Unlike many similar places in Monterrey, Matehuala is still open and still business as usual. I was there in December for a few hours on a roundabout route to the border from the Gulf Coast, and was pretty surprised that things seemed EXACTLY the same as 10 years ago. The place was pretty packed for a Wednesday night at 8 PM, three dance stages were open (though the very back stage was barely staffed).
