Day 0

ClubHombre.com: -TripReports-: 2011/01 Big Poppa Breaks his Latin Cherry in Medellin: Day 0
By Bigpoppa on Saturday, January 08, 2011 - 12:29 pm:  Edit

I almost decided not to write this report for a few reasons.

One – my batting average wasn't as good as I'd like it to be.

Two – the Medellin Mansion (aka Hotel Casa Blanca) had an unfortunate development, the news of which may dissuade people from staying there.

But after being back for about 3 weeks, and being tired of logging into CH and seeing no good trip reports since Blazer's Medellin report, I decided, why not another Medellin trip report? As far as the mansion goes I'll just have to state the facts and let everyone decide what to do with them. Finally I think Medellin is a pleasant city that makes for a nice place to be in between sessions and I want to share a little bit of that.

Day 0

I flew in to Medellin from Miami on American Airlines. We took off late as it was Colombian chaos with people all over the place like kids on a school bus who can't figure out where they should sit and put their bags etc. Up in the air and the duty free liquor flowed freely up and down the aisle and people were getting shit faced. The female Colombian flight attendant rounded up her goons and confiscated it all. The guy next to me started asking me questions about the immigration form in Spanish. I apologetically told him in Spanish that I speak very little Spanish and he said in English, “Oh you look like a Spanish person.” With a shaved head, I guess I might.

I found out he was a Puerto Rican from Connecticut with a Colombian wife. He asked me if I'd ever been to Colombia and I said no. He then chuckled and said, “Oh you'll be back.” A few minutes into the conversation he asked if I was married. I answered no and he had some big grins about that. I smiled too and said maybe I'll find a wife here. He said something about how fine Colombian women are and eventually gave me his Colombian cell number in case I get bored. I wrote it down but doubted I would use it. The approach to Medellin had a few bad episodes of turbulence. I usually do well at ignoring turbulence, treating it as something that just happened, and therefore is irrelevant to what will happen. But when the sudden drops just kept on coming, I have to say it was pretty hard to do that. I think everyone felt the same way I did because there was much cheer and applause after a not too rough landing.

It took almost an hour to get to the front of the immigration line and once through I found MaliMike who was waiting for me. We took a cab down through the winding mountain roads to the mansion and it really felt like we were chasing James Bond down a highway through the French Alps. The worn brake rotors clunking, the absence of seat belts and the rate of speed down the hills had me gripping the oh shit handle above the window like a suitcase with a million dollars in it. Thank God there was a toll booth and some road work to force the cab to slow down. The fare was 52000 pesos agreed to with the cab driver before leaving the airport.

Once at the mansion I showered and took a nap. After I woke up Mali and I went downstairs and met Greg and the other guests and we all watched football. Greg had the receptionist round up the three girls who were there so we could get laid but I wanted to wait for a bit to see who else might show up. A few more did but they went right about searching for other mansionites right off the bat.

Out of the three girls, Cathy was the most friendly so I picked her.

Photos: Cathy 01 02 03

Afterwards Mali and I reasoned that on the first day of a trip you're normally tired when you get into town. You may also be in a city that is new and unfamiliar to you. While you want to get laid you also want to go the fuck to sleep so you really can't be expected to go all over the place trying to find Miss Right. You find Miss Right-Now, do her, eat some food and hit the rack. So that's what we both did. It was day zero.

This day zero was brought to you by El Brasero.

El Brasero

It's a chicken. A whole juicy baked chicken with some potatoes and arepas. Since you're not likely to have a set of carving knives on hand, the package includes plastic gloves so you can pull the meat off the carcass and eat a whole chicken all with your hands. Mali and I ate most of the chicken, it could feed 3 or 4 people really and drank Pilsen beers from the mini bar. I believe it cost about 19000 pesos which is about US $10. It was a fantastic, fuck it I'm hungry now, meal.

And then I went to bed. More to come one Day 1.

Thanks for the interesting day 0 report. I look forward to the others.

