In the above image you see a set of stairs right under the Club 59 sign. That is the stairs upwards to the disco called Classico.
When you walk up the stairs and enter Classico it will appear as if you stepped into some type of colored people's party. However, dont be intimidated. Everyone inside is either a prostitute or a John/Jane.
The slick looking young muscular Black men from the DR are not there to pick up the young slick looking DR women. The guys are there for the older British white female mongers. The young Black men will not give you any problems. In fact, you are best off looking and sounding like a tourist. If you are a white guy in some khakis and dress shirt, then the DR women will come right up to you and grab you.
Although Classico may look and sound like a regular nightclub back in the states, make no mistake, you will not walk out with anything from there without paying. The ladies are smart and they can smell when you have pesos and when you dont. As long as you have pesos, it doesnt matter what you look like or how old you are. Your race is not an issue. When they smell pesos on you then they will grab you. These women will be very aggressive and tell you exactly what they want to do.(Remember what I said in another thread. Some of these women will talk a good game, but results oftentimes vary)
There will be groups of guys who believe they can pick up a woman in this place without paying. These guys will end up walking out at 4am with no woman. All of the women (except the white British older set) are for hire in this club. It doesnt matter if you are in your 50s or your 20s...if you are black or white...go up to any woman and they will make a deal with you.
The Classico is the DR's version of Brazil's Help disco. It caters exclusively to the pay for play crowd and is jammed every night until 4am or so...
