Good map! Hey, how come I can't find Porker anywhere?
By Regio on Saturday, June 15, 2002 - 10:19 pm: Edit |
Porker's ALL over the map!!!!!!!

No, this map is indeed an incredible resource. Thanks, Regio!

Regio:
When in Monterrey, I always orient myself from the corner of Cuauhtemoc y Padre Mier, not far from the Hotel Rio tower...
On this map, I find Cuauhtemoc easily enough, but where is Padre Mier-- further south?...Padre Mier runs parallel to Plaza Morelos-- but I do not see that, either...
Obsession is probably a five minute taxi-ride from Cuautemoc y Padre Mier...

YoungBrig,
Padre Mier is further South, 5 or 6 blocks down (from the map's point of view) from 5 de Mayo St. (last street on the map that runs east to west).

Regio:
Thanks for the info...
It looks like Extasis and Poisson are probably the closest major clubs to the intersection of Cuauhtemoc y Padre Mier-- would you consider these clubs walkable from this intersection?...I am estimating that they are within a mile to a mile and a half from my point of orientation...
Is daytime action available at either Poisson or Extasis?...
Are the clubs that are identified with smaller circles and names (e.g., TVO, Le Petit) massage parlors or ficha bars?...

By Regio on Sunday, July 07, 2002 - 06:04 pm: Edit |
Extasis is not a "major" Club. I like it because it's small and seedy and some of the girls are hot.
Both are too far away to walk to them, and you know Monterrey, it's a safe city, but the distances between both of them is quite large, no to mention from the intersection of Cuauhtemoc and Padre Mier.
Poisson has no daytime action. Extasis opens at 2 PM and they have free food and 2x1 on drinks.
I might like the girls at the Extasis, but I have my reservations on the afternoon shift.
The BEST bet is Obession, and Poker agrees with me.
Buffet for 50 pesos, drinks 2x1... Girls are quiet good there...

Regio:
I have done the Obsession thing and have liked it very much...For my next trip, however, my plan is to be a bit more adventurous...I'll try Extasis late night-- maybe...
What can you tell me about Club Colorado?...It is not on your map, but my thinking is that it is further South...My gf used to dance there...In May I got into a cab intending to go there but I allowed myself to get talked into going to Prestige instead...
What would you consider to be the major clubs?...Obsession, Prestige, and...
And is there a second-tier or do they all drop to basically the "small and seedy" category after that?...
Sorry about all the questions but thanks for the help...

TVO is nice, but a little small. Their early evening shift about a month back was about 16 or so chicas, and they were all pretty much 'doable', with some very nice. I have only been there once -- they have a 50 peso cover charge that makes me GAG -- good to have influential amigos like Regio who can make such things go away! I think the privados are 140 pesos.
Re: walking from Padre Mier, I walked UP there a few weeks back, and it took me about half an hour, though it was a hot as hell Saturday morning and I kept ducking from one side of the street to the other searching for an open internet cafe and/or some SHADE.
By Regio on Monday, July 08, 2002 - 08:46 pm: Edit |
No problem YoungBrig, really... glad to help you guys...
OK, by parts:
You say "I have done the Obsession thing and have liked it very much...For my next trip, however, my plan is to be a bit more adventurous...I'll try Extasis late night-- maybe..."
Extasis is full speed ahead by 8:00 pm on Fridays. All the night shift girls have to be the latest by 9:00 PM on other days. Believe me that the place is FULL by 9:00 PM. OK, by midnight it is half full, I accept. And yes, going to Extasis is quite adventurous.
You say "What can you tell me about Club Colorado?...It is not on your map, but my thinking is that it is further South...My gf used to dance there...In May I got into a cab intending to go there but I allowed myself to get talked into going to Prestige instead..."
You definitly need a cab to get to Colorados. It is brother joint to Amnesia and Mitote Clubs. I do not step in those places because the tab can go higher than the one you might pay at Prestige and Obsession.
You say "What would you consider to be the major clubs?...Obsession, Prestige, and..."
Major clubs: Amnesia, Prestige, Obession, Colorados can be considered as the tourist route.
Then come Mitote, TVO, Poisson and Spugna. Next are Zuku Zuku, Don Gume, Extasis, TKCHE.
Le Petit, which you asked and I forgot to answer is an "anything goes" Club. Straight, Gay, Bi, TV, any which way you please.
You can find MANY more on my map... some are incredible... Porker is my witness to the Titanium, but you need to know your way around these places. Not to mention the city.
You ask "And is there a second-tier or do they all drop to basically the "small and seedy" category after that?..."
Yes and no. Spugna (small brother to Poisson) has incredible girls, but the place is small, dark and expensive. I saw during the CART series, some guys from ESPN take some girls out for 300 dollars. That is a ripoff.
Some of my friends do not like TVO, cause its crowded. I like it because it's that way. I do not like Poisson (my friends do), cause the girls are looking for privados way before you even say hello. I know guys from the USA that love the Zuku Zuku, others don't, and you can keep going on and on.
Depends on the eye of the beholder...