It is interesting though that on Sept. 30 one of the other owners of the Mansion promised us all in a post in the Mansion thread that Greg would no longer work there, and that it would be more fun after he left. Is the Greg you saw the same Greg who supposedly was not going to work there anymore (presumably as a result of complaints about him, etc.)?

By Bigpoppa on Saturday, January 08, 2011 - 04:04 pm:  Edit

I can only assume so. But personally I had no issues with Greg, quite the opposite actually. If I'm not mistaken he's one of the owners so I doubt he'll be leaving.

By Topfotog on Saturday, January 08, 2011 - 04:21 pm:  Edit

I believe Aussie Greg is no longer a majority owner of CB but he is the de-facto Operations manager. I know there is a FOR SALE sign at CB2 and have heard rumors that the majority owner is looking to sell the actual CB buildings and move operations elsewhere.

Was the no girls just hanging out and having to sign for your girls the unfortunate development you are speaking of?

I think that was just a temporary fix to appease the neighbors. So it should not be a determent for many who stay at the Casa blanca on a regular basis as well as newbies.

Stay Horny My Friend,

Cubanut

PS. Thanks for the post by the way and I think it should be pointed out that MANY mongers that stay at Casa Blanca 1 & 2 do not EVER write posts on this board. So just because there is a lack of posts concerning Medellin does not mean anything major has changed about enjoying it's fruits.

RT here. Is it White Knighting when it is for a whorehouse, or is that term reserved just for girls?

By Bigpoppa on Sunday, January 09, 2011 - 11:42 am:  Edit

Cuba,

Yes the ban on all girls hanging out was the unfortunate development since it lasted throughout my 5 day stay.

The staff were excellent about calling girls on your behalf, but choosing from a photo is kind of a crap shoot.

Hopefully you're right and it's just temporary. Also, hopefully we get an update here regarding the visitor status.

By Roadglide on Sunday, January 09, 2011 - 10:01 pm:  Edit

Why stay at the Mansion/ Casa Blanca now?? If they don't have any girls hanging out it's kind of like going to a whore house, only to find an escort agency.

If you speak Spanish I'm sure that there are other places to stay at that have as nice or nicer rooms at a lower cost, and you can just use the yellow pages or newspaper ads to find your girl.

With the for sale sign up at Casa Blanca 2 I would think that they are going to try and move their operation to a location where the neighbors will not be an issue any more, after all that was one of the reasons given for the BBQ parties to be canceled.

“logging in to CH and seeing no good trip reports since Blazer’s Medellin report”

Perhaps you should read the “ ED in the Philippines” TR..it was a good one…

By Bigpoppa on Monday, January 10, 2011 - 04:53 pm:  Edit

No offence meant there, but PI reports don't usually interest me anymore, especially without pics. But I have started reading yours and quite a good discussion developed. Keep it up and don't get sucked in by a BG, your adventure is just beginning :-)

Lol

I have to say, and im sure it was obvious, I almost did get sucked in…but I’m good now….Columbia or Brazil is next on my list…Gotta get me some spanish huneys

By Cubanut on Monday, January 10, 2011 - 11:48 pm:  Edit

Roadglide,

As a result of a guest having a Mariachi Band come over on a Sunday after midnight a few weeks ago, the police made a visit to the Casa Blanca due to neighbor complaints. At the time Greg was not in Medellin. So they came back when he returned to Medellin.

Greg posted this on another Monger site yesterday:

I'm back from the countryside, ready to answer any questions.

Hotel Casa Blanca is changing with the times and here are the main points "as I see it"

We had a meeting with the local police, all our employees and I was present.

The police read us the riot act, strait from the book around the kitchen table, so you could say we are on notice officially.

WE CANOT PROMOTE PROSTITUTION and that means.

We cannot call 7 to 20 putas to sit around the pool to laugh, get drunk, scream and play loud music.

HOWEVER: Guests CAN call friends to come over to the hotel 1 to 2 girls each guest. No problem as long as the hotel guests are in complete control of their invited friends.

We can help translate whenever guests would like to call his friends if the guest doesn't have a good command of Spanish.

