Just spend five nights, second week of June 2010, in Angeles City. My last visit was in January 2010. Below are changes I saw and observations I made.
CHANGES since January 2010.
-- SUBDELICIOUS restaurant/sports bar was closed and re-construction was in process. A sign in front announced, coming soon PHILLIES sports grill. See www.philliessportsgrill.com .
-- THE COURTYARD, located on MacArthur Highway and across a side street from Johnnie's Supermarket, was opened in the evening. Two floors of mostly restaurants, a KTV, a bandstand at the rear of the ground floor, etc.
-- BLUEBERRY HILL was closed and the building was undergoing re-construction.
-- JUMPIN JACK FLASH is the new name of CASA CIELO. Price of 700 pesos for short-time services remained the same.
-- SHARK is a new club, in the location of the former ANGELS and its sucessor (Paradise?). The interior was re-modeled and furnished sparsely, with more seating than in the old club.
-- VALHALLA has new construction underway next to and/or a part of its club.
-- FORBIDDEN CITY is a new club, in a new building, located between Typhoon and Champagne. The interior reminded me of a smaller Club Atlantis.
-- GOLDEN NILE has a new dance troupe of about 11 girls, called DADDY'S GIRLS, which replaced the prior dance troupe, Bad Influence. Show times are Tuesday-Sunday, 9 pm, 10:30 pm, 12 midnight, 1:30 am, and 2:30 am. Shows were about 20 minutes long. Both dance troupes had the best dancers on Fields Avenue.
-- CLUB ASIA has added KTV rooms, in addition to its two stages on the ground floor and Emperor Lounge stage on its second floor. Also, it advertised a future Dragons Den, which could be in the space of the former Blue Nile Executive club.
-- FIELDS PLAZA COMPLEX had only one of its four clubs and restaurant opened, namely, LOVE AND MUSIC.
-- HONKYTONK bar has apparently expanded into the space of the former UNDERGROUND club.
CLARK AIRPORT.
... A newspaper article, June 10, 2010, announced that two top Filipino corporations announced an agreement to develop Clark Airport in a 50-50 arrangement. It explained that the two corporations traditionally competed against each other, which drove up their costs and slowed development. One corporation's name included the name San Miguel, and the other corporation's name was not recognizable to me. The article explained that the Clark airport was intended to replace [really?] the Manila airport, where further development has been very difficult.
... If Clark airport replaces the Manila airport, imagine what will happen to Angeles City.
PUZZLES Restaurant's Mexican Food.
... I ordered and ate lunch at Puzzles restaurant's enchilada plate, which consisted of two chicken enchiladas, refried beans, and rice. Cost was 205 pesos. Although the portions of beans and rice were small and enchiladas were of moderate size, my stomach felt stuffed.
... My question is: why was Puzzles' Mexican food more filling than a bigger Mexican plate that I have eaten in restaurants in Texas? More lard?
WOW Wednesday WAS a WASTE, After 2.5 Hours.
... I attended WOW event on Wednesday, June 9, 2010, scheduled to begin at 6 pm at Dirty Duck. I got there a little early in order to get a seat. An announcement at 6 pm was made that local beer and local drinks were priced at 50 pesos and lady drinks at 100 pesos, and a raffle ticket would be given for each beer and drink purchase, but two raffle tickets for a lady drink. This weekly event is usually held for two hours each Wednesday at a different club.
... By 6:15 pm, there were no empty seats. Some customers entering later sat outside in front of the club.
... At a little after 6:30 pm, a small paper plate holding three food snacks were handed out by the waitresses to each customer. Not bad appertizers.
... A continuous stream of groups of girls danced on stage. These groups came from various clubs. There were no real difference between the groups and it was difficult to get the attention of a specific girl as they entered the club, got on stage, and exited the club.
... About 7:30 pm, I ordered another local drink. A waitress brought the drink to me and said that there were no more raffle tickets. One of my raffle tickets was numbered 459.
... At 7:55 pm, a raffle began for 70 prizes. An announcement was made that half the prizes would be given in the first raffle and the other half in the second raffle scheduled for 8:50 pm. The second raffle would have a grand prize of six items, consisting of a free drink or lady drink or body shot at different clubs and a bar fine. The first raffle did include a prize of half a bar fine for one winner.
... I did not win anything. After the first raffle ended about 8:20 pm, I gave my raffle tickets to a Filipino guy sitting nearby. He had ordered a bottle of water, drank a third of the water, and had no raffle tickets. I hope he won the grand prize.
... In retrospect, I should have left about 6:45 pm, after drinking a couple of cheap drinks, eating a snack, and saying hello to some old bar-mates. The dancing was un-interesting, the opportunity to meet a beautiful girl in the crowded club was limited, raffle tickets ran out after about 500 tickets after 1.5 hours, and the only worthwhile raffle prize (in my opinion) is the bar fine, which is relatively few. For someone like me scheduled for only several nights in Angeles, my time is limited and my time at the WOW event should have been no more than an hour.

