Despite the French spelling (and no fish theme!) the locals say it like 'poison' with a hard S sound. It's an absolutely beautifully appointed strip club with 30 foot ceilings and wall to wall glass and elevated stages and plenty of high end strippers located on Zaragoza, near the corner of Aramberri. As you might imagine, with such an upscale decor, the prices are pretty high.

Going early can make it a bit more affordable, though, like most places in Monterrey. An early Friday evening a few months back saw a 30 peso cover, and the beers were 2x1 until 10 PM, I believe.

There was generally one dancer on the HUGE mainstage who would then rotate to the catwalk stages which seemed to be up in the SKY they were so high. The chicas are cute and can be pseudo-aggressive, stopping by fairly regularly to introduce themselves and inquiring whether you'd like to throw them some business. Table dances in the bar seemed to be like 150 pesos for a song and the privado options started at 40+ dollars. Beware when agreeing to buy drinks that there are different tiers of ficha drink prices. My girl ordered a whiskey and it was like 60 pesos, but a friend's girl ordered a can of Tecate and it was like 160 pesos. Which she downed in 5 minutes and left. OUCH!

The chicas were both rather plentiful and attractive, easily competing with the chicas at Obsession in the looks department. A friend and I both had blonde girls that claimed to be from Venezuela, though it could have been BS for all I know.

Anyway, if you're looking for yet another upscale strip clubin Monterrey, Poisson is quite nice. And yes, YoungBrig, they have you run a tab that you can pay with plastic.

Table dances are 100 pesos and I told that the privado was 500. My Chica had three Tecate's and left with me well worth it but it was A gamble.

Made only my second visit here this past weekend, and it re-affirmed my initial impressions that this is a quite nicely appointed club that is WAAAAY too expensive for a coin-return trolling dude like me. They gigged us for a 70 peso per person cover charge on a SUNDAY NIGHT, and the 2x1 drinks end at 10 PM. Before 10, though, it's not nearly as bad, w/ half price cover and 2x1 drinks.

As AR stated above, dances start at 100 pesos for a table dance on the main level, 200 for a table in a more private second level overlooking the rest of the bar, and 500 pesos for 10 minutes in a truly private setting where 'touching and kissing all over' was the advertised selling point.

Anyway, at 1 AM on a Sunday night there were at least 15+ chicas, most above the Monterrey strip club curve in looks. I'd even be tempted to buy a low-end table dance from the floppy titted dancer, and that's saying quite a bit for a dyed in the wool Matehuala 'don't pay more than 50 pesos' pimper.

Bottom line: Poisson's not the worst deal in town if you can get there before 10 PM. And it really should be seen at least once on a trip to Monterrey.

It's a very nice looking club inside - very American look and feel too...so much so that it leaves you thinking why should you be here when you can pay these prices in America. Also, there is a weirdness to it...kind of like the club is slanted with you looking upwards at the dancers trying not to fall off! You have to experience it know what I mean. As for the chicas there that night, they are alright but nothing to warrant the cover that Porker and I paid that night. Bottom line, I'd say skip it.

PS: Then again the 2 chick duo in jeans were hot...I have always theorized that strippers in jeans would look hot and they did...but man it took them awhile to get out of those jeans...too long...oh well good in theory!

From today's Sol (afternoon newspaper): 6 So. American girls (5 Venezeualans) were detained last night for immigration violations and were bused to Mexico City to await deportation.

Dude, can you imagine having a few thousand pesos and ending up being 'forced' to ride that bus with these girls?

As the Monterrey crowd already knows Marlen was the runner up in the Seņorita Table Dance 2004 contest hosted by Adal Ramones on Otro Rollo.

If she's at all representative in both looks and talent I might be persuaded to ante up the cover charge if I'm ever in town.

Poisson fields a decent lineup. As of 14 mos. ago, you could avoid the excessive covers/drink fees by arriving before ~10PM (the earlier the better re: pricing). Of course the same is true at most of the upscale clubs in MTY, you just need to pick one and go.

Mmmmm Poisson girls. As Porker says, they do have a decent lineup, but you can find great girls on most of the average priced clubs.
Never had a guy from the States complaining about quality!
