Lets hear about all the great places to eat in Cuidad Juarez!
I have been to Los Arcos twice recently and have enjoyed the seafood. The camarones rellenos are shrimp stuffed with your choice of white cheese or smoked marlin. The filete mazatlan was good also: a grilled fish fillet covered in molten white cheese and white sauce. I'm salivating...
There is a great resturant called Ajuanas(sic) in Juarez, about a block from the burger king as you cross the bridge. Great food, a great selection of Cuban cigars and about 100 different types of tequila. The interior is decorated as a s small cuidad with "its a small world" type decor. I definitely reccomend.
Yes, I believe you are referring to Ajua's - whcih is a converted movie theatre. I agree. The food is great. I did know about the cigars though. I will have to check it out.
I recommend Taco Lucas or "Lucas Tacos" or something like that. It's on the main drag (Av. Benito Juarez) after you take the pedestrian walkway into Juarez. Conveniently close to La Zona Roja.
A very casual atmosphere, but I found the food to be very good, and the service quite friendly.
I had the Lucas Plate. Mmmm, very tasty.

Captain Dave is right about Tacos Lucas on Avenida Juárez, about eight blocks from the bridge on the right side of the street. It's a really great place for breakfast before you head back to the States after your visit.
Another good place is a steak house where you can get any steak you want for $7.80. It's easy to find, but I will have to provide directions rather than an address...
Go to Panama and Hermanos Escobar. The Hotel Villa Manport is at that interestion (a place a *highly* recommended for $33 a night). Serina's Massage Parlour is across the street.
But to find the restaurant, if you are standing in front of the Villa Manport go right from the hotel exactly one block. On the same side of the street, you will find another massage parlour called El Encanto, followed by a bar called Papaguyo's, followed by the restaurant I mentioned, all right next door to each other.
A meal like that would cost you $20 at Cattleman's in the U.S., and I always look forward to it all week...

Well I am certainly glad to hear about the steak
house down the street from the Villa Manport.
There has been many a time I was hungry after all
my exertions at Serenas, but I didnt know where
to go. I will be back in Juarez in about 3 weeks
and will try the steakhouse out first chance I get. Nice to know about the taco place also -I think I will find it also.

From the database at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/yoamolatinas
El Herradero de los Soto / SW corner of Hermanos Escobar & Belice next to Club Papagayos, 2 blocks east of Hotel Villa Manport / Excellent steakhouse, big steaks, great prices. Close to the action.
The database is rather unique on monger forums in that Dougie, the moderator, is careful to publish the precise names and correct addresses of the places posted. We had dinner at El Herradero (which means rancher) two weeks ago, and he impressed me as a person of boundless energy. He uses a bycycle to get around town and is like a one man Lewis & Clark expedition with a mission to record the name and address of every single MP and whore bar in Juárez. Check it out some time. The one thing that frequently seemed missing on other forums was exact names and addresses. I'm sure you'll agree this is a big improvement. (I'll think about you as I chow down on one of those sirlions this afternoon, Doc...)

When downtown try Restaurante San Juanito, NW corner of Av. 16 de Septiembre & Av. Juárez and Restaurante Mi Tenampa, about a block north of Av. 16 de Septiembre on Av. Juárez. They are about equal in quality, both have great chicken and cabrito dishes as well as steaks. Both are very reasonably priced too.
Viva Mexico on Lincoln Ave at the Rotary Club circle. Live mariachi shows Thursday through Sunday. Was there tonight with a new girlfriend. Mixed the show which I'd seen before but the food is greatly improved. Atmosphere raucous. All ages but a slew of young single women dressef to kill. Also in the same building, The Polo Bar. Live music on weekends
What happened to the wife BJ?
Well anyway, On Americas AVE. behind the Villa del Mar is the Porta Bella an Italian restuarant. The chicken marsala is the best I have ever had.
Rabidkang; No se. Went to Juarez last night. Checked the bars in the zona. Nobody claimed to have seen her. Took a young lady I met Christmas to Viva Mexico and went back by my house about midnight. Everything dark and really didn't feel like putting up with her B.S. so went back to El Paso, worked on the board for awhile and slept in my truck. How's that for cowardiceness or whatever! I'm thinking of posting pic of her onsite in hopes people can keep an eye out for her until this depressive episode passes or whatever is going to happen happens! Send me a private email if you like! Perhaps I can use your eyes also. Villa del Mar is a good restaraunt. I was there about two weeks ago with my brother-in-laws boyfriend for a late supper. And before you ask, he had information I wanted and he is the only one in the family that speaks english!
You guys should try the $8 Sirloin grande, termino medio with a side of guacamole at Mitla restaurant right, smack across the street from El Papagayo bar on avenida Hermanos Escobar.
It's not as fancy as El Herradero, but if you get one of the tables close to the entrance you can just look up at the second-floor windows and see the girls come and go inside El Encanto MP. Great way to warm up before the date. Tecates are $2.
You are right, man, Mitla's is good, too...
My restaurant guide has died since I discovered the 17 shrimp Fiesta de Camarones at the Villa Del Mar on V. Guerrero across the street from Futurama.
I keep thinking I should add another restaurant page to the Juarez Tour Guide web site, but I keep going back for his great dish...
But I'm taking notes here and will get around to some of the place you guy's are talking about eventually.
