The nice thing about Sosua is that a beach is nearby and there are a lot of daytime activities that some of the locals have put together such as. The beach area is just a 5 minute walk from the New Garden hotel.

- a vigorous all-day horseback ride through the jungle

- the actual beach where you can rent out an umbrella and stay for the day

- snorkeling/diving

- boating

- fishing

- motorcycle tour of the land along with cigar factory tour

To access these activities, walk to the beach area and there are a bunch of touts that will get you hooked up. Now remember, dont pay the "ask" of the street touts. Bargain them lower. I did the all-day horseback through the jungle today.

The guide at Rancho Pinto seems to be a straight up guy. He will give you the scoop on whats up. He told me that I could get the women all night from 500-1000 pesos. I dunno about that;) I'll try it out tonight to see if I can negotiate that low.

I wanted to buy a boony hat for the horseback ride and I saw one that I liked. At first the woman asked $25 and then I bargained her down to what I thought it was actually worth which was $8. This is the way it is here. The person selling you something will always tell you an obnoxiously high price and you have to whittle them down. Same goes with the ladies. If you just give the lady the ask then they get comfortable with that...soon they move their price up. All the ladies on the street seem to network and talk to each other so word will get out that 2000 pesos for short time is ok and then they will start asking even higher like 3000-4000 pesos.

You can get the ladies to at least 1500 pesos for short time. The guide says that getting them to under 1000 for long time is possible. I think thats wishful thinking, but it may be possible to get them down to 1000 for short time. There is no shortage of bars and clubs and thousands of ladies hanging along the streetside. Just be patient and you will get what you want.

The night is starting. During the day, the best thing to do is hit the beach, go on the tours and participate in the non-mongering activities. The bars dont really start happening until after 8pm, but there is no issue with scoring some ladies before then if you like.

A quick note. If you do not know any Spanish then write out basic mongering phrases that you would normally ask or get one of those pocket translators. Next, bring a large desk clock...large enough where the numbers are clearly visable.

Before you take the lady back to the room, agree in Spanish on the following:
- Price?
- How long?
- What you want done? "Freaky freaky" is a common term they use to denote sex.

If you make your negotiation in English, then they will claim they dont understand English, but you agreed to the high price they originally quoted and will deny any negotiation took place.

I am typing this note because I just had a woman in here where we originally agreed on 1500 for 3 hours, but then after 40 minutes she said "Finish" and since it was so long she wanted 2000 pesos. Then I started to feel like I just got taken for the ride. I decided to give her 2 20's and she then disagreed saying "NO!" loudly and then she said she didnt understand what I was saying. I told her "Ok, lets go down to the front desk." She then walked into the bathroom and came out smiling saying "OK". She got dressed, gave me a kiss and left.

So if you dont make your negotiation in Spanish, then you could get ripped off. I identified one scam in the above scenario where you negotiate one price in the street, but the lady finds a way to upgrade the price once in the room.

Maybe having a small pocket notebook with the 3 simple questions above will help. Have the lady fill in the quick answers and then once back in the room note the time pointing to the clock and having a short discussion. If there are any misunderstandings, then point back to the notebook. Even if you do know solid Spanish, it might be good just to have them still write down the time and price so you have something to point back to when they start to rip you off.

Also, communicate with the front desk on these issues. Omar seems like a guy who will listen to these issues as the hotel is so girl friendly...its a mongering hotel. They may not be invited back or maybe the staff will stand up for you during such disagreements.

I've been to Black Beards and know they would never tolerate such behavior on their property. The price at Black Beards is 40 US Dollars for short time and 80 US dollars for long time. Short time is a few hours where as the 80 dollar special is all night. If a lady violates that premise and rips any customers off, then she is not welcome back at Black Beards. When you are at Blackbeards, there are also tours, boating and other such stuff. You can also get away to other places.

Monday is my last day and then I fly back on Tuesday. My experience with the DR is just with Black Beard's so I wanted to test out being in the heart of Sosua for a few days. This was just meant to be a short trip to wet my whistle on Sosua.

As you can probably tell, I am more convinced that BlackBeard's is the place to be as its reputation is based on the mongering scene. If a chick rips you off, then they wont let her back into the hotel...

The street scene is amazing and what you have to do is grab a chair and wait for that one to come along that you like. Knowing Spanish seems to be key and I sat there with my laptop open to the Google translator working this deal.

On a Sunday night like this one, the clubs are going strong and there is a crowd of ladies at the bars. If you have not considered the DR, then you should. The flight is short and cheap. The women are out in strength.

BTW, the woman above was 1500 pesos. At first she said 2000 like they all do, but I wasnt going to pay 1 peso over 1500.

I will get some pictures of the street scene soon. I will take my camera out tommorrow in the morning and then try to sneak a few at night.

One thing that you must guard against is pick pockets. The women will get very close and reach into your pockets. There was one guy who had his son on a motorbike idleing on the street. The boy blew the horn of the motorbike to distract me and then the father of the boy stumbled into me. My hand was in my pocket at the time and so we grabbed hands.

You want to get yourself a money belt or neck wallet. Putting anything in your pocket is risky. Pac-Safe sells neck, wrist and waist wallets that are designed with wire to be slash resistant.

The best thing about Jackie was her personality and kind demeanor. She was the closest thing to the GFE experience. No matter what a woman looks like(in my opinion), its her words and attitude that can increase or decrease her physical looks. There are some ladies out there who can be the "buzz kill" where no matter what they looked like it seemed after the fact that it wasnt worth it.

Even if Jackie was a few pounds heavier or had a lesser face, then I still would have taken her from the place. She seemed really sweet and loved to smile. A great sport...

Actually she is one of the cutest and has one of the tightest bodies In Classicos. Slight bad skin though, can be easily cleared up with some proactiv.. lol