Above photos were taken at Club Atlantis.
First photo were of all the girls on stage, leaving out the girls standing overhead on a balcony.
Second photo were of the body-painted ladies and princesses. Their bar fines are the highest in Angeles City, namely, 3000 pesos.
Below are photos of the club Forbidden City, exterior and inside.

Below is a photo of one of the acts in the Sunday show at Tropix. One customer rubbed his face in the whipped cream of each girl, until his face and hair were completedly covered in whipped cream.
Below is a photo of a poster advertising Daddy's Girls.

GG. Thanks for the updates.
Personally, I am not buying for one minute DMIA replacing NAIA as the main airport for Philippines.
It makes no sense, especially for the business traveler. The logistics to get from DMIA to Makati don't work well.
Pop into DMIA and then get on a bus or taxi or private car for two or more hours. Multiply this by 40 million passengers per year? They want to develop DMIA to handle something like 85+ million passengers per year.
And especially given traffic, the journey to Makati can easily take 2+ hours or MORE. Business travelers won't do it. But who knows. It is the Philippines after all.
This was a pet project of GMA and her home province of Pampanga. Now that she is gone, will be interesting to see if DMIA really replaces NAIA. They have the runway space at DMIA and they don't at NAIA. But it still too damn far from the city center and they can't change that.

Thanks for the report GG. Looks like lots of changes since my trip last Sept. I guess another trip is definitely called for.
BTW, the 3000p showgirls at Atlantis are no longer "the highest in Angeles City". Dadies girls at Golden Nile are now commanding 4000p according to the reports that I have heard.

Hey Greengrasser
Sorry I missed you . I was there at same time you were.
Already some changes to above. There are now two clubs open in Field's Plaza. Golden Garterhas opened in what was the Car Wash. Now operated by owner of Eruptions. Redecorated interior of bar is fantastic. Lineup of girls woeful !! All overweight over the hill MILFs . Manager promised new girls were coming.
There are 20 Daddy Girl dancers in Golden Nile. They have some really hot girls. Got to know 5 of them biblically. One of whom Xen is well acquainted with - ummmm maybe not so well. Given the 4,000 peso barfine - Monday is the best day to get to know them - their day off.
Candy Bar and Bare Assets have exchanged buildings - go figure since they wee right next door to each other.
Willie Pig's restaurant is now a go go bar/restaurant . Half of which is the first non smoking go go bar in AC !! Line up matches name.

Of course, when the high-speed rail system that links DMIA to Manila is completed it will cut down all that travel time between the "new" international airport and the business centers of Manila. I expect that rail line to be operational soon after my death in the year 2050 by which time we will all be using our personal jet packs.

Hungry1 and Khun_mor,
Thanks for the correction on the 4,000 peso barfine at Golden Nile. I learned and I did not learn it the hard way.
Two comments on Golden Nile dancers. In Jan 2010, one GN mama-san told me that the Bad Influence dancers (the prior dance group) could not be barfined, but she named a price for the barfine of other girls, which two other mama-sans a few nights later said that the barfine was not that high. Who to believe?
Also, in Jan 2010, I met an old dude, about 75 years old, who told me that he owned the land that GN sat on and the owner could not meet his monthly payment for use of the land. I guess the GN owner is trying to gain more money with higher barfine.
Khun_mor, were you the dude sitting in Champagne eating marshmallow pieces purchased from a peanut vendor during happy hour? I am the dude who asked, what were those white slivers?

No was not in Champagne alone at any time this trip. Only on barhops with several girls. Spent a majority of my time either on Perimeter or Golden Nile/ Dirty Duck.
The Bad Influence dancers could not be barfined. This group - a few of which are hold overs can be but pricey at 4K. Monday is their day off - great bargain -- FREE !!!

Just back from 22 days in AC myself - yeah The Courtyard has potential! Saw a few live bands here - as well as ate at the Shish Kebob place. Nice set-up except it is an open complex with no air-con. Very clean for that part of town. Nice big screen for the bands.
Fields Complex Bar is also a nice up-scale version of Kokomos in my opinion - you get to sit outside and watch the World Cup or the ladies walking down fields - nice big ass chairs!

Wow, 22 days? didn't you get a little bored after awhile? I was there for a week and it was more then enough....Don't get me wrong, I'll be back - hopefully often - but for short stretches.

Yes. I will write up a short report - got very bored. Also my attitude suffered; I was handing the beggers promo coupons for ladies drinks after day 16. More later...
