You get almost 2 AUS dollars for one of ours--it's actually about 1.9 to 1. Change your USD at the airport exchange booths in AUS or make a withdrawal with your ATM card when you hit AUS.
Plane fare would be about $1000 RT, but that varies with deals. Check the travel section in the Sunday papers for deals or try Orbitz or Travelocity for deals.
The seasons are the opposite there, so they are entering winter. Not cold, but chilly. The Christmas season is summer and the topless beaches of Australia are at their height then.
When in AUS, forget the strip clubs. They are just tabletop dances with the only nudity in the back with big tips, and basically no or limited contact.
