In the dog days of summer in the desert southwest, as you all know it gets hot. Really Hot. After awhile I do believe the sun starts to fry your brain. People just start to get weird, and I see it here everyday. I haven't been out of the Valley of the Sun (PHX) in about 5 months and I was very concerned that I was one of them. It was at this point I realized it was time for me to make my getaway.

A couple of days off from work, some extra money in my pocket and dreams of mongering let me decision become easy... Rocky Point, MX.

I had never been to Puerto Penasco but people go down there from PHX all the time. So much in fact I was really shocked there was not quite a bit more info on the mongering scene here on Hombre.
So, in the molds of my heros, (Anthony Bourdain, Dr. Jaggerbowski, and Radioman) I set out to have a vacation with good food, kindness, and an attempt to get an understanding of how Rocky Point works. Of course that all came with the main point of me being there... to put my penis inside of women as a trade for me giving them money.

I did have a great time, and I got laid alot for cheap but I did learn quite a bit as well.

Above is a map of Rocky Point. Getting down there is really really easy. You drive on AZ85 from PHX and then after you go through Lukeville, AZ you cross the border and the road becomes Mexico hwy 8. It is now a straight drive for about an hour till Rocky Point.

I had never been down there and did not want to drive my car, as I heard from the media up here that Rocky Point like everywhere else in Northern Mexico was dangerous right now. I found that to be for the most part (with exception) untrue and next time I will rent a car.. This time however I took a shuttle van from PHX. THey were called Nena and they really spoke porquito ingles... But it was $45 and so I figured that was the best, cheapest way to go for someone who was just jumping in. Would I do it again.. Probably Not.. but they were not bad.

There are many places to stay and I stayed for $60 a night at Playa Inn which is in the Mirador Area about 2 blocks from the beach. It is a bit of a walk, and next time I will stay at the Mirador which is a new hotel on the beach which is on the Mirador strip. It also has a pool and is only $60 a night also.

We are awaiting the action.

We want you to beat Dr J in your reports. I know it will be hard, but we are all pulling (don't ask how) for you.

Next time I will stay at the Mirador and here are all the places right next to it... in the Mirador Corridor (Matamoros Rd on Rocky Point Map)

The pics above and these below are all from the Mirador Corridor. If you are going to stay close to town where you can find women in the bars pictured (within easy walking distance)and you can be somwhere close to the redlight district (Calle 13) this is not a bad choice.

Here is where I stayed. The Playa Inn. It is right next to Al Capones Pizza which showed Red Sox games and had good pizza and great clams! Playa was ok, and Capones was great. The owner is an expat and really cool.

Any pictures of some other types of great clams?

Because of the walk and better options I probably wouldn't stay at Playa again..

Ok.. So here is what you want to hear about.

Mongering. Now you guys always say fuck the touts and taxis and while I was able to stay away from touts I was suckered in by Taxi drivers and I totally will keep it in my mind for what not to do in the future.

On Fri night after dinner I got in a cab and went to Calle 13 which is the red light of Rocky Point. There are street walkers, mr. happy massage, venus spa, and of course strip clubs like the Gau Gau.

As I was about to get out the taxi asked me if I wanted to go to a casa. I was intrigued and thought I would not find it without him, (i probably would of) so i said sure. He took me to a complex right across the street from Venus Spa. In the complex were nice young fine poon.

He introduced me to a nice lady and here is where I used my Hombre skills to my advantage. I hope you will all be proud:

Chica: Hola, what you want?

ME:Everything on the menu

Chica: Ok, $100

Me: No $60

Chica: Ok, $60

I used $60 for the rest of my trip and it worked everytime and one person told me since it is off season I could have talked them down to $40.

Now.. I still have a lot to learn as she made me give the taxi guy $10 for a finders comission. I did.

Sex was good. Did anything I want. I did not get these girls permission to put up pics so I have blackened out faces... Plus they all gave the same story of having kids and shit. Not sure what and what not is true, but I figure it is better to respect them.

So after I walked out I walked down the street and saw girls standing around the house.

I had taken a vitamin C which I probably do not need but it is quite fun. I didn't come the first time around and didnt feel like adding another hour to the first girl.

So I washed, rinsed, and repeated, by banging 2 other chicas each for $60 dollars a pop. I came on the third one. All these houses are right around the venus spa down the street from Gau Gau. The other 2 girls would not let me take pics.. I respected that.

The first girl told me she would come to the beach with me the next day but that she wanted to bring her kids. Very nice chica.. but Im on vacation..

On Saturday I slept most of the day as it was super cloudy and I had a bit of a cold.

On Saturday night I went down to Old Port and had some shark tacos at shark bites. Old Port is a little strip right on the water that has a bunch of seafood restaurants and of course tourist traps selling things like cuban cigars, hats, shirts, and other stuff on the DL if that is your thing..

