Cheap hotels at the bus station

I had an all-nighter set up with a NL dancer a couple months back, but had absolutely no clue about a hotel to use, and neither did my LOVE. Paid a taxi driver 100 pesos at 7 AM (OUCH!!!) to take us to a hotel, and he dropped us at some swanky looking place near a major chain grocery store shopping plaza. Rooms ran upwards of 800 pesos per night, and checkout was at 1 PM, so even my chica said 'SCREW THIS' we can find something better.
Well, my idea was to head to the Central bus station, as there are a ton of hotels on that block, though none in any way resemble the RITZ. We ended up walking up some makeshift stairway from a restaurant and getting a room w/ A/C for less than 300 pesos. The good news is that we checked in at 8 AM and were told that we had the room for the next 24 hours. A/C blasted, bano was clean, TV got 4 channels. Ahh, paradise!
Anyway, not a place to impress the love of your life, but if you're in a pinch and need a place to flop in NL, you could do a lot worse for the money.
Porker,
In the Past I have always used the Hotel Cesar Palace on the Monterrey HWY. I used to be 250 ofr a single, plus an extra 50 for a guest, and 300 for a double..., but the prices went up lst time I was there a bit, possibly as much as 100 pesos each. They just put up a new hotel next to it, Comfort Inn, Holiday Inn or something,so there should be plenty of rooms, a problem in the past. It is on the Monterrey Highway heading South from Boystown. They are cool about guests, and I have always had a great time there.
One time I also took a date to a room to the North of Boystown. You go out the exit and there are a few cheap hotels about a half mile down the road. They are in your price range and don't seem to mind company either, but the lock didn't work and that was a problem for me. Otherwise they were clean rooms..., and also had parking.
Have fun,
Sluffy
