Multi millionaire? Not even close. Not unless I win the powerball sometime soon. I've just been lucky enough (both with work and finances) to travel a lot more recently. I hope it continues.

i should just take your advice and stop going to nogi and tj, save money and go to rio, asia, and other countries,... the good news is that i am planning my first trip to rio later this year...
By Xenono on Tuesday, March 30, 2004 - 07:59 pm: Edit |
That was the thing that helped me wean myself off Nogales and TJ. I just convinced myself that the money I was spending in Nogales and TJ would be so much better spent in other countries. The session quality was also so much better.
You will have an absolute blast in Rio. If you intend on traveling elsewhere, or have a desire to travel elsewhere, I would not recommend Rio as your first trip though.

Xen--
Been to Nogi a few times, and made my first trip last year to CR. Am curious--why the admonition against starting in Rio?
By Xenono on Monday, April 05, 2004 - 10:12 am: Edit |
My thoughts are that if someone starts in Rio, it will be difficult for them to ever get off of Rio and they will just keep going back whenever they can.
We've seen that time and again on the board. So if someone has a desire to travel to other places I would not recommend Rio as a first trip. However, if someone does not have a desire to explore other destinations, then Rio is a fine choice for a first trip.
By Pendejo on Wednesday, April 07, 2004 - 12:12 pm: Edit |
So I guess my question then is where do you recommend going as a second trip? Had been planning on Rio later this year, but am open to other recommendations.
By Xenono on Wednesday, April 07, 2004 - 03:50 pm: Edit |
I have traveled to Dominican Republic, Philippines, Argentina, Brazil, and Thailand as well as Nogales and TJ in Mexico.
I am going to Hong Kong next month.
I would recommend Thailand, Argentina, and the Philippines as good choices for a second trip.