We can have parties, no problem but no noise issues and yes, the pool area is closed down earlier than before (just like any normal hotel)

Yes, you could say that Hotel Casa Blanca Medellin, being in the location that we are in is starting to conduct our hotel business more like a traditional hotel type business, but with a twist.

If we loose business, so be it, as for being closed down as some people on this board and other boards wish, that will never happen. These people are not the clients that we want at our hotel and are problematic people who have probably stayed with us and have been kicked out.

We are not interested in guests staying with us who are loud, always drunk (I can talk but I have cleaned up my act in the last couple of years) and bring attention to them selves.

As for no more girls around the pool area "not true" we have a swimming pool and nearly every day a guest and or invited friends use this option. For example, today, we will have a party poolside with invited friends of guests.

We want our guests to be active in there "hobby" in their own way. We are ready to help in certain ways that are not illegal here in Colombia.

Any friends invited to the hotel by a guest must must have a Colombian cedula I. D. No Colombian passports and or contrasenas will be accepted.

If you have any questions, I'm ready to answer them. Please do ask so every body can understand the situation.
END

So it would seem things are just slightly different but just about close to being business as usual.

Cheers,

Cubanut

PS. When the guest showed up to the Casa Blanca with the Mariachi band, the guard called Boyd to ask if it was alright to let them in. Boyd gave the ill fated OK.

I understand Greg has asked that same guest not to stay at the Casa Blanca in the future.

It's just my opinion but that guest who invited the Mariachi Band on a Sunday after midnight was selfish and idiotic (perhaps drunk also?).

Cubanut writes:

Yeah I would have to agree. Although I appreciate the mansion staff doing all that they can to assist their guests (apparently sometimes too much), this incident certainly changed the expected dynamic of my trip. And where the hell do you find a Mariachi band for hire at that hour?

Cuba, thanks for sharing this update.

By JIMMYDR on Tuesday, January 11, 2011 - 07:43 am:  Edit

You can find a band in Mayorista at midnight, and put them all in a taxi or two.

By Lovingmarvin on Tuesday, January 11, 2011 - 09:22 am:  Edit

Sounds like reasonable enough rules to me.... but I do have to admit having 7 to 20 putas sitting around the pool to laugh, get drunk, scream and play loud music is fun....But then again, I am not a neighbor having to put up with it.

By Roadglide on Tuesday, January 11, 2011 - 10:16 am:  Edit

Cuba; You left a few things out of the posting made on the other site, and changed wording.

The major item you left out is that guests need to be making call on their own cell phones. "Guests will be required to have their own telephone 80, 000. 100, 000 pesos here in Poblado with SIM card and 20, 000 pesos of minutes."

Needing to cary your own cell is never a bad idea, but it sounds like they are no longer allowed to make those calls for you. "We can help translate when the guests call his friends if the guest doesn't have a good command of spanish but only under instructions from guests" What is with the "but only under instructions from guests"?

Any idea why Greg was at the meeting and the two other owners BBB and MB were not at the meeting with the police?

Why did you change the wording and leave some of the posting out?

By JIMMYDR on Tuesday, January 11, 2011 - 03:41 pm:  Edit

I believe DAS is coming down hard on the Mansion these days.

By Cubanut on Tuesday, January 11, 2011 - 07:18 pm:  Edit

Roadglide,

The part about the cell phones I did not think was even necessary since most repeat guests already have them and newbies usually get them.

However, the reason to require them is that the calls to invite chicas are to be done with the guests cell phones and not the Casa Blanca phones. Thereby if DAS checks the Casa Blanca phone records they will not see hundreds of calls to the chicas cells/homes.

"but only under instructions from guests" means just that. They will not call girls to hang out at random but if a guests would like, they will use the guests phone to invite the girl/s.

Greg and the house staff was at the meeting. Robert was/is out of town and I do not know why Boyd was not present.

Just an FYI. Greg's post was a bit long and unorganized. I tried to make it concise and a quicker read. Since you are familiar with the other board you can attest to how many gents "Quote" the whole post (which I hate) resulting in loooong posts.

