THis hotel is located directly accross the street from tarandas. $100 a night. it is clean and friendly. you will not get hassled by the night watchman (his name is jesus, really old dude) for bringing company back to your room. many of the strippers who work at tarandas stay at hotel mexico. and, it is possible to get them to come to your room for a little action in the afternoon, as i have done it once before. the hotel is clean and there are fans but no AC. i highly recommmend as centro is within walking distance, you will be a block from the beach and there are a few casa de sitas within walking distance.

I remember seeing the place but always assumed it was a dump. I agree that it has a primo location but I don't think I would care to give up my air conditioned room if I was in Mazatlan in the summer! I may try it if I ever visit in the winter. I wonder if the rates go up much in January?

i do not believe so. i passed through mazatlan on new years day of this year. it was still 100 pesos from what i remember. during carnival they do raise rates (march) as much as 200 pesos a room.
