If you are planning an adventuring trip to Montreal, I *highly* recommend this hotel. It's located right in the middle of the downtown area, which is optimal if you intend to dabble in the downtown escort scene. There's lots of great places to eat just a short walk away. I paid $55 US for a "junior suite" (I imagine it's higher on weekends) plus room tax ($11 US, which is exorbitant, I know). I got a large, spacious room with a king-sized bed, a loveseat, and a breakfast table. Cable channels are mostly (but not all) in French. I'm not sure if they have porn.
There are about 14 floors; I got a room on the 10th floor. Go for one of the upper floors if you can... it's quieter, up away from the noise down below on the street.
You can park your car in the lot across the street. It's an open-air lot, but the area seems relatively safe. They charge $12 Canadian per night (about $8 US) with full in-out privileges. (in-out privileges... heh heh)
I had no problem at all being "visited" in my room by a couple of escorts. They supposedly have a policy stating that "no unregistered guests are allowed in rooms after 11pm", but one girl dropped by at 1am or thereabouts and experienced no hassles.
Address of the hotel is 1214 Crescent St.

Farsider,
Do I really need a car if I stay at this Hotel?
How is the public transportation i.e. metro/subway?
Thanks!

Hmmmmmm... good question. I had a rental car for other purposes, so I didn't really check out the public transportation in Montreal. It definitely exists though, and this hotel is pretty centrally located. I imagine you'd be able to function without a car.
Perhaps others with experience in this area might chime in here...

Even though you're talking about the French province of my homeland, allow me to reflect on your remark! Canada? Safe?? They don't allow the bastards to own guns in that country!!! There's few safer destinations on earth than Canada. Perhaps the area was really seedy and run down and you were concerned about getting mugged - now that could still happen, but it's pretty rare.
There's a saying amongst Anglo-Canuucks that if we let Quebec leave the country, there'd be no strippers and hookers left for the rest of Canada.
Did you like Montreal enough to want to go back?

Depends on where you want to go. I was there for work 6 yrs ago and I had to travel off the island a lot. If you stay in the immediate area of downtown the metro is probably better than having a car. Here are some links:

My hotel was way down at the end of the green line near the Langelier stop, but I never took the metro into downtown. I remember there were tons of escort services. I'd read current reviews and find some good ones. I remember in '96 escorts were $120 Canadian for 1 hr, BBBJ, 2 pops, any position. It was a great deal and Montreal has some good looking women. I do remember the escorts complaining having to drive out to me from downtown.
There were a few massage places I would drive to downtown, but I'm sure they're closed now-I'd check boards for recent information. There are also a lot of clubs on the south shore with dancers, but I didn't do any of them. For this you would need a car and it a pretty long drive.

DG... no, the area was not run down. I certainly felt safer than in a similar area in, say, New York or Philly. Maybe mongering in TJ has caused me to constantly be on the lookout whenever partaking in our hobby...LOL.
Yes, I would like to go back to Montreal, although I think next time I'll do it when the weather is warmer.

I had "experience" at this hotel and can confirm that it's a nice place. If you schedule an incall, you'll likely end up in this area which appears clean and safe. Current rates appear to start at $110CAN if booked directly. You can get a lower rate at an equivalent hotel via Hotwire or Priceline if you're OK with not knowing exactly which hotel you'll end up at.
