Just returned from a 3 day weekend.
Stayed in the Caribe motel. $30 a night,$5 key deposit. This is the motel on the west side of the street, across from el Pescador.Decent, clean rooms. Not the Hilton but very decent. No problem at all bringing back guests.Secure parking and with a couple blocks at most from all the action.
Not a huge selection of girls but no problem finding company for the evening.Prices for girls seemed to be more negotiable, possibly slow time?
There seemed to be quite a few more very young girls available than last time we were there just before 9/11.

I stayed at the Caribe earlier this week and found it OK. The downstairs rooms (without TV) go for 250 pesos or $25 and allow private access for the girls. They can come through the Caribe entrance or, later all night through another parking lot entrance up by Anthony's.
Later in the evening when the security gate is closed we (chica and I) did walk through the mini-lobby right past the night watchman without any comment other than a hello.
One night a chica suprisedly came by my door and came in for a 400 peso 30 minute session. She told me that the desk lady alerted her to men that checked in that day.
The place is 1 block from all the clubs. I'd stay again.

Does anyone have pictures of the rooms in Caribe that they could post? I'm trying to find it in Google maps street-view so a picture of the building would also be great.

Absolutely safe walking in that part of Ensenada at night. The only risk are a few gender confused SGs who may reach into your pocket if you aren't mindful.
Caribe is an absolute dump, but if you get a room with a view towards the street instead of the rear parking lot, it can be enjoyable because it is right in the middle of the action. The place is kind of "cute" like a small Euro hotel, it is clean enough and has good extended cable TV and is conveniently located, but the last couple of times I stayed there years ago I swore it off because the beds were seriously uncomfortable, the room is tiny, and the bathroom fairly primitive. So the spirit of adventure and convenience and saving a few bucks made me happy to stay there a few times 10 years ago, but if I go to Ensenada now, I'd prefer to stay and more comfortable places that are just a few blocks further south of Caribe - more comfortable and modern with facilities like nice swimming pools with adjacent bars. They cost more, but in this economy they can't be too damned much money. It's been a while for me to give more specifics than this, but there are so many Ensenada websites with hotel info and links.
The old hotel that shares a parking lot with Caribe and is directly across the street from Anthony's is a decent place - especially for bringing a TJ chica to for a weekend WHO LIKES TO COOK since they have nice fully equipped kitchen suites. I believe this hotel is called "Santa Tomas" or something close to that. I had a blast there with a TJ chica just a couple of years ago...my last trip to Ensenada.
