Up at 8:00 feeling OK.
Again, not a cloud in the sky.
Called the hang-gliding guy. "No wind as yet" he replied.
Went up the street to buy 26R worth of airtime.
Then a run/jog along the beach to 11:40.
Just prior found a great little Internet Cafe and made some calls and checked my inbox.
Took a shower and made one only call connecting with Mel Maia for 3 pm today.
Went for another walk (this time Ipanema) and had a large fruit smoothy for lunch.

Even a bad day at the beach in Rio is better than a great day almost anywhere. What to say of a beautiful day?

A word of caution. You seem to be taking a photo of everything, particularly every woman in sight, and I would warn you that the police don't need a lot for probable cause (that doesn't even exist in Brasil) to fuck with you, especially if they even get a hint that you are taking photos of teen age girls. I know it may seem innocent enough in your mind, but in their minds, you are just another gringo down there banging their women, and you would not be the first man that has had his camera looked at (or taken), aa well as his laptop back in the apt. Just something to think about.

Good point, ask the guy who got tagged on Ipanema Beach last year for taking pics of kids playing in the sand. I believe he ran straight to the airport after the cops were done with him, and his were fairly innocent (though creepy) pics.

His photos of Balcony probably aren't the greatest idea either. Taking close-up pics of a garota sitting at your table is one thing, wide shots of the place in general are undoubtedly showing guys who would prefer not to have pictures taken of them at a putaria.
