The title for this trip report was inspired by the man whom wrote a recent mongers guide to France that showed lots of beautiful scenery, incredible food and marginal over priced pussy. No offense intended.

Nogales has really gone to hell. Three strip clubs (Obsessions, Bolerios, Studio 69) and two massage parlors (Eros Spa, Osiris) are all that remain of what used to be a very fun destination and the prices are just plain silly.

It has gotten to the point where the only really good reason to cross the border is LaRoca Restaurant on the back street behind Bolerios. It is still considered to be the best food in town.

The menu is painted on a black board and all the prices are in US dollars. Prices are painted in red ink that is rather difficult to read in subdued lighting although camera captured it well. I will try to get better picture next time.

la roca menu

My Azteca Soup, Chile Rellenos, Cheesecake and margarita were delicious, but my stomach paid for it big time during the hours that followed. Too much fat in one meal and the rellano batter seemed to expand upon subsequent contact with beer. I was bloated, but no problem with the trots so far. Oops, forgot about Jags protocol to take pictures before first bite.

chile rellanos

La Roca is built against the cliff and the back section is actually carved into the cliff with candle suit on the rocks.

La Roca Cliff Side

The other side is windows (faces covered to protect the drug lords).

La Roca Windows

No Jag style trip report would be complete without some nice scenic pictures. Nogales is a gated city to protect the neighboring nation against immigrants that do not seem to have any problem finding other ways across the border.

Gated City

The streets are kept in good repair by a magic dragon that spits rock covered by asphalt. I did not see what kind of steam roller they use to finish the job, but the workers sure seemed happy to look at the camera while I took this shot.

Rock Spitting Dragon

Here is the view up pleasure street from the elevated walk that takes you over the train tracks. La Roca is beside that green hotel.

For many Mexican, they see this shithole to the North as a the land of opportunity. About 20 percent of the endemic population of their Northern neighbor knows better.

oops, here is the pleasure street photo that was missed in the above report

pleasure street

This Nogales afternoon was really about visiting customs to get some travel documents for my September trip to Philippines. That was finished by noon, so I had a few daylight hours to kill in Mexico. Very few gringos down there these days. The areas that used to be bustling with street vendors are not the same since passports and drug gang violence has scared everybody away.

Pleasure Street

Final try on photo upload. I hope Hombre can move it up two posts to the place holder.

Why is Hot4ass2 posting Jaggerbowski's trip report? La Roca is good, spent a New Year's Eve there a long time ago. There are other good places to eat also. where on earth did you take that last photo from? A bucket truck? You're towards the border right? Is that Cherry's at the far end?

Love it Hot4ass2! The idea of a Jag style photo report of the scenic and culinary delights of Nogales is the smile of the year on CH. The irony though is that Jag would find quite a few chicas to his personal taste, and La Roca is a genuinely unique and satisfying restaurant. They also have entertainment and dancing on weekends - all high class and all dug into a rock wall in the midst of a faded red light district. Whether or not you monger, if you ever hit Tucson for any reason, it is worth the hour drive south to Nogie, Sonora to experience La Roca on a Saturday night.

My last pass through Nogie was a couple of years ago and there were still some sensational hot chicas working at Studio 69 and Bolerios and I thought a new version of the old Placers, but I really struck semi-pro FOB gold in another bar - can't remember the damn name, but is sadly excluded from your "hanging in there" list. Surely the awesome El Tecolote is still open for business?

I can't wait for "Jaggerbowski does San Luis Rio Colorado".

Bluelight, This was NOT JAGGERBOWSKI's report. The very first sentence was a disclaimer. This was a PARODY of his recent European report full of tourist photos and epicurean delights, not to forget a small number of unattractive service providers that were way over priced.

The great meal at La Roca and Nogales strip club puta (over priced in regards to quality and duration of service) were the links that brought Jags adventure to mind.

The last picture was from a recently built pedestrian bridge that crosses above the railroad tracks near Hotel Elias. Remnants of the long defunct Cherries can be seen at the end of the street.

Erip, you were probably refering to the second generation LORD BLACK that took over the space formerly occupied by Placers. It's demise was coincident with the massive sewer line blowout a few feet from the front door. I suspect you struck gold in LUST bar whose demise came from a burglary covered in seperate thread.

I'm sure you're right about it being LB v 2.0 in the old Placer's space. Incredibly hot women in there that night, but very few customers. Over two weekend nights of carousing in Nogie, I spotted almost no other gringos except for a couple at the new LB. The superhotties at LB took turns trying to seduce me but I was not going to allow myself to go weak for a typical overpriced Nogie session in some broom closet. I did break down and for old times sake, agreed to a couple of privados. I thought the isolation of the privado area would compensate for the lack of a curtain, but that didn't happen. A couple of absolutely lame lap dances even though we were the only couple in the area.

The club I scored in was not Lust - I did take notice of that place. This was at the far south end of the strip - a two story joint well stocked with down to earth morenitas (my preference in mexicanas) as compared to the other bars that featured glam chicas with more hard core pro attitudes. If I wasn't so busy [lazy], I could just dig up the TR I wrote about that very interesting trip 2 years ago and recall the name of the club.

I ended up scoring an outdate for the following night with a chica I had met in that bar - meeting the chica downtown for dinner, and she took me to her house and for several hours, delivered much more than I paid for. I feel guilty to this day that I didn't pay her more though it was she who suggested the price.

I think the next time I'm in the area I would like to check out the Hermosillo scene a few hours drive south of Nogie. Lots of info here about Hermosillo - particularly escorts/brothels courtesy of Brewmeisterbro if you haven't checked it out and have access to Sonora.

