Club Salsa, on the island of Cozumel, is a well known establishment amoung the cruise lines as a place male tourist sem to ask the most directions to once the boat has docked. Now, many believe it's becuase of the over size drinks they serve. Or because every cab driver on the island knows the way there for a set fee of $5. However, it's really because the owners of this fine establishment go to great pains, (Finding, Repeatedly Interviewing, and Training the New Talent) to offer the widest selction available on the island.

When you walk into the place you may be saying to yourself..."What a dive!" and by American standards, you would be right. Even when you are thinking with your "Lil Head", you probably would never be in a place like this in the states!

However once you are seated and start to get your bearings, the landscape becomes much more appealing. You'll notice there is a hall in the back, that leads to a seeming endless series of rooms. What could be going on back there? What ever you can afford, and the price is right!

I felt safe, the drinks weren't watered down, (Although i wouldn't have cared, I wasn't there to drink.) The selection varied...girls looking as young as 18 and as old as your mother; some aggressive who will approach our table and some shy (until you get in the back room).

Negotiations open at $40-$60 for the hour, plus tips to the towel guy, ($5 if you don't wanna be bothered at exacxtly 60 minutes}and $20+ for the girl if she meets or exceeds your expectations.

Condoms, for the most part, are optional and you will find that as soon as your "make your deposit" the girl will be on her way to shower in the room to "clean herself". Most reassuring.

The girls are imported from all over the South American Continent and speaking English is encouraged by management. Keep in mind that depending on how long the girl has been working will effect how well she speaks it. (Do you really mind as long as her mouth is full?)

Can anyone provide directions for walking from the cruise ship terminal to Club Salsa? I haven't been to Cozumel before, but will be stopping there during an upcoming cruise. After being cooped up on a ship for a couple of days, I like to take a good walk for some exercise, and Club Salsa sounds like a reasonable walking destination. Can anyone help? Thanks.

For the guy who wants to walk to Salsa from the cruise ship pier, it really depends on which pier your cruise ship pulls up to - there are two piers at which the cruise ships dock on Cozumel, the newer one being just on the south edge of downtown San Miguel (the only real city on Cozumel), which funnels all passengers through a modern duty free shop & into a very modern mall, Punta Langosta, or something like that. If you debark there, its quite a hike, maybe three miles, down to La Salsa, & I would suggest the cab. The other cruise ship terminal is a couple of miles south of San Miguel, by the La Ceiba/El Cid Hotel. If you get off there, its an easy walk straight back away from the water maybe three blocks along the avenue (I forget its name, but its the only divided avenue there) where there is a stop light (its the only stoplight for a long ways on the main waterfront road, Ave. Rafael Melgar). My experience with Salsa has been very mixed - occasionally there have been one or 2 real beauties there, more often, I'll sit for an hour or two nursing a few beers & never see a girl that I deem worth paying for - just older women that look like they've been rode hard & put away wet (to borrow an old cowboy expression).