Even so, I'm sure you agree that these are the same "new rules" as written on the other site. And as another monger posted sound reasonable enough.

Cheers,

Cubanut

By Roadglide on Tuesday, January 11, 2011 - 10:38 pm:  Edit

Not to hijack BigPoppas trip report, and I hope that you don't mind me reposting the new rules over to the Mansion thread.

As far as the "new rules" being reasonable, I agree they are if you were running or staying at a Holliday Inn Express, but we all know thats not what the Mansion has been advertised as.

I can only talk for myself, but if I had stayed at the Mansion during the timeframe that BigPoppa had been there, I would have been a little pissed off over the "new rules"

By Blazers on Tuesday, January 11, 2011 - 11:36 pm:  Edit

If it would have been a Salsa band instead of a Mariachi band then all would have been forgiven and noise wouldn't have been a problem.

By Cubanut on Friday, January 14, 2011 - 07:30 pm:  Edit

Roadglide,

Why is this such a BIG issue for you? Only you seem to be even remotely interested in dissecting this to pieces.

The situation at the Casa Blanca will never be an issue for yourself since you've made it clear many times you have no intention of staying there.

However, because I know you are just looking out for your fellow mongers, Greg points out in the newest Casa Blanca Newsletter, there is nothing that changes the ability for a guests to have young English students invited to stop by. Just have to use the guests phone to invite them.

The Casa Blanca is booked solid for the next two months which hopefully will bring new testimony as to how the new "rules" are working out.

I say hopefully since many gents still lurk but choose not to post.

BTW- You can subscribe to the Monthly Newsletter by simply sending a request to info@medellinmansion.com

Cheers,

Cubanut

PS. Here's a picture of Greg from the Newsletter. He explains how there will always be nice "English Students" to meet while you stay at the Casa Blanca.

If I may reclaim my thread here, this is precisely the situation I wished to avoid and why I almost didn't post.

Was I pissed over the new rules? No. I completely understand the need for caution when the Chief of Police comes to your kitchen and tells you comply or die.

I might say it was a bit of a bummer though. What with casually being able to speak to half a dozen or more girls who are just milling about, vs seeing pics and hoping the girl behaves as nice as she looks when she gets there a few hours later. Obviously those are 2 different experiences.

I'd have to say the mansion is doing it's best under the circumstances, but as Greg admits in his post, the mansion has had to change with the times. I certainly hope they do well business wise, but at the same time I felt people deserve to see a candid report and if they wish to use it to choose whether or not to stay at the mansion, that's their right.

Ultimately though the report is to inform and entertain readers as to how my trip went. I think the pics show it was a good trip and the tips we got from Greg, Mark, Boyd and the mansion guests helped make that happen.

By Roadglide on Saturday, January 15, 2011 - 10:42 am:  Edit

Bigpoppa; It is a good thing that you posted, your one of the few guys out there that post's both the good and the bad about the Mansion. I'm not sure if we should call Cubanut a shill or not when it comes to advertising for the mansion. Cuba, your trying to make it sound as if it's business as usual.

RT here. I'm pretty sure.

The answer is yes.

That doesn't detract from the obvious beauty of most of the girls that CN has posted pictures of, nor, I suppose, the Medellin hooker population in general. If the mansion was a chica, and he posted for/defended her the way he does the hotel, there would be cries of 'freebies' and 'pimp' right and left.

By Kersuet123 on Sunday, January 16, 2011 - 09:11 am:  Edit

I am sked to be there 18-26 Feb, but would cancel if I could as it sounds like a significant part of the Mansion experience is on hold, perhaps indefinitely. The great thing about before was everyone sitting around. You could learn a lot from the other mongers, you could get a feel (no pun intended) for what the girl was about, you could sort of tell which ones would stay with you for more/much more than an hour, and it was just fun to flirt and practice spanish. It was really a unique experience, especially since the girls clearly were on their best behavior and didn't rush the guests to close the deal, etc. Anyway, trying to keep a positive attitude but it will sort of suck if it is all about "ordering" from a menu of pictures.