Hey Porker how's the weather down there these days. If I come do I need a jacket ?
By Regio on Tuesday, July 09, 2002 - 08:51 pm: Edit |
Beavis: It's Hot. 90 plus some of the days, sometimes hitting 100 and over.
It has rained a couple of days, but in the day time it is still hot and humid...

Regio:
You have sparked my interest in Spugna, and with the posting of this map it looks like it is the most viable walking option from Padre Mier/Cuauhtemoc...
I also like this map because I can finally see some places (e.g., Plaza Morelos) and streets that I recognize...I have been staying at the Hotel Rio (Doubletree) when in town, but I think I am going to give the Howard Johnson (which sits at the other end of Plaza Morelos) a try the next time...
What worries me about Spugna is when you mention the hi-expense potential that exists there...But I am into quality...Is the layout quite a bit smaller than Prestige?...

By Regio on Wednesday, July 10, 2002 - 03:18 pm: Edit |
Spugna is smaller than the TVO, one fourth the size of the Obsession. But it is quite full always because of the size.
And it is walking distance from your hotel, that you are right.
You should take a peek at the Maxims... girls to go in that bar, by the way. Don't know what's the rate right now, but you can find some nice girls there.

Great map Regio.
How did you make it, and how did you post it?

By Gregorio on Thursday, August 08, 2002 - 02:08 am: Edit |
They will have a ticker tape parade on Villagran to honor his return. Socrates will present him the key to the city, and all the ladies will give him free privados from now on...

Hmmm... really? Good to hear from you guys!

Are there any other maps? I can't quite get orientated with this one. I think I was in the Zona Rosa last time I was there, but not too sure, the clubs listed don't sound too familiar.
By Regio on Thursday, May 01, 2003 - 03:33 pm: Edit |
Mac, I asure you that the map is up to date. If you can tell me what was the name of the hotel you were staying, I can give bearings to help you out.
By Macgyver22 on Friday, May 02, 2003 - 10:49 am: Edit |
Crap, I knew you were gonna ask the name... I don't remember exactly, something like the Royal something... The logo is this red crown or something like that. It is right next (south I think) of the open air market. It was one of the cheaper places I found in a hurry, ~$65/night. I think it was on the southern end of the Zona.
Does this ring a bell?
By Regio on Saturday, May 03, 2003 - 07:37 am: Edit |
Mac... If it is the Royalty, you were across the Sheraton Ambassador, a restaurant right across called VIPS also next to the Raddison Ancira and all the spots I included in the map.
Those that ring a bell now?
By Regio on Saturday, May 03, 2003 - 07:46 am: Edit |
Mac, I opened a thread with some modest priced hotels here in Monterrey. Check the Monterrey main index.
Some of the guys from this and other boards have found the Yamallel (they have a web site) acceptable in price and quality and it is in a good location to move around.
By Macgyver22 on Sunday, May 04, 2003 - 08:15 am: Edit |
Ya, I think that's it. Now I ought to be able to figure out what's what. Thanks Regio.
I'll check out the hotel section too.
Don't know when I'll get back down there again, but I'm itching too!
By Regio on Sunday, May 04, 2003 - 10:50 am: Edit |
Mac, don't itch... scratch.
Come back soon.
By Woodway on Tuesday, May 06, 2003 - 11:17 pm: Edit |
Just got back from Monetery and had the chance to hang with Regio and Porker (both great guys). The Hotel Yammel was fine, hot water and a/c. They even have computers for internet use, happy hour and breakfast all free. Hotel Yammel is alos located in an area pretty close to the action or a short cab ride. Regio and Porker, I am still dreaming of the girls at obsession and matahaula (sp). I got the itch bad for monterey and will return very soon. The bus thing fron the border is effortless and relaxing to not have to drive.

Just an update, Regio's maps are an INCREDIBLY INVALUABLE TOOL for the MTY visitor. 95% of the interesting sites for the horny tourist are located within a 3 square mile area of Centro and the major strip clubs are noted on his maps.
