The guy who's appt. I rented in Nice, after paying the deposit, calls me from London. He double-booked on the last day. I was to stay until Sunday - but he had a family of 4 arriving on the Saturday. It was either cancel, or he would find me a hotel for the last night. I thought about it, and overnight realized that Monaco was just 7 mi. down the road. Booked a hotel there myself.
Two (2) weeks later the airline calls me. My flight back home on the Sunday was cancelled. It was either come back a day early, or a day later. A no-brainer!
Up @ 06:15 and essentially packed at ready by 8:25
The driver who I rented called from downstairs, as did the maid. We left before 10. A v. smooth drive east along a pretty damn' stunning coastal road. Arrived at the Port Palace Hotel at 11:03. Paid him the 75 E. and arranged for him to come back at pick me up Monday @ 06:30.
Room not ready so after checking-in; went out to snap a few. Decided to have an early lunch of another Nicoise salad and a lg. beer. Had a 2nd; and paid the 23.90. Relaxed in the hotel library until the room was ready. It was mighty fine. Unpacked and fucked-off for a 4 hour stroll. East to the beaches; and then up (by elevator) to the Casino. Yes fellow hombres; there are multiple public elevators so you don't have to kill yourself climbing stairs, in this fine Principality of Monaco.
Took the short harbour cruise for 1 Euro more.
Finally a v. fine pizza pie ala Capricciosa and a 1/2 bottle of Pontiac Rose for 25.90 at "Au Royalty". Got back after 5 p.m. and picked-up some more text messages from Nicol.