By Cubanut on Monday, January 17, 2011 - 09:01 pm:  Edit

Gents,

Call me want you want but I remain Cubanut a satisfied and very "familiar" Casa Blanca guest.

Please note: I have NEVER been offered or given a free piece of ass by Greg, Robert or Boyd. And for that matter, I have NEVER asked for any freebies.

Also note: I have NEVER stayed at the Mansion/Casa Blanca 1 or Castillo/Casa Blanca 2 for free, NEVER!

And finally: I don't receive any monetary compensation for suggesting mongers try the Casa Blanca 1 & 2.

WHY IS THAT SO HARD TO UNDERSTAND?

BTW-A while back I was suggesting staying at VIP's when it was also a Mansion type place. This despite the fact that they were in DIRECT competition with the Mansion. WHY? Because I had a chance to stay there when the Mansion was full. At the time Marcy was working there as well. I got to know the owner and very much liked the facilities and location and service he and his staff provided. I even suggested to Greg and Robert that they refer clients to VIP if they were full, Robert did just that and it worked fine for a while.

The only reason it ended was that VIP sold the property to a developer and they built a condo complex on the large property. Shame really because it really was a nice location. larger and prettier than the Mansion and Castillo as well.

Please keep this in mind as well. Whenever anyone asks about where to stay in Cali I ALWAYS recommend the Cali Plaza. And yet, no freebies or discounts, in fact the owner Claude has never even done as much as buy me a beer! So why suggest his hotel? Because that's what a GOOD monger does! He shares the best venue he knows with his fellow Mongers. Or at least I thought that was what the Brotherhood of Mongers was suppose to do.

Cheers,

Cubanut

PS. With a full house a suggestion would be that a few fellows simply ask over the best looking or best suggested girls. A monger can sign in up to 2 girls at a time. It doesn't mean you have to be with them necessarily. so 5 or 6 guys can invite 10 to 12 girls over and it seems like a party is in order.

As a person that is well versed in that area and has knowledge of other Mansion CB type establishments, can you PM me or give any other suggestions to different places that are of equal or greater value then the Mansion/CB1-CB2?

Thanks!

J666; Here is a place you may like.http://www.medellinfordummies.com/

Just read a report on another site, that said there were 0 girls hanging out for 3 days he was there in January. If you are expecting to see all those girls in cubanuts photo you should have gone before December.

They are enforcing the "Guests can call friends to come over to the hotel 1 to 2 girls each guest. No problem as long as the hotel guests are in complete control of their invited friends"

Hi Guys,

Many guys on here try to convince you to not stay at our place. My name is Boyd and i run CB2, Which is the same business as the Mansion. Don't let anyone decide for you. Plan your trip at our place annnnnnnnnnnnnnd somewhere else in MDE. You decide!!
I hate to say it but the internet is not going to give you an accurate pic of what is going on in Medellin. It is complicated and you need to see for yourself. I will give you an example of what i do.
Look at the photo of the line of girls at the top.
Starting form the left. Aleja has an excellent rep and is very kick back. Veronicas rep has fallen sad to say. Girl three i don't know, but i would call Greg to ask. Carolina has and excellent rep and is an animal. Vanesa is a straight up nypho, she has been working out and has an incredible body. Number 6 vanesa is commercial. Jimena is one sexy spinner, she has one of the best personalities of any girl i have met. Same goes for the next girl Angie, super sexy GFE. Carolina, she has been working out, this girl is a squirter. I warn guys and they don't listen. Can i get a new set of sheets? The last girl, sorry guys off the market preganant.
Why stay with us? You will have a better time.
Most of these girls are available. There are no girls at the Mansion??? Would it be that hard to call one of these girls.

By Cobra887 on Wednesday, January 26, 2011 - 09:13 pm:  Edit

that is just wrong that these girls are aloud to get pregnant

By Topfotog on Saturday, January 29, 2011 - 01:19 pm:  Edit

The bottomline is you should be proactive in order to find your fun whether you are staying at the CBs or elsewhere.
