Part of the problem in characterizing Brazil I suppose is the easiest and most user (but not wallet) friendly way to get laid there for a newbie these days is to go to a top-tier termas. He phrased it, as I remember it, as a lack of a cost/performance correlation, although to an extent Brasil also shows a relative lack of a cost/looks correlation (ironically, this is in sharp contrast to its neighbor Argentina where it is clear IMHO the more you pay (on average) the better the girl will look). Actually though, if you are going to 10 real or 20 real places, it will take longer to find a looker, but if you are a hunter, you probably eventually will find what you want. At the 100 real apartments in Rio or Sao Paulo, it is probably easier. But I honestly don't believe you get much of an advantage (girl-wise) moving from a 100 real apartment (particularly if you are willing to visit a few to find what you are looking for) to a termas, except for the atmospherics and ability to lounge around in an environment that is particularly amenable to fun, and also hanging out with friends.

I have been spending more of my time in Asia recently (although some of it is business) so I'm not a Brazil guy trying to pimp Brazil (you'll also note I haven't posted any Asia pictures, but I doubt the Asia guys here will take that as an indication that Asian girls, or, at least, the ones I have been with are generally ugly). In fact, Brazil is more expensive than Asia (no big surprise there) and as time goes forward this difference may increase. But on the other hand, let's not exaggerate the difference, or pretend that unless you go to a top-tier termas, you are SOL in Brazil.

mainstream termas (4x4, Monte Carlo, Solarium) are 310 reis for entry fee and a session these days unless you catch a special, which isnt hard - so that is pretty close to $200, but it was much cheaper fairly recently - prices are getting out of control

overnights can be had for less $100, i typically pay 200-250 reis depending on what mood i am

Karlas is well known and 120 reis for 2 hours for hot chicks & places in centro have quality chicks for 70-100

Getting this thread (quasi) back on track - let's face it, TJ is bottom of the barrel mongering for most experienced guys.

Sure you can have a good time, but you've got to troll for it. If you've got the time or live locally, you can have a decent time. There is none of the relatively easy, decent quality point-and-click mongering that can be found in Asia or Brazil. (The key words there are easy and quality.)

Unless you're a newbie and need a relatively safe location (I know calling TJ "safe" is a long shot), would you really recommend anyone going there except for a change of scenery?

El Apodo, I'm sure Rio IS a superior mongering destination for the average punter, but at what price/vacation time premium?

I still think experienced mongers that can't have a good time for 100 bucks in TJ need to try a little harder.

The difference to me would be than in Brazil, Colombia, Peru, and most of Asia, the 'default' whore mode is to provide at least good service. I haven't spent allot of time in Brazil but in 4 trips, some sessions were better than others but I am hard pressed to recall one single really bad session. That includes ALLOT of 20 Real ($12) Villa Mimosa sessions. Even on the low end they enthusiastically provide at least a basic minimal level of service.

In TJ, 'default' whore mode is to provide the lowest level of service they can get away with. Yes, I know guys like Blazers et al who get consistently good service in TJ. They all speak Spanish, have good social skils and put a certain amount of effort into their whore mongering endeavor. If you can talk to the TJ whores, you can talk them into or cajole them into providing good service but it is not their default behavior. I consistently get shitty service. I'm sure if I learned Spanish I could get better service but the more shitty service I get the less I am interested in learning Spanish and the more interested I am in just turning my back on the shit-hole. I personally am just to fucking lazy to mess with it. OTOH I would LOVE to be able to speak Indonesian, Thai, or Portuguese. When I can't understand a god damned thing but STILL get consistently over the top awesome service I can only imagine it would go up from there if I learned the language. As for the TJ whores, I have a really hard time motivating myself to pay any attention to them at all. I'm the guy with the money. They should be working hard to attract me. Not me working hard to attract them.

Ummmm, no, they don't "usually" cost $200. You can pay that, but as the poster also noted, all these places offer discount coupons, frequent fucker programs, early bird specials and other promotions that drop the price substantially. I pay about $130 at 4X4, one of the better, and certainly the largest, termas in Rio. And as Laguy noted (citing GCL), the girls at the R$80 ($45) places are often just as hot and certainly fuck just as well.

