Having spent 25 nights in Pattaya, I was ready for a little rest and a visa renewal. Booked myself for 4 nights at the Impiana Hotel, Golden Triangle close to the Pavillion shopping center and Bukit Bintang.
Arrived on my Air Asia flight, which with reserved front row seats, food, and 20KG baggage allowance topped out at US $167 round trip from BKK.
Researched some options to get to the city from airport, there are 2 airports, KLIA and LCCT..translate the later to low cost carrier terminal, a large barn.... I chose Star Shuttle because it offers bus to city and limo to hotel. What a frickin mistake. First the driver was certifiable, we made a stop near the stadium to let off a family of 4, then another stop in the city. It was raining, approaching 5PM so traffic was a nightmare. Finally, we get to a small terminal and myself along with 2 couples from Perth get off. They summon a small minivan and squeeze us in , I was up front, those poor folk sat in opposing seats with the luggage hitting them in the head.
Traffic was relentless, barely moving. Finally I got to my hotel..19:00, 3 1/2 hours after landing.
Showered, grabbed an umbrella and headed out.
Nice food court in the lowest level of Pavillion.
Floor 1 to be exact, because floor 3 is ground??
Had 4 small plates of Kimchee, baby octopus, gyoza, and edamame. Walked by the famous Beach Club on the way back, but was too wet and tired.
Woke up to construction noise next morning, the new Grand Hyatt is being built directly accross the street. Good breakfast at hotel, some funky stuff. Headed over to Petronas Towers to line up for tickets. Was lucky since I am traveling alone, caught a single ticket for the next group.
Impressive views, done it, bye. Got in some pool time.
Even though this was not intended as a mongering trip, decided to go for one anyway. Walked over to the Nova Hotel Health Club. Basically just a brothel. I described my preferences to pappasan, he brought out Adi, from Jakarta and she fit the bill, RM 158 and we were gone , about $52.
Hotel room was basic, but a/c worked, shower was ok, and Adi was a doll.

Requested and received a room change. The area of the Nova has a lot of open air restaurants with tables set up literally on the street. Very local flavors , the kind of shit I like.

Next morning awoke to more construction noises.
Got online to find some new digs.
Found a great deal at the Ritz Carlton, weekend rates of US $129 night including a $50 credit for F & B....sounds good.
Arrived at the Ritz about 12:30, since I booked on their website only 2 hours earlier, they hadn't received the reservation. The front desk was apologetic and upgraded me to a 19th floor corner room. Damn...
I was just checking out the digs and the doorbell rang, my butler had come with arrival drinks and to assist me in unpacking.
Headed out, took monorail to Central market, then Petaling Street which is Chinatown with hawkers selling knock off crap like Patpong . Some good street food.
Beer is quite pricey here, I think it has something to do with Malaysia being a Muslim country, alcohol is heavily taxed. I saw a sixer of Corona in the store for like US $26.
I was paying $US3-4 in street stalls for local Carlsberg and Tiger.
Returned to my humble room , showered, donned my plush robe, and called my butler, Donald, for a coffee, which arrived in about 4 minutes along with a few small cookies.
On the prowl once again, I went to Alpha Genesis Hotel Health Club, here I received 2 line ups of girls. Most 6-7, no real barkers, but no real stunners either. I chose a nice young Chinese, she was rm200, about US60. A very talented sex machine , after shower I saw she took what appeared to be a syringe without the needle out of a pouch, I questioned, she replied " KY "never saw that before. A satisfying, albeit somewhat rushed experience, not into post climax chit chat like the other girl was.

Next morning hit breakfast, OMG, first coffe, juice, smoothie... then offered a choice of International entrees to compliment the buffet.
I chose Eurpean which had gravlax, herring, olives and some odd potatoe-like casserole.
The buffet had fresh and dried fruit, dim sum, various cheeses, meats, nuts, vegetables, salads
Good stuff and the service was just perfect.

Got in some more pool time, kind of funny watching the young Muslim girls swimming in their foot to head body coverings, look like wet suits with hoods.
Decided to take it easy on my last night, walked around a bit, checked out the food court at Lot 10, another large shopping area, this food court is unique because it features more authentic and non-Halal foods, ie pork. Big pig knuckles and other pig parts, cheap too, many dishes $2-3.
Back to room and blew my $50 credit on room service, very easy to do, had an appetizer and a dessert.
The app was satay, 2 each of shrimp, corn fedchicken, lamb , and wagyu beef, 2 really nice sauces a tradtional peanut and a tomato-sambal.
For dessert I chose the Fuji apple strudel with cinnamin ice cream, had a few small stem strawberries, some macerated berries and a baby persimmon with the flower blossum still on it.
Arranged for a taxi to the airport, had a choice of a shiny blue Kia for $50 or a basic taxi for $30. Then again could have gotten the Mercedes Benz, but was afraid to ask the price. There is a line of cars called Proton that are assmebled in Malaysia, most taxis are this variety, reming me old Nissan Sentras circa 1995.
The LCCC airport basically sucks, if I return I would pay extra and fly into KLIA.
I would definately stay at the Ritz again if I could get that same rate.
Overall, KL is a big city, lots to see , fairly expensive, I enjoyed it, but was glad to return to Thailand.
