Hotel Sevilla is located at Prisicilliano Sanchez 413
THE GOOD
This hotel costs 320 pesos ($30 USD) for a double. The rooms were spotless and and the bed was comfortable. There is daily maid service that scrubbed the room top to bottom. The maids are trustworthy as they did not touch money that I left out on several occasions.
There are 2 crews of desk workers. The morning people seemed a bit uptight but the night crew was GREAT! These two tall skinny guys with black hair, probably in their late 40's went so far as to help me negotiate with girls that passed by the front of the hotel. On a couple of the nights I drank a beer with them in the lobby.
The lowdown: For 30 USD I got a hotel that would cost 130 USD in the states.
THE BAD
There is a 50 peso ($5 USD) cost to bring guests to the rooms. However this was only enforced about 50% of the time. Also, no English spoke.
There is a gay bar down the street with male whores on the corner...but these guys could tell I was not interested and ignored me.

Looks a little dumpy from the outside, rooms are bland and dull. No view, just a brick wall outside the window. When I asked to see one of the rooms, the female receptionist told me it was "economical." Translation: it has a ceiling with no leaks and the shower is somewhat warm. Didnīt stay there, but was also told it is definitely "guest friendly."
Same price as quoted above.

Both Hotel Hamilton and Hotel Sevilla are only one block away from each other. Hotel Sevilla appears much cleaner looking from the outside and has a more modern appearance. The street which runs parallel to Prisciliano Sanchez, (which is where Hotel Sevilla is located) is Av. Madero. It is between a cross street called Calle Ocampo, which is also in the Zona 1 section, Centro.
These hotels are definitely economical for the traveling monger who might find himself on a tight budget. But if it's luxury and comfort you seek while mongering in Guadalajara, then might I suggest Best Western Hotel(see thread.