But that doesn't alter the fact that guys can have great fun anywhere. If you know a place well, you'll eventually find the good stuff, as Blazers has done in TJ. I didn't have such luck. But I would argue that it's much harder to have a bad time in Rio than in TJ, unless parting with more money ruins your day ;-)

I feel obligated to stick my nose into a TJ thread initiated by the great BD, but I really can't bear to repeat what I have written in detail so many times about TJ over so many years.

So I'll just report that I just returned from a 4 day trip - that's right, bombing runs DON'T generally produce great or even acceptable results for discriminating mongers in TJ and who has ever taken a bombing run to Rio or Thailand or AC?

On my trip I had 2 24 hour dates with well cultivated long time amigas and the passion, intensity and level of service is limited only by my own limitations. The cost was absurdly low in relation to the quality. I'm quite certain that many of you have had as good a time with a girl in their mongering lives as I had with each of mine over this long weekend, but I guarantee equally that nobody has ever had a better time.

The one day I had to be a free agent as one would on a bombing run, I struck out. That would have been Sunday night - I found HK that night devoid of any depth of talent, though I took a chica to the hotel who I short termed with a couple of times before her recent one year hiatus. Though I find her extremely cute, I can not break through her service limitations in short term - I might have better luck if I can get her away from the zona. I found AB filled with great talent, but knew in my heart that 90% of the hotties would let me down. I chatted with one pretty FOB with a mediocre body and knew she'd kick it into the net upstairs, but I was way too richly well sexed at this point to give a damn about going up for a short term session with a chica who doesn't send my blood rushing southward on first sight. LC was also very devoid of talent.

On the other hand my last trip was 2 months ago and took the same contour - overnight dates with special amigas outside the zona hit the bell over and over, but my free mongering on that trip did as well as HK and LC were packed with hotties and I took a college student nympho beauty on summer vacation making money at LC back to my hotel where she overwhelmed me with her intensity.

So for me, cultivated regulars are the route to unlimited ecstasy, and free mongering bombing run style is a crapshoot. That's TJ!

But I will note I never met anyone who had a bad time in Rio. I have met many, including myself, who thought TJ stunk - both literally and figuratively. What is that smell?

When I go to TJ every now and then, I expect low service regardless. So I usually go the straight boom boom route with the countless street girls. Some cuties mixed in, but while pricing is low, almost every little thing is extra...I really do not care, she can bend over with her top on and 10 minutes later I am done. Otherwise it is $X for the top, $X for touching, $X for this position, $X extra for that....and did I forget to mention $X for that other thing I want :-) straight doggie gets me set for the night - cheaply - then I can divert my attention to getting drunk and just hanging out in the bars to finish up the night. Good thing I am a drinker....

My way of coping with TJ girl attitudes...works for me. Occassionally, also, can find a nice slut on the street that gives a great BBBJ...

Since my expecations are low, I don't get dissappointed!

Still beats just hanging out in San Diego while on a business trip anytime....so, that is my positive spin on it. Like I said in one of my previous posts, I would probably be in TJ quite a bit if I lived in San Diego.

Fellas, let's be nice. No one will say that TJ is the best, but it is the closest. I've been lucky enough to make a trip to BKK and Pattaya, as well as Rio a couple of times. Those experiences were great.

But, I just posted a report from my weekend in TJ, and I had a great time. Day one was a bust, but day two was better and three was really nice (but no better than my worst day in BKK).

I was with 10 girls in three nights for $600, ranging from bad two good (both in performance and in looks - and those two variables have zero correlation).

Take TJ for what it is. Don't put it on a pedastal and don't knock it for being something it is not.

I think the discussion has been, for the most part, respectful. Mongers have strong opinions about their likes and dislikes, and those have been expressed, often forcefully. But there hasn't been much name-calling and such, so in my estimation the fellas have been playing nice. When you get a thread where differing views of a place like TJ are being expressed and people are not referring to one another as "fuckheads" and "dickwads," I figure the conversation has been downright civil.

FWIW, I usually find the Tecate beer bottle the most attractive option to put my lips to in TJ.
