Just an observation or two on hotels:

If you drive across, or even if you walk across and carry a small bag, here are some hotel essentials:

1. nice, soft toilet paper.
2. pillow
3. light blanket or throw
4. several small bottles of shampoo/conditioner
5. several small bars of soap
6. nightlight
7. small flashlight
8. air freshener

Naturally everyone's mileage may vary and even hotel room vary, but my feeling is that I have a small kit bag in the trunk and at one time or another I have used all of these things.