Later that night I went to a bar back in the Mirador Corridor and met a girl who was up from central mex visiting her relatives. Of course she claimed to have a job and was just looking for fun, but before long she was asking me for $100. I again countered with $60 which she agreed to but she wanted to go to her "friends" and not my hotel. I was very weary of this and felt like I could be in danger.. but I went anyway.

Pussy can really hypnotize. I should have walked away.. but I was horny.

To get to her "friends", a taxi had taken us to her "casa" and it was in the middle of a rez area and i was off the beaten path. Cabs are $20 pesos in RP and the cabby for the drive wanted $20 dollars! Now I can handle my business but this was a fight i was not willing to die for. SO I gave him $15 and told him to come back in 1 hour and I would give him another $15 to get me back. Not so smart but I had no idea where I was and I did not want to be an AZ news story.

To make matters worse the girl kept asking for the money up front and when we finally got in the door wanted a "Propina"! I told her no way. We had agreed and that was it and she said ok. I then put the money on the dresser as we were getting undressed. She then told me it would be $20 extra for a BJ as she was not normally a girl to do stuff like this. I made her laugh and played dumb. We banged for awhile and I came but it was unfufilling. Maybe she doesn't normally get involved with the game but she was now.

As the cab came back she wanted to come back with me and go back out. I told her I had to go to sleep. She gave me her number, and I just had to wonder what gets into these girls heads. Very nice woman but you can't give mediocre serivce and expect more. I don't let girls get away with that in the states. Not doing it here either.

Looking back this one was just dumb. When she didn't want to go back to my hotel I should have relized that something was wrong. Maybe she was just really nervous I don't know but it was a learning experience for what I should never do again..

So I come back to Old Port and find my way over to another bar and the owner and his staff are hainging out getting drunk. THere is also an expat there drinking as well. He is a bit annoying.

At the bar are 2 girls dressed really nice. Young too. early 20's late teens maybe. One is about a ten. SLinky one strap dress and beautiful dark hair. Really beautiful face. Neither speaks any English. They are looking at me laughing. The one was really amazing.

The expat was annoying me seriously telling me to go talk to these 2. Almost grabbing my arm. After I had already experienced I was weary and I just wanted to enjoy my time, so I told him to leave me alone after awhile. The 2 girls walked away for a few and the owner told me they were with mexican mafia types who would kill me if I was to get too close. Whether true or not that was more than enough for me to keep my distance.

When they came back they both start talking to me and the owner translates saying they want me to stay and dance and talk and drink. I say I have to leave and the owner agrees but the girl tells me to stay and calls me a coward in spanish. All this was too much but I was perfectly ok with walking away and leaving. I would much rather go away and play another day.

I went down the street and hung out at the taco stand near blue zebra. The expat outside and his girl who ran the stand were really friendly and cool. I talked politics and culture and did the Bourdain thing within them for a few hours.

Now I really never felt unsafe and there are cops everywhere in Penasco, but again.. I was not there for any kind of trouble and was more than willing just to go the other way if trouble was near.

There was one other girl I met later outside that i think was a student. Beautiful and would not let me take pics. She did let me go back to her hotel with her. She claimed to be a student and looked like it.. clearly the best looking of my trip. Ok sex. Her looks made it great.

All in all I think the place was really fun. I dont drink so I never lost control, but I don't think I would care to be the "ugly american" down here even if there are a ton of expats.

Will I go back.. Oh yeah.

Many versions of Microsoft Paint will resize pictures without that awful watermark. Club Hombre also provides a free resizer utility.

Rocky Point is easy to access from my home base of Tucson, but I still have not gotten down there. Gotta do it someday soon. You are lucky to have shuttle option from Phoenix. I have not seen same from Tucson, although you can get bus from Nogales Sonora to Puerto Penasco. Another option is drive to Lukeville, leave car north of border, and take shuttle last 60 miles.

Personally, I want to take my beach cruiser bicycle, so will probably drive.

I don't know why you're using this avs4you software, but as Hot4ass2 says, you can do better. Download FastStone Image Viewer. You can do damn near everything you want to your pictures -- including managing the images on your hard drive.

Sounds like the Tijuana streetgirls...$20 for BJ, $X for top, $ for bottom, + $X for doggie, oh forgot X is extra too :-)

but i guess, from a proximity and cost perspective, hard to beat...If i lived in southern CA or - maybe - in southern AZ - would make these types of trips as well. Or maybe, on second thought, it is better to save up and travel a little (or alot) further....

I am going to Cabo in October so I will definitely have a better handle on things a be a bit better prepared... and certainly get rid of the watermarks!

You should have used pesos for everything, even though it sounds like a tourist trap. If the girl and the bars quote everything in US dollars, it is always a place to avoid...even in TJ.
