Salon 28 is located at 28 Ponsonby Road in Ponsonby. This district is next to Newton where Pelican Club is located, and I actually walked from PC to Salon 28 at night. It didn't seem dangerous, but the walk was longer than expected, maybe 20 minutes or more, and included walking down and up a big hill.

The massage parlor is located in the back part of a beauty salon. They'll ask you to pay first with different time options, but if you request they should let you see the girls first. They were stocking Chinese and Koreans when I visited last year, but from my understanding they occasionally have other Asians. Most if not all the girls do not or speak very little English.

Two of five girls I saw were attractive, the others were fair. After I had selected and was in the back I saw two stunners and was bummed that they weren't available when I was choosing.

After paying, you're lead down a narrow hall of massage rooms to a locker room where you have to put your stuff in a padded locker and change into a pocketless robe, making it difficult to bring in a camera.

The facilities were not as nice as the brothels I visited, but they were adequate for a massage parlor. The girl I selected was Chinese and pretty, but service was average.

I don't recall what I paid, but it was less than the brothels. I'm guestimating it was about 140 NZD or $90 USD.

Despite the average facilities and session, I would probably still return, but only after visiting at least Pelican Club, Femme Fatale, and Famous Floras first.
