This is the thread for Montreal restaurants... feel free to add your favorite eatery to it.

"Beauty's" (mt. royale?) is a great place for omlettes and bagels with lox. The BEST I have eaten anywhere. I eat all my meals there, when in montreal.
I forgot the name of the place - but it's well known. Great "smoked meats" sandwiches - or Pastrami, as it's called in New York.
Just ask anyone there waht's a good place for smoked meats, and they'll direct you to this joint.
Very good place to go after you've had YOUR meat smoked.

St. Huberts, the rotisserie chain, has the best chicken hands-down. Excellent stuff, and they are all over Montreal.
My favorite place downtown is Le Alouette, on St. Catherine a few blocks west of Peel. Awesome steakhouse, fairly cheap as well. There is an excellent Italian place a few blocks beyond that, north of St. Catherines at Concordia University. I'll dig my credit-card statements out later today and post the name and number. Excellent stuff.
I've never really had a bad meal in Montreal. A lot of the places in Veux Montreal are tourist clip joints, with overpriced food or mediocre stuff, but I've eaten in a couple of excellent places there, one a seafood house and the other a steak house.

Only New York City has more restaurants than Montreal (in North America). It's not only total quantity of restos that count, but variety. With its vast ethnic diversity, you'll find plenty of unusual places to chow down. Here are a few noteworthy places to grab some grub.
Schwartz's (3895 Boul. St. Laurent) is the smoked meat joint ... and it really is a joint. It's often crowded and a line-up outside. They pack 'em in inside and you'll be sitting with other folks, be prepared ... for a great eat.
St. Viateur's Bagels (263 St. Viateur West) is the place to go for Montreal's specialty bread product. They bake 'em right there in front of you, in a wood fired oven. Wait around for a few minutes and you'll get a piping hot bagel right out of the oven. No toppings needed when they're this fresh.
Eggspectation (several locations, see http://www.eggspectation.ca/locations_canada.html) is a lively breakfast and lunch place. This is a comfy resto, though you do have to sit on a hard chair or bench. They specialize in all things eggy, but they also have terrific crepes and Belgian waffles.

Restarants With Nude Waitresses
Yes, they exist in Montreal... has anyone checked them out? I wanted to, but didn't have time.
One place, Les Princesses, is located at 2533 rue St. Catherine E. Another, Les Courtisanes is at 5000 rue Hochelaga. There are also a few others.
The waitresses in these places, as implied, ply their trade sans habillement. Not just topless... supposedly, there's more bush in view in these places than at a presidential family reunion. The only article of clothing they wear is a thin, transparent veil around their waist.
No word if "extras" are available from these waitresses besides serving food, but apparently, it isn't part of their job description.