I get it now. Erip, the only 2 story club I remember was Lipsticks but it wasn't on the south end. There was a place on the second floor on the south end, I don't remember the name of it. I do remember baby worked there as a waitress until she turned 18. The rest is history.

By Hot4ass2 on Tuesday, August 31, 2010 - 11:45 pm:  Edit

The two story club was FIESTA / VIP. The strip club was downstairs and one guy with a guitar was playing upstairs.

That upstairs bar paid their la mordita to stay open after hours and a lot of the girls from other clubs would show up at 3 AM at discount rates.

The touts told me that it got shut down because too many underage girls were upstairs. Take that for what a touts word is worth.

El Tecolote is shut down. Roberto reported that the roof collapsed, probably due to a storm. I cannot even remember the exact location, but used to stop there once in a while.

BABY worked at the infamous FERMIS. That was a upstairs club, but it bit the dust a long long time ago. I never quite figured out what the deal was with the white shirt hostesses there.

Does anybody here remember La Caverna?. It was a bar/restaurant that was built inside a cave right above where La Roca is. I think it closes in the early 80's after a fire broke out after hours, pretty much demolishing the inside. The owners wanted to reopen but were refused as their was not a secondary exit that would satisfy the Fire Department.

I had the honor of going to the bar in the 70's. There were lots of pictures of Hollywood stars on the wall as it was a favorite watering hole when movie westerns were made at the Old Tucson Studio and at various locations around SE Arizona.

Supposedly it was one of John Wayne's favorite watering holes and the owner always kept a bottle of his favorite tequila on hand at all times.

This was, of course, pre-lipstick and pre-anything on that street. One old timer told me that Cherrys was open at that time and had dancers as far back as the 70's. I wonder if the Duke snuck over there for a VIP?

Fiesta/VIP is right - found that place to have an interesting mix of talent including my semi-pro sweetheart. Surprised to hear it was shut down for underagers - that I did not see.

Fernis was actually my favorite club when I visited Nogales a few times about 10 years ago, even though the place didn't seem to be favored by the AZ regulars who posted frequently about Nogie. When I was there the place had the craziest outlaw kind of vibe compared to the other clubs, there were plenty of hot chicas with rowdy attitudes including Baby - yeah, I remember her but never did more than chat with her a couple of times. With the exception of one young beautiful nasty superhottie who went on to become a superstar at the original Lord Black when it first opened, I was fixated on the Ferni's meseras. It was fantasy fulfillment when I realized that the meseras were game, and they were hot and crazy in those extra large well lighted privado booths.

Orgngrndr, La Caverna was way before my time knowing my way around Nogales. If memory serves, they may have preserved a sign or billboard high up on the rock that was there as recently as my last visit 2 years ago?

Too bad about El Tecolote. What a dump it was, but at least I felt I was in Mexico when I'd have a few beers, fend off ugly putas, and watch a variedad which featured strippers, singers, magicians, lasso artists, and other acts with true local flavor - a real "variety" show.

Fernies - that's the place I remember. To bad Nogiboy isn't here anymore, he knew more about Nogi's history then anyone I ever meet. I wouldn't be surprised if he partied with the Duke back in the day.

I was alway uncomfortable in fermis because the place seemed like a death trap waiting for the first spark to set it ablaze. They also had some kind of funky heater jury rigged on the west wall that looked like it came out of an old mobile home. Always too hot near the heater and too cold a few tables away.

We used to go to La Caverna when I was in HS in the 70's. It was kind of a cool place to go. Would also hit Canal Street (I think) It was a while ago. Fun times.

Thanks for posting this update. It is a further confirmation on why I usually just pass through Nogales on my way to Hermosillo.

I sometimes visit the dentist there or do a little shopping. With good haggling skills, you can really get a good bargain now. I have made purchases for less than half the asking price. It is sad to see so few tourists shopping there now. Many more shops and clubs are just shutting down.

Perhaps when the politics change things will pick up again. But it will never be the same as it was when you could get a sweet, young piece of ass on Canal street for $5 USD.

Correction to the above post. A friend of mine who has lived in Tucson since the 70's says the proper name was: Calle Canal.

If that place still exists it is now only a calle. There are no good brothels anymore in Nogales or anywhere in Sonora, at least as far as I know. It was all cleaned up to help increase tourism shopping with their families.

LOL! What a laugh! There certainly are no tourists there now! The Sonora "experts" may correct me, if they like.

THURSDAY, MARCH 31, 2011

I wasted six gallons of gasoline to wander down to Nogales this evening. Things were extremely quiet, very few people on the street and absolutely no sense of danger. The federales were out of sight. It seemed like I was the ONLY GRINGO in town.

Studio69 had about 10 girls and several looked pretty good. Bought lady drinks for two girls, but nothing more.

Bolerios had one really pretty NEW spinner named Bridgette and about a dozen girls of various quality. I did a privado with Bridgette, but it was extremely lame and we had a language barrier, so gotta wait for her to become a bit more hard core. Also did privado with a rather unattractive girl who had a naughty attitude and she met expectations.

EROS SPA had three massage girls, but nothing that thrilled me.

OSIRIS SPA is in the back of an alcove and a garage door blocked the entry. The signs suggest it is still open, but this may just be a daytime operation.

OBSESSIONS had SIX FUGLIES. Very disappointing.

Spent about US$100 total in Mexico. Walked back into USA around 11 PM and drove home.

Perhaps Friday and Saturday have better talent, but what I saw tonight was far from promising.

Not much has changed since I did this report. Same clubs, same prices for privado. But today I did a spinner in Bolerios for $120 in down stairs room. Great service from very horny girl.
