Here is the front entrance of Boys Town in Nuevo Laredo...if anyone wants to take a chance getting there in light of the latest narco drug wars.

If I had back all the money I've dropped inside the walls of that compound over the years, I'd retire to the Philippines--right now.
I gotta admit though, I had some GREAT times there way back when. First time I set foot in there was 1979, and really became an aficionado in the 80s and 90s. That place has some incredible history.
The magazine "Texas Monthly" ran a great story about the zona way back in May of the year of our lord, 1980. I still have the copy that I bought back then. The title was "Town Without Pity" and the subtitle was "Nuevo Laredo's Red-Light District Abounds With Raw Sex and Broken Dreams."
I may take it, see if I can get it scanned, and try to upload it to the board--probably strictly prohibited by copyright laws though.
