So far Rio, Coco Loco, and La Jungla are all out of business. Lord Black and Ferni's are on their last legs. Mexicanomics were in full effect in Lord Black. $5 per drink and they wanted cover which I refused to pay because of my VIP card. All the remaining bars were totally empty. I hope we can successfully topple all these shitty bars. Seems like all the bars died out in the mid to late 90's then they came back stronger than ever. Maybe this can happen once again.
By Phoenixguy on Monday, June 12, 2006 - 09:15 pm: Edit |
I went down this past Saturday and the place is nothing but a shadow of its former self. Probably going to stay that way as long as they think they can maintain those prices...
By Catocony on Tuesday, June 13, 2006 - 07:15 am: Edit |
I think Mr. Bill pulled out of town at the right time. Nogie could be great - 50 minutes from Tucson, a few hours more from Phoenix, the interstate deadends right there and the bars are 50 feet from the border - but the dickwads running the bars are to stupid to realize it. Charging US prices for US services and sky-high prices for "Mexican" service is not to enticing.

"nogales is shit".........Roberto
By Alecjamer on Wednesday, June 14, 2006 - 03:57 pm: Edit |
I agree. I went to Nogales once after having been to Boystown in Laredo Neuvo (numerous times). I was incredibly disappointed with Nogales...who the fuck do those Nog Mexicans think they are charging prices like they do...gringos?
I hope they all price themselves out of business and become so damn desperate that the prices realign with what is reasonable for Mexico.

Can someone summarize the price history for the casual monger?
By Roberto on Wednesday, June 14, 2006 - 05:17 pm: Edit |
I don't even know why I bother any more. Maybe it is nostalgia. Actually I do go down to buy pills, etc. Sometimes I will go to Conga.
By Lordbrs on Wednesday, June 14, 2006 - 06:56 pm: Edit |
Senator,
I first went there (and was shocked to be offered extra's) 5 or 6 years ago. At that time, the girl I got a dance from said $10 for a BJ and $30 for FS. Haven't been there in over a year but I'm guessing you could multiply that by 5 or 6 times to get current prices...if you bargain with them. That's for $15 minutes in a little booth.
The border is not what it used to be.

By Catocony on Wednesday, June 14, 2006 - 09:34 pm: Edit |
It's booth action - a small chair, you and the girl. Pretty bad even in good times, but it was cheap and convenient. I would park at the McDonalds and walk across the border, hop over the railroad tracks and there you were. From parking on the US side to being in a club was, what, 4 minutes? Getting back was actually faster, never a line. From club to car, about 3 minutes walking. From McDonalds to downtown Tucson is about 45 minutes, so if you were in Tucson you could be down and back and do a couple of programs in 3 hours or so.
The last time I was in Nogie was either December 2002 or sometime in the spring of 2003, so 3 - 3.5 years ago. The prices had already skyrocketed, but the curtains and doors were still on the booths. I think it was later that year the Mexican brain trust decided to remove the curtains and doors, so you were left with spending over a hundred bucks to fuck a girl for five-ten minutes while sitting on a little plastic chair in more-or-less plain site.
Pathetic. I hope you guys are all going to Agua Prieta these days.
By Phoenixguy on Wednesday, June 14, 2006 - 09:57 pm: Edit |
While they've certainly done their share of stupid things, in all fairness removing the doors from the privados certainly wasn't the club owners' idea. As best I could tell it was some holier-than-thou type at the local paper that stirred the pot until the local politicos decided to outlaw "privados". For a while thereafter there was no action available in the clubs, which greatly reduced their business. In typical Mexicanomics fashion, they decided the way to get their income back up was raise prices to ridiculous levels. That said, before any of this happened prices in Nogi had already gotten way out of line with places like TJ (or so I hear).
The bad news on the club closings is that the TD's folks will probably be the only ones with pockets deep enough to survive the bad times - and in all likelihood their control of a majority of the clubs in town was the reason for the steep prices to begin with.

Lordbrs, you are right on regarding the prices in Nogie. Six years ago sometimes we would go down on a Thursday. You could get an even better deal with less competition. Man, I miss the old Nogie. The good news is I just paid the same price $75 to $100US for 4 to 6 hours in a bed for great sex with a 9 or better in Colombia. The only downside is Colombia is a bit further from my house. AZ

$150-$180 for FS in Mexico??? WTF?
By Happyboy on Thursday, June 15, 2006 - 03:51 pm: Edit |
that is crazy, i havent been down to nogi for over a year now.. I am not going to pay $150-$200 for sexo in a booth.. i just plan trips to TJ every two months, i go about 6-7 times a year... good to see you guys still on the board.. griff, phoenixguy and roberto!!!
justdan and i were in tj last week.. bluelight and i are going to rio in august..

