Day One: Traveling and Costa Rica

Getting to Costa Rica from San Diego is a long day of traveling as you have to go through Houston and you lose two hours and then gain one back. My plane was delayed by one hour and I didn't get to my hotel until around 11pm or so. My buddy Jonesie set up a standard room at Castillo and the room is extremely basic for $43. It is a step up from a private room at a backpacker guest house. I knew I would not be there but a night so I didn't mind.

It was late, so Jonesie gave me a ride to the Del Rey as it was really the only venue available at that time. This was a Wednesday night but you could definitely see that the Del Rey did have some cute girls(2 in my eyes) but it reflects the daytime lineup you see at Adelita's as the girls are much older(average age 28) and look worn out. Maybe I am spoiled from other venues but I still think Costa Rica is a place for amateurs who don't demand much from the girls and don't mind an older, friendly Latina who speaks some English. It is the only destination where the average monger is actually older than the average monger in Angeles City. I guess a guy in his 60's and 70's looks at a girl in her 30's as a young lady so it makes sense. From my buddies comments, I guess the really hot older Colombian girls are now in Panama City which is booming at this time.

I made a couple laps and downed a few Imperial Light beers. Did see a fellow TJ monger there and chatted a bit. I realized at 2:00 am that I was going to have to just bite the bullet and get a below-average looking girl or go home alone. I did see a Dominican girl that looked cute in the club and was really sweet so took her to the hotel. The girl did not look so good without makeup and clothes. Blown out front side from child birth and deflated tits. That is another drawback at freelancer places like the Del Rey is that you get a lot of well-packaged mommies that disappoint in the room. Luckily for me the girl was really great in the sack. The girl was a flat out animal in bed. Her performance was off the charts with BBFS, DFK and DATY with a bald pussy. She left after about 2 hours and I gave her $60 as agreed upon.

Woke up and had breakfast at the Sportsman's Lodge which has a great breakfast for 3,000 Colones(Colones near 504-1 dollar). There were around 6 girls there trying to close me on taking them for a quickie and one was a cute Dominican with huge real tits. Just did not see it as a value even with the Nicaraguan girl wanting to do a $40 Short time session. Had to check out at Noon so met Jonesie in at a restaurant in Escazu and we put my luggage in his apartment until our flight at 6:20pm. Ran a bunch of errands to buy generic Cialis, change dollars to Euros(mandatory for Cuba) and have lunch.

Last Night on the trip was also in Costa Rica as I missed my flight going to the USA as my flight from Havana was delayed causing a domino effect. I was supposed to be in Costa Rica the night before but was stuck there once again. Had to get a flight the next day with US Air but there would be an overnight in Charlotte...great. Argued with Taca at their office with Jonesie but they felt that their $200 voucher was enough.

Stayed at the Sportsman's Lodge at their standard room downstairs near the bar and loved their rooms. Great wireless, tons of sports channels(had no idea what happened in the sports world for 5 days) and great aircon. Had lunch with Jonesie and then took about a 4 hour nap. The girls at the Sportsman that day were nothing to write home about and it was pouring rain all day. Went to several day places inluding Fantasy and others but the girls were just sad looking and not worth it.

Went out late at night to the Del Rey and it was even worse than my last trip. Did see one cute Paisa but she was occupied as I didnt approach her quick enough. I believe the Del Rey is now a place where the older hardcore hookers go to try to make one last ditch effort at a retirement account or to find an elderly PLM. Met with our buddy Charlie and was also less than impressed. Just decided to say "fuck it" and not take a girl home. There are guys on CRT that believe Costa Rica is still a great mongering destination but I think you have to live there to see when the ocassional hottie arrives or forget it. Granted, I dont have much experience in San Jose but I just think it is for amateurs that don't know any better. If you like Dominican or Colombian girls, just go to the source.

What I don't get is why an attractive, young hooker, looking to make some money, wouldn't camp out at the DelRey 24/7?

If -- as you and many others state -- the age/quality/looks of most of the San Jose hookers is below par, an above-average girl would stand out like a beacon. From what I read, a lot of DelRey girls are asking for (and getting) upwards of $80 short time... it seems like it would be a gold mine for a hottie.

CR is not as good as Tijuana, not even close. Cuba is much better than Tijuana, maybe the best Latin destination outside of Colombia.

IMO, she has a nice body, the pics of her face are not very flattering, but then again, that is a matter of opinion.
I used to love going to CR, of course , back when I lived in Florida it was fairly easy.
There is quality to be found there, mainly outside of the Del Rey.
One of the problems with the DR is that there are so many lazy, stupid gringos that don't want to move their asses out of the Blue Marlin Bar.

Blazers, after dozens of trips, what's left to report? We keep everyone updated in the chat and discuss sections, and other than Help closing the scene hasn't changed that much in at least the 7 years I've been going. This isn't TJA where, if one day, a particular alley puta decides to stand on the north side of the street instead of the south side, you get 200 posts from guys wondering what's going on. If you took the edition of Bwana's guide from 2003 and used it today, other than the prices being a lot higher and Help now gone, it would tell you all you need to know for a trip today.

I've had lots of "Captain Save a Ho's" show girls the pictures and stories I've posted on the various boards I frequent. Even had some of them give the girls my email. Funny things is many of the girls ask if I could email them more of the pics I took for their own use.

To date I've only had one disgruntled gal contact me. What she was upset about though was how she got "outed" by my photos and story. The guy she was playing for a monthly money supplement cut her off.

As I write this I am planning my first trip to Costa Rica. I know the best days of Costa Rica are past. At least that is what the dozens of veterans I've met over the last year are telling me. Yet I just want to go and see it as is. No expectations and no hopes of finding that "Special Tica or Paisa".

Blazer's Cuba trip report clearly shows a good selection of chicas was to be had there. Well at the least he chose a more attractive bunch. Still for many reasons (I posted them on his post) I have not returned to Cuba.

BTW- I take nothing away from Blazer's Dominican selection. I'm sure the other Dominican and Colombian and Nicaraguan girls were cute as well. However, where are the Tica's? This is Costa Rica after all.

In every country around the world I fucked native girls. The one hope I do have for my Costa Rica trip is to find at least 1 Tica that is doable.
