For the traveling monger, one of the better and more comfortable economical motels I can recommend in San Felipe is a very attractive freshly painted quiet little motel in the back streets of this small fishing village, which is known as "Motel Don Jesus."

Prices are $35.00 per night for a queen size bed,which is standard price. Rooms with two beds are a few dollars more, which is somewhat affordable and definitely well worth the safety considering the night security you are constantly provided with.

I would definitely recommend this location, as each time I've stayed here, the service I get is always he same. It is located at Avenida Mar Baltico, # 735, just two blocks from the ocean, going westbound. The nearest cross street is a street called Mexicali Calz.Chetumal. The owner, Jose Ernesto Coronel Robles is a pleasant delightful gentleman who knows what the customer wants and certainly knows his business.

You can tell he and his staff didn't go to the same customer relations classes like the hotel employees at the rat holes in the Zona Norte, Tijuana! He knows his business and knows how to make you feel at home.

It also has a friendly and courteous staff who are very tourist friendly. They appreciate the American tourist business and love the American dollar and they make your stay a worthwhile and pleasant one while you're visiting.

Everyone is polite and they give complimentary bottles of ice cold water in the hot season. Soap and shampoo, along with thick white towels are replaced every day. Rooms are are always thoroughly cleaned daily, beds are comfortable and cable TV with movies is also provided.

Sorry, but no porn channels here, as this is rather a family oriented type of motel. It has a pool and night security is also present to watch over your vehicle, so always be sure and tip the night security guard to let him know you appreciate his presence, which in turn gives the guest peace of mind.

Whenever I stay here, I always make it a point to tip the desk clerk, housekeeper and security personnel to let them know I do appreciate their welcoming hospitality.

San Felipe is an extremely hot town. Wherever you stay, it is imperative that you get a room with a working air conditioner. Not fan, but a full powered air conditioner. You'll need it, especially in the summer months.

One thing I noticed, is each time I brought a chica (hooker) from one of the local bars back to my room, the staff didn't seem to mind. At least they didn't give the the Gestapo-type questioning which is what usually occurs in the hotels in the Zona Norte in Tijuana.

Motel Don Jesus is definitely one of the more recommended economical stays while in S.F. It's quiet, clean and the staff are very friendly. Cost: $35 per night. Well worth it, considering all the other hotels overlooking the ocean are going to gauge you for much more money.

Included is cable TV and an all-night security guard who watches over the property and all the vehicles.

The exact location is: Avenida Mar Baltico, #735 San Felipe.Beds are comfortable and it's only a couple of blocks walking distance from the beach.

During the heavy tourist season, I would strongly suggest making reservations as the hotels will always be full especially around Spring Break.
