I have stayed here more than once and can tell you it is one of the best hotels in Mexicali. It is not cheap around 80 to 150 a room but the service and ammenties are fantastic.
If money is no object try out this place. It is surrounded by a huge stone wall for that "resort" feel and is huge with 3 different hotels in one. It has a tower hotel and Bungalos which are very nice and a "side strip" hotel right above their nice Italian restaurant. In total they have 3 restaurants here and they are all first class. They also have a nice weight room and 2 pools and also a VIP suite which they rent out to executives and stars. You will never have to worry about your car being stolen as thier lot is very secure with multiple security guards. They also have a nice small dance club inside which is sort of like a little Ochoas in TJ.
It is tuff to stay elsewhere when you have been in this hotel.

They have a weekend special for 820 pesos a night.
This hotel is known to be "not chica friendly"
But you can still sneak girls inside.
They have a nice dance club that will remind you of Ochoas in Tijuana.

They have a great weekend rate of like 80 dollars a night. If the peso continues to drop then it may be around 70 dollars a night. The cheapest I stayed there was 73 dollars
This is my favorite hotel in Mexicali and they will continue to get my business. They have the nicest people working there. They all know me by name now even though I go down 3-4 times a year and the doormen are great and have up to the date info on the Mexicali dance club/bar scene.
I wouldn't stay anywhere else!

Why would I pay $80 for a hotel which is not chica friendly?

All the top hotels in Mexicali have strict security when it comes to brigning chicas late at night. Of course they can always be sneaked in. For 80 dollars you get one of the nicest hotels in Mexicali and it has 2 pools and nice bars and great places to eat as well.

Why not stay in a hotel that is chica-friendly?

I never had a problem with girls going to my room although It only happened one time and it was during the day. I don't stay in hotels because they are chica friendly or cheap. I go for the best deal, atmosphere and safety. This is not a zona hotel the Tj guys are used too.
A security guard isnt going to second guess me with a hot chica

Lucerna has gone the distance when it comes to security. They have added multiple cameras all the over complex and even gated certain areas that were being used to sneek in girls after hours. The once usable "sneak a girl in thru the Cabanas" is no longer in service.
They have blocked off the Cabana paths with flower gardens and gates.