Let's get as many people as we can and do an offical AP Saturday fiesta this summer.
By Lordbrs on Thursday, June 15, 2006 - 04:57 pm: Edit |
hehehe That might be fun though the prices drive me nuts. I'd rather buy something new for my bike than pay that much for a few minutes in a closet. I don't care how hot the girl is.
It's scary to think that even Puerto Penasco is cheaper than Nogi now. (And I did post there.)
I think it's going to be cheaper to get married soon. Maybe I should import a girl now while it's still pretty cheap for that. LOL

If you schedule an AP fiesta, please set it up for a Saturday for us Phoenix types. I figure it's at least a 4 hour drive from my house. Maybe I could catch up with one of the Tucson guys for the last 2 hours - if someone is staying the night. I'd be road kill if I tried to drive 4 hours back to Phoenix after hitting the bars.
As for me...I still visit Nogi on rare occasions, but I'm mostly an asian monger these days. Back to LOS for a week of fun over the 4th of July week, then hopefully back to the Philippines over Labor Day.
By Azguy on Thursday, June 15, 2006 - 09:39 pm: Edit |
Count me in. phxguy, I'd be happy to drive from Tucson. Let me know if you guys set it up. AZ
By Roberto on Friday, June 16, 2006 - 05:33 pm: Edit |
It will definitely be a Saturday. AP is as cheap as it gets. I will stay at the Conquistador Motel.
By Lordbrs on Friday, June 16, 2006 - 05:41 pm: Edit |
What's airfare to the Phili's now?? I've never seen anything under $750 and that's mostly on China air. Not to mention a travel time of at least 24 hours.
Oh well. Let me know on the AP. I'd love to at least try and make it.

I've only been across the border in AP once and did not have a clue where I was going or even if ladies were available. Walked about ten blocks south and saw almost zero sign of commerce or life. Even the taxi drivers did not hustle me. Does anybody have a decent map that they can post.
By Roberto on Saturday, June 17, 2006 - 05:25 pm: Edit |
There is no map but the zona is on Avenida 2 or Second Avenue. Find it from the border and walk or take a taxi about 1 mile. There a very desolate area with old buildings and that is it. There must have been a bunch of brothels back in the good ole days. Ask for Flamingos, 5th Patio, or Paraiso. It can be tough to find a cab so sometimes I hire a local.
There are also several strip clubs in town and the no tell motel. Go read the Agua Prieta post before you go. You are guaranteed a good time if you are not a pussy like some on these boards.

Well alright you friggin Nancy's! Lets quit talkin about it and set a date. I have been to AP about 5 times in the last 3 years but not in the last 6 months. Im ready, deal me in!

I'm in LOS Jun30-Jul09, so those two weekends are out for me.

Typical Mexico, business is down so raise prices and treat VIP's like Newbees!
Everyone that I have met that has goen to Nogie says it IS the worst sex destination ever.
They should have some guy start an internet escort company as it would probably be cheaper and satisfy everybody.
Or go to Mexicali!
Who is this Griff guy ?
By Catocony on Sunday, June 18, 2006 - 05:06 pm: Edit |
I would that Nogie is the worst sex destination ever that considers itself to be a sex destination. I guess it's better than Omaha NE but then again I've never gotten laid in Omaha.
By Roberto on Sunday, June 18, 2006 - 09:19 pm: Edit |
Griff is a legend.
Nogales is what you make of it. If you are the typical gringo tourist you are screwed. If you know people down there and speak Spanish you will always find what you are looking for at the local rate.
By Griff on Tuesday, June 20, 2006 - 01:11 am: Edit |
couldn't agree more.....about Nogales being what you make of it. Truer words have never been spoken. having a few reliable contacts down there is priceless. I gripe about Nogales a lot but I have had some great times down there. Fact remains that unless you are a living legend, it can be a very hard time having fun for a reasonable price.
And Lechero....you pipedown! I actually have a Mexicali connection, Milkster. You would be proud.

Ok, so who's up for an AP fiesta one Sat night mid July or later?
By Roberto on Tuesday, June 20, 2006 - 04:50 pm: Edit |
I am but need ample notice so I can come up with a good lie.
By Phoenixguy on Tuesday, June 20, 2006 - 08:17 pm: Edit |
I get back from LOS July 9th. Most any weekend after that will probably do for me.
By Cretin7g on Wednesday, August 29, 2007 - 05:35 pm: Edit |
What do guys think about which is the best hotel in Nogales, Mexico in terms of comfort, being close to the zona etc?
By Roberto on Wednesday, August 29, 2007 - 07:34 pm: Edit |
I would say hotel Olivia. About a block south of Sr. Amigo.
By bluelight on Wednesday, August 29, 2007 - 08:55 pm: Edit |
Get a king room at Hotel Fray De Marcos. The resturant there is excellent also.
By Phoenixguy on Wednesday, August 29, 2007 - 11:00 pm: Edit |
Frey Marcos is nice, but not guest friendly. Would be my #1 choice if sleeping alone though.
If you're looking to bring a friend back to the room, Hotel Granada never gave me any grief about guests. It's a pretty good walk from the border, but just a brief hop in a taxi. The off duty cop working security at Granada has even gone down the street to pick up cigs and drinks for my guests from the convenience store.
