Up & moving @ 5:30 am.
Ready to go by 6:40.
I had asked the apartment owner to pre-book me a limo for the ride to the airport.
It arrived early and the drive was super fast at that time on a Saturday. Read: less than 35 minutes.
The check-in chick was not only a stunner, but a sweetheart to boot!
Too bad she couldn't wave the overweight luggage fee.
The A320 was packed and pushed off late i.e 9:40.
Howver we landed essentially on time after the 4+ hour flight.
I had pre-arranged a pick-up from a tour agency but they were a "no-show".
Met two (2) other so-called tour guides. Smelt big-time scam all over these dudes!
Saw a bunch of Yankee fisherboys arriving with their rods & gear. I asked what are these guys paying.
Get this: $ 950 USD a day, for a hammock on a boat, 3 meals a day, and all the fishing they could handle. Not my personal cup of tea! Bot that's OK!
Grabbed a taxi to the hotel.
The hotel I choose was the Hotel Saint Paul. Why? Close to the core. Good rating. And I had read too much negative about the "famous" Tropical Manuas.
The room was nice, albeit a little spartan. At least they put me up on the top floor (14th).
Unpacked and went for a 2+ hour stroll down to the port.
Picked up some souvenirs.
On my way back ordered a pie at "Scarola Pizzeria" and washed it down with three (3) chopps.
