I’m headed off on a last minute trip to Singapore and decide to extend the trip, as long as I am in the area, to visit the Philippines as well. Going into the trip, I know that Singapore is far more expensive than the Philippines will be, so I decide to conserve my money in Singapore so that I have more funds for PI, as well as trips planned for Costa Rica and Columbia in a few months.

So, day 1, I arrive and attend to business needs; then on the cab ride back from my meeting I ask the cab driver about the Geylang area, as CH posts indicate this is better hunting grounds than Orchard Tower. He insists that Geylang is not for me – for me Orchard Tower. Against the advice posted on CH, and given the fact that the cabbie said Geylang was 40 minutes away with traffic and Orchard was 5, I went on to see the Four Floors of Whores at Orchard Tower; after all, I am only looking and saving my money for Philippines.

As far as Rio goes. I've been there multiple times, and in my last post from Rio (under a different moniker) I report the same trouble.
